I can't be more dissatisfied with this company. They don't hesitate to provide horrible service, even to local families. Initially, communication with them, whether it be through email or over the phone, was great. They were upfront with their pricing and billing practices. My vehicles were picked up from Las Vegas June 12th and were scheduled to be delivered to Hilo, HI around July 7th. We were moving back home to Hawaii and were hoping those vehicles would arrive around when we flew back, July 9th. The vehicle tracking system they provided showed our vehicles arriving in Oahu June 28th. Everything seemed to be going smoothly. It is now July 23rd. Our vehicles are still sitting in Oahu, at least that's what I can assume. The representatives from the company haven't responded to my emails and last Monday it took my wife and I almost 4 hours of consistent calling, to the direct line I had for our representative, and to the customer service line provided on their website. Once I finally got someone on the line, we were immediately put on hold for another 30 minutes. Eventually I was told that they didn't have a definite ETA for our vehicles because they were waiting on a transport to the Big Island. Mind you, our vehicles have been sitting in Oahu since June 28th and it's now July 23rd. We've been borrowing a vehicle from my dad since we got back home July 9th. My wife starts a new job as a high school teacher here locally July 28th and we have three young children that I'll have to find a way to get to school starting August 3rd. I'm trying to figure out how we're gonna do this with just one vehicle (that we're borrowing). It's been 41 days since our vehicles were picked up in Las Vegas for transport to the Big Island. My wife starts her teaching job in 5 days. My kids start school in 11 days. Just a recommendation to possible future customers looking to ship their vehicles from the mainland back to Hawaii. Stay away from this company. Just contact Matson directly. This company will communicate with you frequently in the beginning to get your service but once they've got your payment, they won't hesitate to move on from you. ​I've got 11 days to find another vehicle to borrow from someone or rent a car, without an ETA on our vehicles at all. 25 days sitting in port in Oahu is crazy. I paid for Port-to-Door service and did not receive what I was promised. My vehicle was scheduled to arrive on Tuesday 07/07. I did not hear anything by mid-day, so I called and was told someone would get back to me; I later received an email stating it would still be delivered that day. The exact same pattern repeated on Wednesday 07/08, Thursday 07/09, and Friday 07/10. On Friday I finally received a call from the carrier, who said he could not enter my subdivision and asked me to meet him on a main road over 25 minutes away on foot. This is not a gated community, and this same vehicle has been picked up from my address before when I shipped it to Hawaii, so access should not have been an issue. I tried to work with the carrier and offered to meet him at my workplace at Nellis Air Force Base. We scheduled a time, but he later reported that his truck had broken down and was no longer drivable. I ultimately had to travel to where the truck broke down--about 26 minutes from my home--to pick up my car myself, despite having paid for Port-to-Door service. Not only was delivery delayed over multiple days, but I also did not receive the level of service I paid for. When I called Hawaii Car Transport on Monday 07/13 to discuss this, the representative I spoke with was dismissive and unprofessional. She repeatedly interrupted, seemed impatient, and ultimately hung up on me when I asked for her name. When I called back, I reached the same representative, who again ended the call immediately after providing her name, without any resolution or offer to escalate my concerns. Her name was Carley. All I have asked for is to speak with a manager or someone who can address the service failure and billing discrepancy. Based on this experience, I am unlikely to use this company again or recommend them in the future, despite having done so many times in the past. read more

I hate leaving negative reviews but people really do need a WARNING dealing with this company. My vehicle arrived completely damaged. When I submitted a claim they GASLIT ME and told me basically I dropped my car off damaged. Luckily. I just had a vehicle inspection the week before and had to register my car. Which would not have passed with a broken side mirror. They made me sign off upon drop off but failed to tell me I was signing basically saying no damages were caused. That back fired. Anyway, I had to submit a dispute through my bank and surprise surprise they suddenly wanted to settle. But I had to sign a release form which was weird and I didn't feel comfortable signing since they weren't honest to begin with. Chase ended up giving me a full refund of $2740.00 so I can get my car fixed THANK GOD. This company is shady and does not operate in good faith do NOT give them your car or sign anything without looking at ANY damages. When they delivered the car to her, she was asked to pay another $300 which was never mentioned to us when we dropped the car and whenever we had the chance to speak with someone on the phone which is rare to have anyone answer a call nor either email us back. We knew when our car was in California because of the tracking system on it, we waited and waited for someone to contact us letting us know when