out of 5: Hooked on Sushi is my personal lunch escape--quiet, consistent, and always welcoming. The staff is great, and I love that they bring out a pitcher of ice-cold water right away. Seating is usually wide open, though I do wish they'd remove the old pillows on the left wall--they look a bit unsanitary (I sat there once, never again... table is where you'll find me). Food and service? Top notch. I've never been disappointed! Fave roll alert: the Lemon Roll--add fresh jalapeño (instead of cucumber), you'll thank me later. The protein roll is great too-- loaded with all the goods and wrapped in soy paper-- super filling. I've even mixed the two when over excited ... don't judge. Highly recommend for a chill solo lunch or low-key sushi fix. read more

I was immediately sat and given plenty of time to think about what I wanted to order. My server was very polite and thanked me every single time he spoke to me. The music was great and the interior was also nice and chill. I ordered the calamari tempura, ninja roll, Hawaiian roll, and the salmon roll. We come here at least 3 times a month. It's one of the freshest sushi places around town. Clean, spacious and plenty of seating. We come here quite often and it's usually a very good, reliable place to eat but it has gone downhill very rapidly. I ordered the teriyaki chicken under the impression I would receive white meat as usual. Instead I received all dark meat and was informed they no longer carried white meat. My food was brought out 30 minutes before my son's sushi and was cold by the time his sushi which was also warm for some reason. The food was inedible and still cost what we used to pay for high quality food they used to serve. If you enjoy Hooked on Sushi and haven't gone in a while DO NOT go it will ruin your opinion on what was once a great restaurant. read more

Hey Shrimp! This lunch special is fin-tastic :D I've never had my other half (a 6'5'' giant) say I'm full after sushi unless we order a whole whale. Not today though, he got full from one lunch combo! The rolls were B.I.G. It would have snapped any appetite! The service was not gilling around, either. Just moved to this area a little over a month ago, decided to take my family out to eat this sunday. When i tell you this is one of the best ramen and sushi places ive ever had ??? MAAAAAAN it was spectacular. First, the restaurants vibe was amazing. Anime posters, basketball, and just felt like it was made for me. it had all of my interests i was nerding out. and the food was genuinely all 9/10. honey sushi roll and k ramen were my dishes and they were so yummy. New owners- food quality, service, and even the knowledge of the menu was poor. They didn't know what came on their kids meal and then ran out of chicken nuggets. The ramen was gamey and so were the stir fried noodles. We loved this place with the old owners but won't be coming back read more

Service was horrible. Been dining and ordering takeout here for years and yesterday was just awful. Server was irritated when asked questions, didn't even say hello, mixed up our order and it was just a miserable experience. He was in an awful mood. I have spent thousands over the years and we not returning. The service level has steadily declined over the years here, but this was bad. Sushi was good, better than usual but the service ruined it for us. We always spend over 100, and we can't justify that with the service we received today. Do better. read more

My daughter tried hooked on sushi with friends and because of her excellent experience, the whole family came to try it. Between the four of us we ordered chicken fried rice, teriyaki chicken, and vegetable teriyaki. The entree is a good deal with salad and soup. Each plate came with edamame which was nice. My chicken was cool to the touch but they warmed it quickly. I wonder if a warm plate would solve that as the plate was cold to the touch. The service was good and ambiance was open and inviting. We always make the drive to Hooked on Sushi because their sushi is fantastic, and the deep-fried rolls are amazing! The place is always clean, and the staff is super friendly. However, I'm not a fan of their chicken dishes, including the kids' chicken teriyaki meals--the chicken has a bit of a smell. History

Established in 2008.

THE H.O.S.TORY Hooked on Sushi was a mom-and-pop shop originally founded by an elderly couple in their early 60s. In hopes for the restaurant to be an immediate success, the owners decided to sell the restaurant within less than a year of opening. The restaurant was sold to our current owners in December of 2009. On December 21, 2009 the re-born Hooked on Sushi was open for business. Minutes from opening for the first day was a concoction of big dreams, small expectations, nervousness, faith, and a sprinkle of pixie dust. The restaurant slowly picked up momentum through the hard work each team member put into the organization- and the restaurant was able to connect to its customers and build great relationships. The loyal customers began to bring their family, friends, and acquaintances. Popularity spread like wildfire. We always get amazing service from Mindy, so attentive and so nice! We always opt for indoor seating but the outdoor bar is great too. Even though it is a large space, the ambiance is great and good place to yap and eat some good food.

As an Izakaya there should be several non-ramen items on the menu but that was reduced to edamame (no spicy options) and a couple of onigiri. The place is cute with communal tables and booths. Unfortunately, the lack of Japanese cuisine knowledge makes it a no for me.
