My partner and I stayed here twice. It felt like a beach motel but it grew on me so I was open to staying again. The first time we stayed, the bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and we were able to use their bikes to bike to town and grab breakfast. It was cute. However, our most recent stay was a bust. We decided to stay on a whim since we were supposed to camp but it was cold and raining. We booked on HotelTonight. They put us in room #8. The bed was a mattress topper on a box spring. I'm not exaggerating. It was so uncomfortable and hard to sleep on overnight. In the morning, we could hear everything going on in the reception area next door and the heavy footsteps of the guests above us. There wasn't heating in the room other than a space heater. The shower products are quality, but overall, it was a bad experience. I'm glad that I got a discount through HT instead of paying full price. Our most recent trip was during their off season and there were maybe 2-3 cars parked at most so it's bizarre that they would choose such terrible rooms and house everyone close to each other. The next night we camped in the Hither Hills and slept better. Unfortunately, I wouldn't book here again. read more

This is such a cute place to stay with basic amenities, but the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere make it even better. This place is close to a bay beach and some food trucks that had better food than I'd had on the tip of the island during my previous days staying elsewhere. Jasmine is so sweet and kind. She also pointed me to some delicious food after I complained about the food offerings where I was staying prior. There's some nice ambiance here as well. The pool was clean and the visitors were polite and all said hello. They have MALIN+GOETZ in the showers and fluffy towels that are cleaner than a whistle. It was pretty easy to stay here and being close to the beach made it extra nice. I would totally recommend checking out the shop in the welcome area and treat yourself to some of the cute items on offer! read more

This across the street from the beach stay offers a private beach, free bikes (some electric) and paddle boards for guest to use during their stay. They also offer beach passes to the state beaches for guest use too. The room was bright, spacious and airy. Lots of complementary items such as s'mores welcome pack, bottled water, sparking water, and coffee. I chose this place because it was considerably less expensive than most other places so I didn't go in with high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. The pool area is cute with multiple lounging options. It has has a side yard with a fire pit and several Adirondack chairs, corn hole and a gas grill with picnic benches. read more

Came here for 4 days for my birthday week and it was perfection! The vibe of the place rocks! Love all the fun common spaces to relax and chill. The firepit and garden area is super relaxing. The pool area is nice and spread out with different places to veg out. And you're steps away from the beach! They provide free beach chairs, paddle boards, bikes, and access to a grill. What more could you ask for?! The room was really clean and pretty spacious - our queen beds were super comfy! I would come back here next summer in a heartbeat! You're also super close to restaurants and can bike to Gosman's super quick. Also, Goldberg's Bagel Shop is about a 5 min walk for a quick breakfast. I can't say better things about this place. Had a great two day stay here recently. It was off season and at the beginning of the week, so we got a good daily rate. We booked a single room suite, which was plenty of room for two people who were planning on spending most of the day out and about. The front desk isn't 24 hours, so get in any requests before 7pm when the office closes. There's a fire pit in a garden area on the side of the hotel (there's an emergency number you can call for anything that can't wait till the morning). Fire starts at 7pm. Overall, a good stay. My only issue was we found a rather large blonde hairball on the bathroom floor. Both of us have black hair. Yuck. read more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Haven Montauk last week and was quite happy all around. I came after season so the rates were a bit lower. Fresh, clean, pleasant, light and airy. Every member of the staff was attentive and professional. I love that they have water with ice and sliced oranges outside all the time. Great for refilling your own water bottles. Coffee is out from morning along with apples and Chobani yogurt. I love the fact the it's on the bay instead of the busier part of Montauk. And so nice to be able to jump on one of their complimentary beach bikes and head into town. I look forward to returning. Thank you! read more

What a great time! I came here for a night with my boyfriend to get away from city life. I have never stayed in a hotel that was not "in town" and was excited yet apprehensive to be staying somewhere that I couldn't walk to my food or other activities. It ended up being a great choice! Firstly, they let us check in an hour early! The welcome package came with s'mores & a little hand drawn guide book all about places to eat & things to do around Montauk. This hotel stands out compared to any other hotel I've stayed at in Montauk! (and I've stayed at a lot) The people who work here are so friendly & helpful! They gave us a late check out & they will hold your bags and allow you to hang around the facility after you check out for the day. The pool area was clean & had a lot of space to lay out. The fire pit at night was such a nice touch. We were staying on a Sunday night so the town was pretty dead once it got dark. The fire gave us something to do & we made some new friends while roasting our s'mores! They also offered bikes and paddle boards to use for the day. This hotel is pretty close to a residential area so it was nice to bike around the quiet streets & admire the beautiful houses and views. There was so much offered to us! The room was quaint and had all we needed. The king bed was HUGE. The TV had more stations than I've ever been able to get staying in MTK. The fridge was a good size & the bathroom was very clean & smelled nice. The room overall was clean & smelled like it has just been cleaned before we got there. A short walk away is Gosman's Dock which has restaurants & a few stores. If you drove here, the drive into town is 5 minutes & if you're planning on drinking an uber into town is only $15. Nice enough. I personally had a problem with the a/c. There's no remote and I had a lot of trouble reaching the on button because it's so high up on the wall. Additionally, there is no grab bar in the shower - that was a big problem for us. Pool is nice . read more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Haven Montauk for 2 nights / 3 days and this being our first trip to Montauk, we felt very lucky to stumble upon this great spot! The staff was extra helpful and went out of their way to help us out with any requests or questions about the area. The rooms were extremely clean and recently remodeled. The motel also features a small pool with new outdoor furniture and relaxing (mostly) music. There are two small beaches and several restaurants within walking distance of the motel. One added bonus was the Solé bicycles that you can take for a ride - free of charge. Only setback is that the blue haven is a $12 cab ride to the plaza & the main Montauk beach area. read more

