GROSLEY INCOMPETANT!!! They had my car for almost 3 months. In that time I contacted them multiple times to get status on the repairs. On 2 different occasions I was told that the person in charge of my project was on vacation and I would have to wait until he gets back to find out the status of the repair. When I got the car back I found that there were items missing from my car including the seat covers. I was able to get the missing items back but they told me that they had thrown them away. The manager of the shop was supposed to get back with me about compensating me for the seat covers but nobody ever made any attempt to contact me about this. My seat covers were nothing fancy but it's the principle of the matter that bothers me so much. They did not even tell me they did it until I asked them where the seat covers were. To make things worse, after getting my car back I noticed that the windshield wipers did not work in any speed but low. I took it back to them and they replaced the wiper switch but this did not fix the problem and they claimed they simply could not figure out what the problem is and that they were in contact with the dealership. I contacted the dealership and asked them what the problem was and it turns out that nobody from Haury's had contacted them at all. I picked up my car and took it to the KIA dealership where I purchased the car from and they found that Haury's had miswired the wiper switch and had broken other wires that also needed to be replaced. This additional repair cost me over $400 to fix what they screwed up. read more

Very disrespectful and rude owner. Jeff Butler called us "a piece of sh**" when we decided to take our car to a different shop. They charged us $440 pretending that work has been done (all they did was removing a rear bumper). When at first he said that they are super busy and they won't start disassembling my car until a few months later. In reality all they want is money and they will charge you crazy prices once you tell them something they might not like. They charged me $125 for having my car for 1 day, and $315 for removing the rear bumper. Ridiculous prices!!! Jeff Butler also accused different insurance companies (especially Safeco) and said how bad they are and how they don't care about us. When in reality it is Haury's lake city collision is the one who doesn't care about the customers. Jeff will try to convince you to use your insurance instead of a third party claim to make sure to get as much money as he possibly can from your pocket! Don't go there if you want to have a pleasant experience. There are dozens of body shops out there that have better prices and professional staff. read more

When our car got badly damaged while parked in front of our home, Haury's provided a thorough, timely, and detailed estimate for fixing my car to like-new status, which was critical in dealing with the insurance process in my case. More importantly, they provided expert consultation on how to deal with the insurance process, likely outcomes, what the next steps would be.... all stuff I just don't have any experience with. I've been driving for over 40 years and I've never had to actually use insurance. So the process was baffling, and keeping track of the pitfalls was kinda scary. Haury's essentially took time at ZERO benefit to themselves to explain how it would likely go, even though one of the very likely outcomes was that the car would be totaled and they would get no business out of it. Sure enough, even though it still drove and worked fine, my car got declared totaled by the insurance company I was dealing with, so everything Haury's helped me with (repair estimate, several consultations over the phone, answering my super-nervous fraught questions) they ended up doing for FREE. When the dust settled and the insurance company took away my car and replaced it with a deposit to my bank account, I bought the Haury's crew a pizza. They probably deserved more, but I wanted to at least do something! read more

My 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia was side-swiped by a loose wheel bouncing down the road between lines of traffic, damaging both passenger doors, the rear quarter panel and the rear wheel and tire. One door was repairable, but the other and the rear quarter panel had to be replaced. Haury's repairs are undetectable, which I find amazing considering the car's metallic paint finish; I truly cannot see any difference in the paint between new and old. I did have to chase them more than I thought I should to check on progress, but i absolutely cannot complain about the quality of the results. Very highly recommended. I'd also give a big shout-out to my insurers, Mutual of Enumclaw; far from giving me any pressure about the claim, they suggested that I take the car to a specialist for the work, and settled the final estimate without question. My car was hit by another driver and I had it towed to Haury's since we had them do some work on another vehicle of ours a couple years ago. Unfortunately it was decided that it was not repairable. I was unable to get to my BMW to clean out my personal belongings before they wanted to tow it but they were kind and considerate to take my stuff out of the vehicle as well as advising us with insurance which was very helpful. They also did an impeccable job on our last vehicle which was a Cadillac and it looked brand new again! I highly recommend them for any collision repairs that you may have especially if it is a BMW since that is what they specialize in. I visited Haury's after a small incident involving my new BMW. Right from the first visit, the difference was evident. I had visited an insurance recommended shop and also another BMW certified shop before coming here but the level of detail with which Sam explained the process and caveats that might come along the way, was much better than the others. Since, it was a new vehicle, I wanted it to be repaired to new-like status with all OEM parts and factory repair techniques, hence I chose this shop over insurance recommended ones (even though I had to wait a few weeks before they could take the car in and were more expensive than others) The work that they did is amazing and the car looks and drives like nothing ever happened. During the entire process, they were always available to answer any questions. They also fixed couple of minor unrelated damages with no additional cost ! Their labor rates might be higher than what most insurance carriers would agree to pay but it's worth the money. read more

