    Tres leches
    Elisa L.

When we arrived, it was busy, but luckily we didn't wait long before we were seated. When we sat down, we ordered our Spanish sodas. Then, for our entree my boyfriend ordered ropa vieja, white rice and black beans and I ordered Vaca frita, Congri and maduros. Our food tasted amazing! Being from Miami and Cuban we have tried plenty of Cuban food and it honestly tasted like my own Abuela's cooking. When you're here, they treat you like your family. For dessert, we also ordered a tres leches. Overall, we left stuffed and happy that we stopped in for dinner. We will definitely be recommending this place to our family and friends and will be coming back next time we're in Orlando.

The service wasn't the best. Us being the only ones there along with another lady by herself we did have to wait a good while for our drinks to get refilled. When the bill came, we didn't get a heads up that the 20% tip was included so I left another 20% tip on top of that because I didn't know. Turns out every order includes a 20% tip without you having a say in it, FYI it's in small print on the menu. THIS IS HOW THEY TRY TO RIP YOU OFF. Keep an eye out for this if you come. Paid $300 for a fam of 4. Definitely will not be stopping by again. By the way, they also have art on the wall if you want to buy it, each $800+ by the way.

There was so much rice and not enough chicken bites. The flavoring was really good and would consider this as good comfort food.

We came here many years ago and it kept a place in our mind due to the great flavor. Years later it is as great as we remember. We had the appetizer with the combination. A bit pricey but well worth it. We loved everything we tried. They brought us a hot sauce that was on point. Now the seafood mofongo we had with a garlic tomato sauce and its chefs kiss. The sauce combined with the crispiness of the mofongo and the seafood. We loved it!!!! Only thing is they do add a service charge of 20% and it was just my husband, me and kid. Not an issue since I plan to tip that. But just a heads up The service was great so it's not an issue. Will definitely return before this trip ends

Amazing food and service. Taste just like homemade Cuban food that my grandmother would make. The ropa veija was phenomenal. Will be back.

Lovely food, many choices. My meal was wonderful- Ropa Viejo with sweet Plantains, Cuban rice and beans has so much great flavor. The meat is shredded and tender, plantains are such a perfect complement along with rice/black beans. We got here early, tired from playtime at the Kennedy space center and hungry. this was a perfect choice My husband had oxtails and love them- cooked slowly and tender. Beautiful art on the walls, and my favorite music too. Thanks for our relaxing dinner!

I am always up to trying a Cuban Restaurant. Cuban Cuisine is my favorite. There is plenty of parking. This location is on a shopping plaza. It is smaller than I thought from the pictures. Customer service was a 5! I was seated right away and waiter was very polite. The restaurant has a cozy bar area with a TV. I struggled to give details about my food experience because it's always hard for me when it's not a good one. I started with a red sangria and water. Drinks came out right away. Unfortunately not what I was hoping for. The sangria was watered down with no fruits at all. For an entrée, I ordered the Churrasco. The rice and beans are considered two sides so I had to pay additional for the sweet plantains. The churrasco was far from tender or a flank steak as described in the menu. It was served over onions and peppers, more like a fajita style steak. The rice was undercooked and hard. For dessert I ordered a flan. This was the only good item I ordered. The most surprising/frustrating thing was when I got my bill. Surprises, surprises, surprises. The menu listed the Churrasco at $32, the bill listed it at $33.28? Maduros (sweet plantains) at $6, charged $6.24. I ordered extra flans to go, each at $6(x4). Charged $24.96. Then they automatically add 20% gratuity. Maybe this is something new? It was just me. Sales tax was charged additionally.

    Combinacion Cubana Cuban Combination
    Fabu L.

The combinacion appetizer really was a sampling of their major dishes and way more than enough to feed 3. We love empanadas and ordered two extra so we could each have one. They did not disappoint and were filled to the brim with well seasoned meat and a nice crispy crust. The Vaca Frita was by far the best of our three meals and was excellently seasoned with the perfect blend of lemon and pepper and crisp! Loved every bite. The masas de cerdo was also well cooked; but, I would have liked a bit more crisp to it but it was tender inside and very palatable. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we could only take a bite of the arroz con pollo (looking forward to it for lunch tomorrow) and it had the most tender chunks of chicken and superb rice. I am an olive in the rice person and missed nice big olives. This arroz con pollo was not a fish filled one (fish allergy) and that was a plus. The batida was one of the best I have tasted in the area and was thick (made with milk) and had a guanabana powerful flavor. The homemade sangria was decent but lacked a punch and could have used more real fruit (this fruit seemed like the Dole canned fruit). The service was top notch!! Felt well attended to and the food came hot yet quick. The interior was filled with some really nice paintings and Cuba pics. The chairs are not the most comfy but then again it's not the living room. Very clean and well maintained.

We really enjoyed Havana's Cuban Cuisine. Food was excellent, portions were decent, and the service was great. The criollo red sauce on the camarofongo was delicious. Just the right amount of garlic. Would recommend.

Vaca Frita w Cuban rice (rice an black beens cooked together ) and plantain
    Dee R.

