Great little spot with amazing food. I had a variety of things including the seafood soup which was amazing. A must try.

The short: Fresh Sushi, Busy Vibe, Needs Better Service The long: Tried Sushi Tao for the first time after seeing it on a gluten-free app. I can't believe it's been open 17 years and I never knew about it! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and my boyfriend loved the Cowboy Roll. The place was packed, so clearly a local favorite. Service was the only downside. We had to ask multiple times for basics like chopsticks and soy sauce, and three different people tried to take our order. Staff seemed stretched thin. Also, while they do have gluten-free soy sauce, the servers weren't very knowledgeable about GF options. We'll definitely be back for the sushi but hopefully they get more help soon!

Very comfortable atmosphere, relaxing and calm. Customer service is phenomenal, attentive, but not overbearing. Food is excellent, cooked perfectly, fresh and delicious. 100% will be coming back here. Not to mention the gluten free options, my wife and I have a hard time finding places that offer gluten free, if your looking for a place to chill, relax and eat good food this is the place.

Service is always amazing here. I enjoy how regulars come in & they are known by name, the staff asks about their families, life events, etc. Food- SO good! We haven't had anything we didn't care for here. Everything is fresh and tastes amazing. Ambiance- Quaint, Clean, low music playing. TVs on mute with captions

Great sushi place for lunch. Service was welcoming and quick. Relaxed and cozy feel. It is quite small, not sure how busy they usually get. They do have bento boxes for lunch but I tried their miso soup, yellowtail sashimi, unagi sashimi and salmon skin hand roll! The sashimi was delicious. The hand roll was just ok. I think the salmon skin might have been a bit overcooked that day. Overall enjoyed my lunch and will plan on going back.

ORDER House Salad Sushi Lunch The prices are so reasonable for sushi. My sushi lunch came with 5 pieces of California Roll and 5 pieces of the chef's cut fish all for $10.95 then. The house salad had a generous amount of sauce. It was alright overall. I am not a big fan of salad so can't say too much here. The sushi was decently presentable in terms of arrangement. The seafood was fresh and no signs of bad smelling fishiness. Great overall! VIBES Very family-oriented vibes. The lighting is a little on the darker side. There are 1/2 booth 1/2 chair tables, chair tables and a decent amount of seating. I went around lunch time and it was pretty crowded. Lots of families so a little on the louder side but still relatively crowded. SERVICE Service was great! Food came out in a timely manner and our waitress continuously checked on us, filling our water, etc.

Want good sushi & nice people this is the place to go. It may be a little hole in the wall place but worth it every time.

Came here because another spot I wanted to try was closed. This place closes at 3p & reopens at 4p just a heads up. We came in around 2:30. We had 4 rolls & chicken fried rice. First , the chicken fried Rice was phenomenal. We had the volcano, temptation, tiger & crazy roll. The temptation and tiger were my favorite 2 rolls. The crazy roll was my favorite when I read it on the menu, but it was torched so it tasted pretty burnt which was a bummer. For dessert, I had fried Oreos which came with your choice of ice cream. I had vanilla ice cream and that was a perfect way to end the meal. The waitress was really nice & they offer free refills on canned soda bc they don't have a soda fountain. Overall, 4/5 stars.

I stopped here on a whim for dinner while in Fort Worth on business travel. The service was great and the food was so tasty . I had the spicy edamame and ordered the Cowboy roll. Both were very good. I will definitely go back to try additional menu items.

My wife and I wanted sushi, so we looked on Google and found this place. When we walked up, the restaurant looked dark and I was kind of unsure about it, but inside was nice enough. The sushi was good. I was somewhat disappointed with the Volcano because it tasted mainly like sesame oil, but I fixed it with some eel sauce. The reason for four stars instead of five is because the longer we were there the harder it was to find staff when we needed something.

Great food, Super fresh, our waitress was amazing! We will be back!! Thank you guys!!

All staff was extremely nice and courteous. Sushi was fresh and tasty!! The owner (I believe) was very personable and knew many of the customers who walked in, asking about their families. Me and my family will definitely be going back. Great sushi plus amazing service!! Highly recommend.

    Busy Friday night.

An Izakaya only spot in my favorite part of town? Hell yeah!…read more Ichiro Izakaya Yakitori is a new entrant into the burgeoning South Main/Magnolia food renaissance. For the uninitiated, Izakaya a type of Japanese bar/restaurant that specializes in small dishes, usually grilled over hot coals. Here in Fort Worth, we have several great Ramen spots that also feature quite a bit of Izakaya type dishes, but Ichiro is unique in that is all they serve. Another bonus is that it is currently in the space of one of my previous favorite spots on South Main, Black Cat Pizza (RIP). Walking in, it is exactly what you would expect from an Izakaya place, a narrow, bustling, and fun atmosphere with the delicious sound of sizzling meats being cooked over hot coals emanating in the background. So what did we order? Well damn near everything. We started with some dumplings , then ordered some Hatsu, Yellowtail collar, pan-seared scallops, Negima (Duck breast), Beef Tongue, and split a few dishes of fried rice. I may have forgotten a few. I meant to take more pictures but we ended up devouring some of the dishes too quickly. Everything was great. The yellowtail collar is popular there and is a must order. My other two favorites were, surprisingly, the Negima and Beef tongue. Great thing about Izakaya is that you get to try so much, you get to expand your horizons a bit without having to take in too much so order to your heart's content and don't be shy. We are definitely going to be back to explore more of this delicious menu and this awesome atmosphere.

Pros: Peter, the owner and chef, greeted our table and told us his sushi specials, which are flown in special from Tokyo every Friday so they change weekly. We had the o-toro, chu-toro, aji, and fluke, and all were amazing quality and you got a lot of fish for the price. They have a lot of sushi combos and platters to service a variety of sizes of parties. We had the sushi combo which was plenty of fish, especially with the cut sizes. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Cons: the entrance is a little off putting but you shouldn't let that deter you. the french menu was lacking in my opinion. There is only one page of options, and we ended up not ordering anything french since the japanese was so appealing. I would've liked to see some seafood or more small plates. Overall the fish quality and piece sizes will keep me coming back! I definitely want to try some of the hot plate options as well. add it to your list!

Our only complaint with the general noodle dishes were that they had little meat or only one slice of meat. The slice was so delicious and tender, it fell apart when I bit into it! Unfortunately wish I had more. Shoyu Ramen 8/10: A very good savory standard ramen! Not sure how to describe the flavor but it is just a good salty soup when you want something heartful and salty.