I said I'd rather not pay twice the value of my car for just her body work but she's only got 80k miles and I want a great job that won't need to be redone in a few short years. I got a brand new WRX and some idiot turned into my back bumper ripping it off. Haury's was recommended by my dealer. I have to say I was beyond satisfied. My insurance tried to argue some essential things that needed to be done, Jeff the owner actually got involved and helped us with the right lingo to use. Suddenly insurance was willing to pay everything. I'm forever in debt to Haury's. And my car has a harder paint to match, I gotta say it looks identical to how it looked before the crash. I have an older BMW with very low mileage. I wanted to take it to a good repair shop and did my homework and found Haury's Lake City Collison. They were able to schedule my repairs quite quickly and and pushed the insurance company for final approval so that repairs could be made. Haury's kept me in the loop with emails so I could see the status of the progression of my repair. After about 2 weeks I got a phone call and said my car was ready to be picked up. I inspected the work that they did on the front end of my car and it was flawless. I was very happy with the way my car turned out, the quality of work they did and the friendliness of their customer service. I took my car to Haury's following a minor accident. Haury's initial estimate was about $6,000. While I thought it was about 2x what it ought to be, I figured it might just be post-pandemic pricing. After disassembly, the estimate doubled. This freaked out the insurance company, who subsequently decided the car was totaled. Haury's reluctantly revised the estimate by reducing scope which was appreciated by the insurance company. Haury's then stated that they thought the estimate could still go up before they were finished with the work which was not appreciated by the insurance company. Result: car still totaled. I ultimately learned that Haury's method is expensive. They apparently are bound to replace everything in your car that looks remotely damaged. Maybe that is what they have to do to maintain their certification. Maybe that is what they have to do to "repair it right". Maybe that is what they have to do to make sure there is a clear pipeline to convert new parts and labor into cash paid for by insurance companies and recovered with customer's premiums. So, who wins here: Claimant? no, needs to go buy a replacement car in a seller's market. Yuck Insurance? no, they are forced to take the sure way out by offering cash to claimant Haurys? yes, they get compensated with daily storage fee while giving up minor shop time So, if you want your car to get totaled, try Haury's because they have a good chance of getting you over the threshold. If you want to keep your car, you might want to consider a different shop. Should I have gone somewhere else? yes. Do I wish I could do it over again and ask better questions up front? yep. Could Haury's be more transparent about their process and how it can lead to significant repairs that may be questionably necessary and exceed the total loss threshold? absolutely. read more