$500/night for a 2-star looking room with a broken bed we had to fix, a toilet that kept running, bathroom was so tiny, fridge was dirty with last guest's food in there, and paper thin walls and floors so we heard every little movement above us and noise next door. Like other reviewers this a tastefully renovated, simple and chic boutique motel/hotel in the far end of Lake Montauk with great restaurants and a calm beach within short walking distances. The staff is friendly and will help you with a beach pass, a bike, a skateboard or even a parasol. The pool is a great spot to hangout. A grill is available for those guests with enough motivation to do their own cooking! Only, rather small, issues: the bathrooms are super small for the price, there is no bar (I believe they can set one up in the lounge area in the reception) and the complimentary morning coffee is actually bad. Shhhhh. Great Montauk hotel , the best value in town, very reasonable priced, nice clientele and Excellent location and stay for our family of 4... wish we have more than 2 nights here. Considering the food is extremely expensive in town it was nice to have this option. There's a great small bay beach 200 ft away from the hotel. Arizona drinks are still aplenty. We ate at Gosmins (3 minute walk) and watched the boats into the inlet. They have passes for Ditch plains, get there early parking is hard to come by. We all fell in LOVE with Montauk this trip. read more

I LOVE Haven Montauk! Traveling to Montauk from NYC, I prefer not to be right in the middle of town. Haven is a short cab ride away. A quiet little piece of heaven. love to grab a bottle of wine from the wine store across the street and lounge on a pool side bed and watch my daughter swim, then cross the street to the beach to watch the sunset! LOVED Haven Montauk! Located in the perfect place ; super clean; awesome coffee, rose, and toiletries! The grounds are lush with several little places to relax and enjoy Montauk! We took the bikes into Grosman's Docks for lunch, ice cream, and shopping ! Within couples miles to Ditch Plains and other small enclaves to enjoy paddle boarding and simply enjoying Montauk. Our kids LOVED Haven especially the s'mores and pool and overall feeling cozy yet clean! I wanted to love this place (family owned, visually appealing, great location). Multiple factors made it impossible. Just returned from a three night, four day stay with my boyfriend (Tuesday through Friday). We are both working professionals with limited time off, and were looking forward to a laid back beach break. I have visited Montauk for years so I know what to expect (simple, no frill bungalow-style motels) and all I request is a clean place to stay. We are not high maintenance and very self-sufficient, however, the service were received here was so off-putting, I would never return. Let me elaborate. The motel seems to hire young workers who are untrained. Check-in and check-out were riddled with mistakes, and we were provided with no information (ie- where are the towels? where is the ice bucket? where is the additional parking lot when it gets full?). When you ask a question of these young desk workers, you are given a blank stare and attitude. The motel is NOT cheap during the week (we paid over $300/night, however, the weekly guests are treated as subpar to weekend guests). It became a running joke for us that on Friday, as we were leaving, it was a different hotel! Suddenly, the staff was helpful and smiling...there was newspapers available, champagne and towels by the pool, cushions on the rock hard loungechairs, etc. Is my money not green enough? If these reasons are not enough to stay elsewhere...the sink in my room had zero water pressure (drip, drip, drip), and the shower took twenty minutes to heat up before we could step in read more

While the staff are friendly and personable, the accommodations are not clean (room smelled of mildew due to the AC and the bathroom door was rusted and broken so it would not open fully. We had to squeeze ourselves in and out of the tiny bathroom, which had a shower that backed up with debris. Despite the Haven's claim to be disinfecting the rooms, the bedding and pillow cases smelled of sweat when we arrived the first night and were covered in not one but 3 different types of hair! We also had hair inside the complimentary "s'mores kit" with ingredients that were halved and open inside the bag. I was charged $700+ a night including a dog cleaning fee and we could not stay because the wifi was so poor and had online meetings to attend but kept getting kicked off by the wifi. We were on the first floor in a 2 bedroom apartment and the noise from people walking above us upstairs was so loud, we were up most of the night. Dogs and kids were extremely distressed. Montauk is a beautiful destination but this hotel is a scam. The website is totally misleading... beautiful staged photos not true to life. read more

Haven Montauk is a solid 3 Star Hotel. Hot water, comfortable beds (Ikea Furniture) and clean rooms. The staff was friendly and always available to call a taxi. My one complaint is the wi-fi was very spotty (if existent at all) and there is very little cell coverage in this part of Montauk. In short, Haven is the ideal place to stay if you you just need a place to crash and will be spending most of your time out exploring Montauk. read more

Nice hotel renovated thoughtfully clean rooms and convenient location by the bay. Comfortable lounge furniture by the pool to chill out, pool is always cold not heated. Also the picnic area is a good option in the evening. The major problem with this hotel is the smug woman who runs this place. Checking in is like you are inconveniencing her. She is rude and has zero people skills. As another reviewer mentioned when the weekend comes she becomes a different person to cater to the upper east side and European clients that she wants there who are paying top dollar.