it arrive to our home. Instead it sat in California for quite a long time. Once it did arrive it was damaged and the driver gave some biz story about how the damage occurred. Trying to get ahold of anyone regarding getting the damages resolved has been extremely difficult. We are weeks into this mess and have done everything required of us and still don't have resolution to our claim. Please be vigilant and keep after them. The agent originally told me payment was due upon completion of shipment. I asked multiple times to make sure this was correct. To my surprise, I was later given a call from Lana stating that payment needed to be submitted in full before my car was shipped. I spoke with an agent who confirmed my car wouldn't ship, and I told them it's fine. I would be picking up my car from the port and going with a different company. To my surprise, they shipped the car anyway and are now trying to hold my vehicle for ransom and threatening to leave it in California. They are also refusing to send me information on my car now. I suggest not using this company. Zero communication, and do not believe their estimated destination pickup date. The only good part was the transporter from VA to CA. He was very nice and met me to pick up my vehicle as planned. He also updated me when he got to CA to drop my truck at the port. This is where the problems started. My truck sat at the port for 3 weeks, missing several ships to HI. I contacted HCT several times and all they could tell me was "sorry, we don't have any information". The person was always nice, but had nothing to offer. It finally shipped, so I was happy for a minute. Then it sat at the port in HI for over a week before I got the the information to pick it up. Basically, they took my money, called a trucking company, made an appointment for the ship, and that is it. I could have done all that myself, likely saved money, and probably had a better understanding of what was going on the whole time. Truck picked up in VA 4/13, to CA port 4/20. HCT Est pickup in HI 5/5. Actual date my truck was available for pickup in HI 6/2. No updates and no communication in the month of delay from HCT. Terrible! I choose port to door delivery from Honolulu supposed to be to my house in Delaware. The website was wrong and didn't give a correct estimated delivery date. The driver texted us 4 hours before asking "are you home" then when he got to the area called and said we can't deliver it to your door. Lots of back and forth, the manager called and was literally laughing at me being like "do you not understand" and ended up hanging up on me mid sentence, in the end we literally had to go out to the freeway and they unloaded another car that was blocking my car and mine on the side of a major highway. Would not recommend to anyone. This is my second time shipping with HCT. The first time was easy enough but this last time was a nightmare. I spent 15+ hours trying to coordinate a drop off time so we could align our flights with when the car needed to be dropped off. The rep told us the wrong dates multiple times and I had to play phone tag between HCT and Pasha. I then wanted to look into having HCT transport my vehicle directly to my door upon shipment arrival after receiving multiple marketing emails advertising the service. I spoke with a rep and was sent a quote only to have that quote become 4 times the amount once I was ready to proceed. They said it was a "quoting error" and the manager made no effort to make it right. What you see is what you should get with a quote. Especially when it comes from a rep and not an online calculator. Because of this I had to book a last minute flight to go get the car which cost me more than I would have paid originally. TL;DR - Stay far away from this company and just book directly with pasha or another shipping company. They are a broker so they provide no value outside of a fee to coordinate the shipment. Unfortunately I wish I could have had a better experience. It started off great and we were happy to have a company handle the shipping from Honolulu to Seattle. We were quoted and told they would drop off the car at our chosen location in Seattle. The day of the drop off, we were told they were not scheduled to drop off and it would stay in the lot and there was nothing they could do, the earliest would be Monday. I was at work and could not leave to pick up the car. Now it's Monday (even though we confirmed multiple times the car would be dropped off today) and they first said there was an issue with the tow truck and now that it's a holiday so no one can drop it off and no one would be at the dock to let me pick up my car. We knew it was a holiday and asked and were assured it would be delivered today. This is disappointing and will cost us over $100 just to try to figure out how to get a temporary car again to make it to work. I am so disappointed with the lack of communication and ability to honor contracts. I understand changes happen but none of this was communicated and we were expected to adjust for their errors. We had the car picked up at a dealership in Palo Alto, moved to Oakland, and shipped to Honolulu. Car arrived way ahead of schedule in the same condition as when it left. Yes it was dirty, but what do you expect. They do give you a car wash coupon so that was unexpectedly nice. Pickup at the dock was a breeze too. I would use them again for sure. It did take longer than we expected and there wasn't a lot of accurate updates on the Transport Tracker (It took about a