I tend to do some research before going to auto repair or body shops for major repairs. And got referals to Haury's from my BMW club friends that said this is the place I should consider getting my truck repaired. My experience was fantastic and I would highly recommend going to Haury's. They provided me a very detailed estimate with detailed breakdowns of labor and parts. I got my Land Rover Discovery rear quarter panel replaced and painted that had a 11 year old paint and they matched new panel to the original paint exactly; obviously their painter is fantastic. The cost ended up being almost exactly matching the estimate and I'm completely satisfied. If you have a need for major body repair, don't hesitate to drop by Haury's and talk with Jeff. Jeff is amazing, and was very helpful in explaining my legal rights after my car was horribly damaged. All I wanted was what was fair-- and the only fair solution was a full repaint on the car. The damage was that extensive. I eventually won the claim, a major victory considering the age of my car. During this loooong process I spent a lot of time in Haury's office. I drive a nice collectible german sports car and as such I get more favorable treatment say with valets, shops, etc. It just is what it is, right? Well, that does not matter at Haury's. I watched folks with old American jalopies or e-common-y Japanese cars visit Jeff and Zac for help with their car and their claim. The same gracious and patient service that was extended to me was extended to them! Other reviewers here are correct. Insurance companies (like mine) will try to steer you away from Haury's. That is wrong, and against the law. Haury's gets this kind of flak from them because they have chosen not to take insurance contracts. Doing so would degrade the quality of their work. What that means is they will not cut corners unless YOU want them to. YOU are in control of your repair at Haury's...not your adjustor. That is the major difference with this shop-- they work for YOU. One more thing: as a higher-end car driver I HATE IT when the insurance company sticks me is a bubbly little 4-cyl go-kart. That is probably more painful than the accident itself! But Haury's has the solution to that problem-- their rental program has what they call the 'Ultimate Rental Car', an E92 M3 (REALLY), and a very nice assortment of other FUN cars. This is the fifth repair job that Haury's has done for me over the past 15 years and every one was done in an outstandingly professional manner. Owner, Jeff Butler, assisted in gaining a diminished value payment from USAA on repairs to my 2013 Hyundai Sonata. This repair job was performed on my 2017 Hyundai Sonata also insured with USAA. I have been a USAA member for 60 years and received excellent claims service up until this claim where they declined to pay the full cost of repairs. Jeff Butler assisted me in writing a rebuttal to the USAA settlement offer. USAA responded by paying my claim in full. The Haury's staff, Brad and Taylor, kept me well informed regarding repair progress. My vehicle was repaired to pre-accident condition with a new OEM front bumper cover, left front fender and left headlight assembly and returned to me spotlessly clean inside and out. I highly recommend Haury's if you want your vehicle repaired to factory standards. The good news is my journey is complete. The real review comes in the journey itself. I had a referral to Haury's from two attorneys. To start, I had multiple phone calls and emails that weren't returned, When I called back, I got a female who was beyond confused. I was assured my information was being reviewed and I would be contacted. Weeks went by, I called back and was informed that the female in question was "No longer at Haury's" and the terrible service issue has been address. I was asked to provide new details and that a new work up would be completed. A week later, I hadn't been contacted and I called back for what must have been the 7th or 8th time. I was told that a response was sent, but my name had been misspelled. You don't have to be a genius to know that correcting the spelling allows you to resend the mail. But this shifty female typed a new generic letter why she attempted to keep me distracted. She also managed to pepper the conversation with questions required to craft her reply. I understood the merits of my Diminished Value claim, and knew the recovery would be low value. Because of this I asked that my information be reviewed and considered ahead of time saving me the hour-long drive if unnecessary. I was encouraged to come in and that Jeff would explain my case in detail. Due to traffic concerns, I left early. I ended up arriving 50 minutes early. I advised the receptionist that I was 50 minutes early and asked if I should stay or return. He told me to hold on while he talked to Jeff, he came back and said Jeff was finishing up and would be right with me. Jeff came back 50 minutes later only to tell me, he didn't think he was interested. He felt my case was strong, but didn't feel the overall effort was worth the time. I wasted my time driving all the way across the county to hear into that would have been better received over the phone or via email. On site, I was told to take a seat for a few minutes that ended up almost being an hour. An hour that I could have used to get gas or grocery shop and return. And the exchange between Jeff and I was completely one sided. I didn't feel like I had the opportunity to speak, ask questions or get the level of clarification I deserved based on all the above. Jeff told me he didn't want me to leave bitter, but that is the condition that he sent me away. I guess when you specialized in high value vehicles and insurance claims those of us driving $45,000 cars don't qualify for the same level of service. I can truly say Jeff specializes in Diminished Value, It's built into his DNA. read more

This review is for the Diminished Value Appraisals with Jeff Butler On 7/3/17, I met with Jeff and he gave me the impression that he got into the business of providing Diminished Value Appraisals for the customers. He inspected my truck and said I had a claim and I was charged $450.00 for the service. On 7/28/17, I received a zip file from Jeff's assistant. If I didn't read his appraisal before submitting it to my insurance I would not have caught all the typos. Clearly, Jeff or his assistant uses the same format for all his business and didn't care enough to change the old name to my name. I understand there's no need to recreate the wheel, but for $450 I expect some effort to double check the "sworn affidavit." 7/31/17, I was told this was the date I'd get it back. 8/3/17 is the day that I received the corrected version. I sent off my demand letter to insurance along with the affidavit provided by Jeff. Insurance responds and says that the appraisal does not support a basis to pay the demanded amount that Jeff provided. I ended up getting $800 less than what Jeff appraised. The amount I was at with previous negotiations before deciding to see if Jeff's service would be worth it. Jeff provides a service that is needed, but the lack of care shown on the original affidavit is what gets him one star. I understand his appraisal isn't a guarantee, but it felt more like a scam looking back on it. read more

Don't be fooled by the fancy cars they have out front - don't take your car here! Went to them a while ago to have work done to the passenger side door in the front - but I'm still traumatized! They were late getting the car done by 2 days - had to get a car rental for 2 extra days which was an inconvenience. Had to keep calling and calling to press them to finish our car - I guess since it was only a Honda and not a BMW or something we weren't high priority. When they FINALLY finished, we drove our car back and found out when they put our car together that they had left the little light on the bottom of the car door dangling out - wires and everything. We said - "whatever" - we didn't want them to keep the car for another week just to get the light back in place so we fixed it ourselves. I have been to that body shop 3 times now so it's not like I didn't give them a chance. Every time I went there I had pretty much the same experience. They never keep you updated on what they do and they never finish the work even close to when they said they would. They will tell you that a repair will take a week, then when a week later you call them they will tell you that somebody will call you back but he almost never does. Each time you talk to them they always sound annoyed and make you feel like they are too busy to talk to you. Actually out of three times I brought my car to them, twice I ended up taking it back after a week or so because they still didn't start working on the car and I woudl just bring it to Queen City Auto Rebuild instead, which is much better (just not as conveniently located for me). Last time I brought my car, I told them that it needed to stay inside because there was a small leak in the sunroof. I asked on the phone and then in person and both times they assured me that the car would stay inside. I dropped the car in the morning and when I was passing by in the late afternoon, I saw the car hadn't been moved and sat outside all day in pouring rain! The second thing I asked was if they would have time to complete the work in one week because I was leaving on vacation. They said that they would but when I called one day before I was leaving, they actually hadn't even started working on it!!! Not only that, they didn't even care to call me to tell me about it. The work they do is actually very good, you just need to be prepared to be VERY patient and understanding. A friend of mine brought an old Mercedes to them and they did a pretty good job fixing it so in the end sometimes you do get what you pay for. On the other hand when I asked them to fix some rust on my floor panel, they did it but neglected to lift the gas pedal and left the pedal bracket rusted and unpainted. I would definitely expect them to be more thorough given the prices they charge. read more

