Always an amazing dining experience. Tips They cover parking, scan once you're inside. Get there 40- 60 mins before opening to secure a spot. (Reservations not accepted) Check their social media pages. Updates and menu are posted there daily

Back for another review to share recommendations at my favorite sushi place ever! Must order: multiple salmon bellies, Hokkaido scallop, spicy tuna handroll. I usually ask the server for recommendations, trust them, and have the best time. We love, love, love it here. Be prepared to come early to get on the wait list, grab a drink at a nearby bar, and come hungry!

Came back again after all these years. Still the best sushi I've ever had. I don't know what these people are doing but it seems like they're just crushing the game. Simple food, excellent (and speedy) service, with amazing quality all-around. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I love when the hype is actually real. What a refreshing sushi experience! It's a very intimate space so we were on the waitlist for more than an hour but I promise the wait is worth it!! The salmon belly here is unreal. I'd recommend asking the chef for their daily specials- the handrolls were so good! All of the nigiri was super fresh and as someone who doesn't typically enjoy uni, I liked it here. I can't wait to visit the Frisco location!

Incredible experience. I've been here sooo many times. The customer service, quality of fish, sake, exotic flavors are the BEST. This place inspired my trip to Japan. Will be back! Recommendations: Salmon belly - atleast 3-5 :) Crab hand roll Lobster hand roll Otoro / Chutoro Waygu nigiri Salmon truffle ponzu

This was sooo yummy! Highly recommend this spot but it does get very packed and they don't accept reservations so I recommend coming a bit before they open to queue up. They have a large menu that changes everyday so you can always try something new. I prefer their specialty pieces over the handrolls but both were great! The service is great and it's a pretty spacious handroll bar. I would def come again next time I'm in town.

One of my favorite sushi spot for lunch! You never can know go wrong with anything on the menu, whether you are going for nigiri, sashimi or handroll. The high quality ingredients at a decently affordable price cannot be beat anywhere in Fort Worth. My favorite sushi spot in Fort Worth. I recommend their go to favorite of the salmon belly nigiri or the hamachili.

We had a 2.5 hour wait for two on a Saturday at 6:00pm. This didn't both us as we were first timers and really wanted to try it -- so we put our name down and checked out the local thrift shops and bars next door. We ended up getting a text that our seats were ready at the 2 hour mark. It was safe to say that our experience was absolutely perfect!! Every hand roll we tried was even better than the last. You can taste the high quality ingredients that is carefully curated into every bite you take. This is hands down one of the best sushi I've ever had. Highly recommend asking your waiters and chefs what their favorites are and don't think twice, just get it! We've already made plans to come back!

I couldn't wait to visit this sushi restaurant; the reviews and reputation were more than tempting. I was in the area for a Yelp event, and this was located about ten minutes from where I was. I placed a to-go order, and I learned that was not the best idea. I found they had a Wix web page and another; the other had a full menu to include the rolls pack. The other website doesn't help either. So I took a chance and ordered four rolls. Crab - Was good, and was fresh. Salmon - Was fresh, but not my best choice. Spicy Salmon - I was not a fan. Shrimp - I enjoyed this, but the texture was different for me. Before getting the roll, which was my third option, I asked for two things they did not have, which were on the menu. I arrived an hour after they opened, and they were already out of that item? Their menu, which can only be viewed in the restaurant, varies depending on the dining experience (lunch/dinner). I assume. When I arrived home, I noticed they did not include wasabi. What? Sushi/sashimi aren't the same without wasabi and the additional condiments. This definitely was not a pleasing visit, but I am willing to give them another try. I will only dine in, I feel that's when you'll get the full effect of what this restaurant truly has to offer. The gentleman who took my order was really sweet and was patient when I couldn't figure out what I wanted, due to them being out of what was on my list. The inside was very nice, I like the ability to watch as the rolls are being made. I look forward to watching that and to having a better experience.

Wow what an amazing experience! I let my son be the guide on ordering and everything that was put in front of me was delicious! The staff was attentive and amazing. The spot is small so expect to wait to get your spot at the bar.

Amazing! note that theres a line before they open (at 5). We were 15th in line and had arrived there around 445. when you are seated, theres a tiny menu placed at each station that has al le carte and combo selections. I opted for the 4 combo handroll and had ordered al le carte items like the Toro handroll, eel handroll, mizayaki beef, uni with toro and salmon truffle. Overall, all of the items were amazing. Seaweed was crispy and crunchy and each handroll had a good amount of "fillings". The salmon truffle is slices of salmon sashimi with truffle sauce and came with 5 pieces. Overall, I would come back.

Tad pricey but worth it for the experience. Everything is super tasty and fresh, chefs are top tier. Definitely get here right at 4:50 before the open to avoid any lengthy wait. I enjoyed everything I got, and was executed really well.

If you ask anyone living in Fort Worth what is the best sushi place in the area? They will tell you Hatsuyuki. I mean... it's good but it's kinda the same as other handroll places you find on the Dallas side of town. However I will agree that it's probably the best sushi you can get in the Fort Worth area. When I dined there I told them I wanted the omakase with no limit. Limit being the amount of money I was going to spend. What does this mean? It meant that my omakase became an a la carte experience. I just ended up telling the chef what pieces I wanted and he made it. Like previously stated, the sushi is good. I'm not going to complain about the taste. I do like how they have what ingredient is available on a hand written board. One suggestion I do have for Hatsuyuki is they should do a reservation system. If you don't show up right when they open, you will be waiting in a LONG line.

Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar

Am I able to make a reservation? I see they have an option on the website but the reviews above say otherwise!

I eat there often; Hatsuyuki does not accept reservations. I wish it did.

    Is this buffet?

This is not all you can eat.

How much do people usually spend?

Approximately $40-75/per person and depending on if you're drinking.

    Are reservations needed or recommended?

I agree with everyone else! Go early, get your name and phone number on the waiting list. They will call you. We waited at a nearby bar. The food and experience were well worth the wait.

I'm interested in their specials (particularly uni and salmon belly). Are those usually available during lunch hours or it's better to go for dinner?

Uni and salmon belly are almost always available no matter time or day!

What do "su" and "sa" mean on the specials chalkboard menu?

Do they offer any Wild salmon or Chilean salmon (low in PCBs) options like Little Lilly does?

Are they doing curbside during pandemic?

Yes! And they usually post their menu and specials on their Instagram page

Is uni not a staple on their menu? Looking at the pictures and not seeing uni in any of the menu pictures.

Uni is not on their regular menu, but was on the "special" both times that I was there. I believe they have it most of the time, but I would ask the restaurant to be sure.

Do I have to call ahead for to-go or can order on spot and wait? Just asking because Sushi places are normally small, I don't want to get into people's way enjoying their meals.

I think you can call ahead but the hand rolls are best enjoyed there. The rice is warm and they will only serve one at a time when you dine in.… Read more

    Do they serve any nigiri?

The two times I have been there a number of the daily specials have been things that you could get as nigiri and/or sashimi.

Pros: Peter, the owner and chef, greeted our table and told us his sushi specials, which are flown in special from Tokyo every Friday so they change weekly. They have a lot of sushi combos and platters to service a variety of sizes of parties. We had the sushi combo which was plenty of fish, especially with the cut sizes. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Cons: the entrance is a little off putting but you shouldn't let that deter you. the french menu was lacking in my opinion. There is only one page of options, and we ended up not ordering anything french since the japanese was so appealing. I would've liked to see some seafood or more small plates.