week longer than expected to deliver). I will say, I was able to reach someone every time I called for an update or had a question, and the woman I spoke with was extremely nice and had great customer service. I don't know if this is a problem with the delivery company or with Hawaii Car Transport but we were told someone would call to schedule the drop off. I got a call in the morning when the driver was outside of my house! Luckily, I took a sick day and was able to get it. But if I was at the office, I don't know what would've happened. Estimated delivery got pushed back a week with NO courtesy call to let us know the car wouldn't be delivered that day. Not once... but TWICE. Leaving my parents to have their plans on hold for 2 whole days waiting for a car that still hasn't showed. Both me and my mom tried to get in contact with Blake, the guy that booked the service, to get any updates. He was great during the booking process (actually upcharged me when it was time to book and gave me 'tude when I asked about it, so we'll call him mediocre). UPDATE: we discovered that in a bottom compartment in our trunk, they also stole the jumper cables, jack, and first aide kit that came with our car. I do NOT recommend anyone use Hawaii Car Transport to transfer their vehicle to the mainland. They have horrendous communication and your car will arrive a month late. They also let whoever is in possession of your car steal whatever they can and then take your car for a joyride as many miles as they want with their kids in the backseat. They told us there would be "no problem" getting our car delivered to us from Hawaii to Utah Dec 20th-23rd. We knew that was just an estimate and that it would probably take longer because of the holidays. Our car arrived at port in California on Dec 17th and on Dec 23rd we called and were told that the carrier cancelled on transporting the car and that it wouldn't get to us until after Christmas. We were disappointed but not surprised since we were shipping our car during the holidays and people take work off. On Dec 27th we called again and didn't receive an answer. We didn't hear anything from the company again until January 3rd when they told us that our car still had not been assigned a carrier and that they had no estimated date at all to give us. The woman on the phone was rude and unhelpful and gave us no peace of mind. We asked if we could fly to California and drive our car ourselves but she said that they had been paying a port holding fee since Dec 26th and that WE would be responsible to pay the fee it if we tried to pick up our own car. Ridiculous. So we waited with no idea when our car would arrive. 5 days later they called and said they finally found a carrier. The truck driver was very nice and had better communication than the actual company did. He called us to update us on where he was and gave us an idea of when our car would get to us. The car finally arrived January 14th, 26 DAYS PAST THE ESTIMATED ARRIVAL DATE. When we inspected our car the outside was in perfect condition thank heavens, but when we looked inside we found signs that our car had been being driven by someone with a child. Our odometer had about 100 more miles than what it had when we dropped it off at the port in Hawaii, our car charger was STOLEN, the interface settings for the car screen were totally changed, there were greasy fingerprints staining the visor on the driver's side, and there was A CHILD'S TOY left in our back seat. A child has NEVER ridden in this car. I assume someone had been driving our car around with a small child in the back seat and that is super concerning to me. No where in the contract we signed said anyone would be driving our car around let alone with children in the car. I had to pay thousands of more dollars to have my vehicle driven across country because I was on a tight schedule and could not be at the port where my car was being shipped to. There was no heads up that my car never got shipped. I don't think this company is located in Hawaii. I believe it's based out of New York or something like that. Overall wasn't super happy with multiple things that happened during the shipping process of my motorcycle. I was moving from Hawaii to Virginia. There was a motorcycle skid shortage which almost delayed my drop off date until after I was flying out, they offered no back up plan whatsoever. They literally just said you'll be out of luck if there isn't a skid available before you fly out. That was after they took the money out of my account. A skid became available last minute and I was able to drop it off right before I flew out. That was really stressful. HCT and Pasha have to have a backup plan for customers if shipping is delayed for whatever reason. Have a storage lot where vehicles can be received and stored until they can be shipped. I was pretty unhappy about that situation. Additionally, my motorcycle was delivered over a week after I was told it would arrive. I had planned a trip around that date (a week after). I had to get my in-laws to receive shipment for me cause it arrived after I flew out, and there were additional stressful factors involved with that. There were a handful of other little details that I wasn't super happy about, this is already a long review so I won't go into too many details. Customer service was about half and half, half of the people I talked to were nice and helpful and half seemed like they didn't care. None of the shipping companies I reached out to could ship my car before the end of the year, Hawai'i Car Transport was somehow able to get my car on a boat over to Hawaii almost right away. From the very start every person I dealt with on the phone was super nice. They always answered the phones and my questions right away, not once did I have a hard time contacting anyone within the company. The tracking worked and detailed where my car was. I actually got my car 11 days earlier than the estimated day they told me it would be ready for pickup. The guys at the shipping yard were so super friendly and nice. My car (besides being a little dirty from her sea voyage) was in the same shape I left it in. The whole experience was totally an A+, I hope that more people have the same experience I did or maybe aren't as curmudgeonly as some of the people who left negative reviews before me. read more