AVOID Summary: Don't let the website, or any promises of quality workmanship fool you. This shop is substandard even beyond a shop that focuses on high volume insurance work (preferred shop). They don't meet deadlines, the work is very sloppy, and worst of all they try to sell their mistakes as normal procedure. That's really all you need to know to make a decision on this place, but if you want some of the details then read on. A whole lot went down at this place, but I'll try to keep this brief. My E30M3 was hit in the front bumper while parked. The hood was dented, and the bumper pushed in to the point that the radiator was nearly touching the accessory pulleys. I normally bring all of my vehicles to Queen City in Redmond (and recommend them to everyone), but since I now live in Ballard I thought I'd try somebody local (huge mistake). After browsing their website, and speaking with Jeff Butler I was assured that they were familiar with the E30 M3, and had very high standards. It was made clear that this is not an everyday commuter car, and they acknowledged that fact. They specialize in BMW. Fast forward 4 months. Trung at the front desk was great to deal with throughout the process (despite the fact that they said it would be done several weeks previously). I didn't arrive until almost dusk, but I wanted to get the car home! The car was out front, but it would not start which was a little fiasco in itself. But I got it home and slipped it into the garage where I could inspect it closer. Disaster. Dozens of mistakes from runs, massive overspray under the hood and the undercarriage, misaligned door and fender, bumper tape peeling, wheel paint chipped, leaking coolant, air box intake missing, bent exhaust tips, grill emblem off center, broken alarm key fob. It goes on and on. It took 4 months to make this mess initially. We battled for the next 8 months getting all this fixed. The costs kept climbing to the point that we exceeded the replacement cost of the car. You should know that Jeff Butler is not only the president of Haury's, but also the Seattle member of Collision Consulting. He argues for a living, so you're not going to win one with him. He never once said, yea, we messed this up and we'll take care of it. Instead he kept pointing out how the car is better than when I brought it in. Well yea, it was wrecked when I brought it in! I'm not paying you to make it better, I'm paying you to make it right! He also brought in a 'BMW Specialist' who is well known in the community to back him up, but of course he had nothing to say in support of Haury's poor workmanship. Felt bad for the guy being put in the middle of it all. This is where Haury's either chimes in with their form letter response, or they'll make a nice reponse on how they went above and beyond and I'm just a difficult customer. They're half right, as I am a difficult customer. When you bring in a collector car with the clear instruction to make it right, that's what you do. Oh, and when I went to pick up the car after a year of this nonsense they wouldn't take a check from me. Made me go to the bank and pull out cash! I've said all I care to. Go here at your own risk. read more

Twenty-nine days to replace a bumper, and it gets worse. This was minor damage, the neighbor bumped into our car while parallel parking. When Haury's returned the completed vehicle the repairs were still incomplete (one scratched panel was missed), the battery was dead, there was new minor damage to the rear bumper (possibly parked too close to another vehicle) and the whole car looked like a giant swirl. In response to my concerns our insurer sent a re-inspector who determined some parts that were billed as new had not been replaced. Ultimately, I had to open another claim to cover the new damage. I could go into more detail about the shenanigans that played out during the month long repair process, but you get the idea. I have an older, but cared for, luxury import and a high-net worth insurer. Do business with this body shop at your peril. read more

Haury's does quality work. After my 2006 BMW 330i was rear-ended, everyone in the region - dealers, enthusiasts, BMWCCA members - all said Haury's. You definitely can't tell there was work done. The paint, body, and aluminum frame repairs were expertly performed. My only complaint was that the communication was not always perfect, and the time for the repair took a lot longer than estimated - but you won't find a body shop that doesn't have these traits. Their business is fixing your car well, and Haury's does this. Your experience may vary. Some caution: your insurance company might be inclined to rate them 0/5, since they actually use precision equipment and don't bill labor the same as an estimator may want. That said, the staff at Haury's is more than knowledgeable in these situations and has great advice. 9/08 Update: I was rear-ended again (!) and selected Haury's again; since my last experience, it seems that they've hired more office staff or are taking the time to keep customers better informed.