Taking advantage of a timeshare spiel, the Cuban salesman recommended his fav Cuban meal: Vaca Frita So I yelped and found this place within a bike ride of the resort. SOOO happy I did!! Closed on Sundays, was glad it was opened on Monday and I pedaled to it after the resort tour and when it opened at 2p Only two couples inside, I found a seat near the window so I could keep an eye out on my bike. The server spoke more English than I do Spanish, but we got help from the gentleman behind the counter (I overhead from convo with another patron/ he's not the owner. But he seemed to really care about the place). He continuously made sure I knew my bike was safe and they had cameras all around It's in a strip mall, and midday, but I'm mindful of complacency and letting guard down while on vacation that can lead to unhappiness...so I kept my eye on it Torn between the oxtail and the Vaca frita, I decided to try what I came for. The VF. Added a Cuban soda. And was NOT disappointed According to the host: they boil a cut of beef, till you can shred it. Then they season it well and fry it up crispy...think beef jerky that is shredable. VERY chewy, but DELICIOUSLY SEASONED! OMG it was seasoned!! I forced myself NOT to eat it all in one setting, JUST so I could have more the next day (I even asked for more onions: next time I'd ask for extra onions from the onset, so they get hard friend and seasoned from the beef) It comes w two sides, and since the Cuban rice is "rice/bean combined" I got it, and the plantain(cooked perfectly!). I actually ordered a serving of Cuban rice to-go, ro ensure I had a duplicate meal the next day The Cuban "beans and rice" was darker than the usual Jamaican bnr: he said cause they partially cook the black beans first and then ADD Rice so it really soaks in the dark juice! (Don't get me wrong, I love my Jamaican bnr. But this was great too!) Not much of a soda drinker, the Metava? (hmm tea/7up concept) Cuban soda was pleasant (hindsight: I should've gotten one of them to go as well) HMMMM. Minorly perturbed that they automatically charge 20% gratuity PLUS 3.5% for using a credit card. So plan to add over 25%+ mark up on your food after you also include taxes My total was $40 and I paid cash!! But again..turned it into two meals (I'd ordered a side to-go). I didn't get a receipt so can't vouch for the correctness of the bill I paid cash, so saved a little. And likely would have left a 25% tip since the food was so good, the guy very helpful in suggesting options, showing and explaining the variety of sodas, and making me comfortable about my bike Def a recommended place Note: lots of paintings on the wall for sale. I'm assuming it's local. But, biking..it was hard enough carrying my leftovers in my small back pack

Does chips come with the meal?

Good afternoon!! If you do a yelp check in and order 2 maim course dinner you will get an order of the plantains chips..

I'm looking at the prices and I am appalled. I am also looking st the menu and 1) churrasco, 2) tres leches, and 3) mofongo are NOT Cuban dishes! (I would know - I'm Cuban). Is this place worth it?

Majority of Cuban restaurants provide these type of dishes (tres leche, churrasco and mofongo ) to compliment their menu. I'm glad that they do because all three you mentioned are fantastic and go great with Cuban Cuisine. You say you are Cuban ??…

Is this a kid friendly atmosphere and is the food kid friendly too?

Kid friendly, saw kids there when I was there. Kids just ordered from the main menu. Pretty sure, kids would be able to find something they like.

I got the Hungry Sauce medium and it was super tasty. It was A LOT of food. However, I think the name is a little deceptive. One appetizer, one seafood boil, and one dessert is all you need. I would rename it 3-course-meal. That would be a more accurate description. The place was seafood tacky. Just the ambiance you would expect from a crab shack. Our server was AMAZING. I wish I remembered her name because I would absolutely ask for her again if I go back. My bill for 3 lunches was $205. I don't feel like I got my value for the price. We ate our meals with a paper plate and plastic utensils. Again, for the price, they could give us sturdier eating elements. All in all, it was somewhere I'm glad I experienced just to say I did it. Therefore, we opted for indoor seating and the delightful air conditioning in today's 97 degree heat. The food was very good. The Jamaican jerk chicken wings are seasoned well. This time, they were slightly dry instead of perfect like last time. The grilled chicken with cilantro-crema, mashed potatoes and corn remains my favorite dish on the menu. Ask for a side of the sauce too; it's that good. The cheeseburger and fries was standard and okay but unremarkable, which means it was perfect for my mom who is a picky eater and not adventurous. Pro-Tip: if you are headed somewhere with a refrigerator, order the full portion of the grilled chicken with cilantro-cream and take one breast and some mashed potatoes home for another meal. The full portion is only $3 more than the light version, but comes with a second piece of chicken breast. Otherwise, save the $3 because one breast is plenty filling. You could also consider sharing the full portion plate to save room (and money) for apps or dessert. We chose the flaming pineapple butter cake for dessert. It arrived piled high with pineapples and vanilla ice cream on the side. When the server lit the sauce then poured it, the flames danced. However, not all the alcohol burns off. The cake was saturated and tasted of alcohol where it was poured. Warning: Check your receipt. We were charged $2.99 for trivia games we did not play and $0.50 extra for cheese when the item ordered was a cheeseburger listed as coming with cheese on the menu for $18.99.

We were a bit concerned about the restaurant being our main option due to the bad/mixed reviews of the food. We decided to do a set menu in order to best present to our dinner guests. Just under a week before our reservation, I called the restaurant to talk to someone about arranging a set menu and was told I would have to speak with the manager, but that he was busy at the moment. From then on, I called multiple times and left voicemails that were not returned, or I was told the manager was busy or in meetings. I even went as far as to see if the hotel phone operator could connect me to a direct line, since the manager was apparently the only one who could help. I finally got the manager on the phone 45 minutes before my reservation, after insisting I wait on the line for him to come to the phone. Suffice it to say, he apologized for the delay, explained that he had been off work for several days, and said that 45 minutes was too short a turnaround to organize the set menu for our dinner guests. The biggest problem, whether he was busy, on PTO, or otherwise, is this: Why was no one else on the front-of-house team equipped with the knowledge and skills to finalize a set menu for our dinner? I have planned these types of small dinners and events my entire career, in different cities across the US and with different types of restaurants -- so I am more than a little surprised at how unprofessional or unprepared this restaurant was. I am leaving this review in hopes of helping other event planners avoid a similar issue -- this restaurant may be more accustomed to tourists or typical diners than corporate reservations.