We also paid for door-to-door service, but later they said they couldn't deliver to the base and that someone had to meet them off base. This review focuses on the lack of communication, truth in selling, promises for a service that was NOT upheld. 1. I found out directly from PASHA NOT Hawaii Car Transport, that the delivery transport service did not come to pick up my car. I phoned them at 4:33 pm on 9/6/24 to advise their customer service and ask why. After a 5-7 minute hold, I was was told the transport truck broke down. I asked why I never a got a call and why Pasha was calling me and not them. i was told a reschedule would be made and to please hold. Agent came back on phone and advised the car would be delivered on Tuesday, 9/10. 4. I extend my car rental for additional days from Friday to Tuesday (4 days) 5. Tuesday, 9/10/24 I phone Hawaii Car Transport at 8 am PST to confirm delivery of car. Agent confirms vehicle is getting picked up and delivered. Vehicle is not delivered. I'm told I have to call car service myself. 6. I get in touch with car service. Driver shares with me me vehicle is in Los Angeles port not Oakland as stated on my contract. Driver went to Pasha but Hawaii Car Transport did NOT schedule a new appointment for pick up. He made the appointment on my behalf. They will pick it up for me on Wednesday but unable to deliver until Thursday. 7. I extend my rental car for another 2 days. 8. I paid Hawaii Car Transport $1,990 for the worst service I could ever imagine! When I booked with William Lopez I chose Hawaii Car Transport because he told me the cars would go from maui to Oahu to Oakland directly. He stated they did not need to go to Long Beach. I informed him that Pasha had wanted over 300 less per car, and that I was fine with paying the higher price to have the vehicles go straight to Oakland. I didn't find out that they were put on a boat to Long Beach and then trucked to Oakland until the port of Oakland called me to say they were ready for pick up. So basically I was lied to to go After reviewing my contracts they all say Port to Port, Kahului to Oakland, there is no wording about going to Long Beach and being trucked to Oakland. Also told they couldn't be ready early. Yet got a call that they would be and had to pay 6 days storage instead of 2 Therefore, I overpaid 600 dollars due to employee being completely dishonest with me in order to make a sale. When you add this on top of facts, tracking was never available and I had drop off the vehicles in a junk yard on maui. I am requested 600 refund for the difference they ripped me off for. They have not responded. Or apologized for all of the lies. read more

So today, I saw my car moved when I was waiting at the airport gate for my biz trip out of country, immediately called HCA and has been confirmed that car has been picked up finally after 34 days of drop off at HI and ubering for full 3 weeks, endless delays. Staff on the phone confirmed that it will be delivered 2 days later and I asked for double confirmation since I have to cancel my biz trip if that is true, then the answer turns into it can be 3 days. I cancelled tkt and came home, exhausted. Now I am getting sympathetic for these staffs for responding to all customers in painful situation like this over and over again. Its the owner who really needs to apologize for poor service before hiding behind terms and conditions excuses. This company should never serve customers with the title of Hawaii, which doesnt truly care for ohana and keep repeating its outdated process. Shame to the owner and feel pathetic to those who responsible. read more

I booked about 30 days out (in summer prime time) and sales guy was nice and got me booked in about 10-15 minutes. Car was picked up by a nice guy while I was already in Hawaii and it was a simple easy process for my friend who gave driver my car, (it was even easy for me to change my friend who was getting my car picked up) pick-up driver was a couple days later than expected (communicated to my friend) but my car was going to be at the port waiting for the boat anyways so I didn't mind it having less time at the port. Got to the port in CA from FL in like 3 days or less. Got on the boat they told me it would be on and it got to Hawaii earlier than expected anyways. Matson was very easy to pick up from and SO friendly, even offering me free gas to leave the lot, and a free car wash. Easy and car came in great condition. Appreciate the simplicity. Becareful when using this company, they mess up the top of my car and when I file a claim they don't want to pay for the damage. I am very disappointed with their service and will make sure my family don't used their service. read more
