21 November 2020…read more Donation season! On my walk this morning, I stopped by the drop box to check if there were hours posted; no hours are posted. However, it seems a new addition was made...an after hours drop box! I like that they added an after hours drop box (I think its new because I've gone in the past and there was not one before). Irregardless, it is only for small items and people still leave their larger items at the side of the container. When I went back to drop my items off, it seems the drop box was almost full because once I closed the hatch and open it to put in another bag, the first one was still there. I had to physically push it in with a little force. This indicates that either they haven't emptied it in a few days or there were a lot of donations in a short period! ‍ I wish they had hours posted. I think that would be more helpful and would deter people from leaving their items outside in the elements. While their intent to donate is good, leaving items on the outside just creates the potential for weather damage and the items becoming unusable! I do like donating to BB/BS though as they state that the profits from clothing donations or household goods donations go  toward funding the specialized mentoring programs for young people. The added after hours drop box is a convenient addition!!

I forget the movers names but they were both prompt, handled my items delicately with care, didn't take their sweet time they worked very very hard, disassembled and reassembled a near 50 year old antique silik hutch that I have inherited , they moved everything exactly where it needed to be in my new place, were very polite and respectful and did not damage anything or steal at all. I've dealt with another moving company in the past where I suspected some jewelry went missing. They are the quickest at responses, very reasonable pricing, flexible with their schedules, all in all I am very satisfied and have asked them to move another thing for me as well. 10/10 recommend. Ps. Big thank you to Anna for coordinating everything !!! She is excellent as well

They took a two hour lunch (that I paid for) from 12 till 2. They didn't finish until 10PM and that was only because my wife and I ended up packing 30 percent of the house ourselves. They didn't bring enough packing materials and I had to go to Home Depot and spend a hundred dollars to buy more material. They did an awful job of packing such that almost every box was crushed when we received it. They ruined a $5,000 rug and you can hear broken glass in countless boxes. Lastly, there was no accounting on delivery. A guy with a beat up trailer just showed up and unloaded as quickly as possible. We asked him for some accounting and all he said was "this is all I got." We suspect we are missing a substantial amount of our shipment. A word to the wise... use a different company.

I get to the counter and the employee scans my first item with no problem. When it came to the second set, she goes "oh that's whole foods so cancel the return" and turns around and moves on. I'm like ok. I'm assuming she met change the receipt to ups receipt so she can process my return?! But beforehand, what happened to hi, hello, how can I help? Or hi, making a return? I get it, it's the holidays, it's going to be busy...still a friendly, helpful attitude would be nice.

If you're only dropping things off, it's so easy and fast, it's amazing. But if you're sending items, I would go elsewhere. The first time I had to send out 5 packages, it was a Saturday and USPS closes early so I went to the UPS store to send my packages. The girl put in all 5 package information, come to find out she put it in wrong in the system. So she had to start all over again, and do each package individually. The line got long after me, so I felt bad. Good thing another worker was there to help her and guide her to do it. The second time, I only had one package to send. The worker asked me if the address was correct on the screen, and I told the worker it's missing the apartment number. So he fixed it, showed me the screen and asked again "is it correct on the screen" and I said "no it's still missing the apartment number" I think the manager had to step aside the worker and guide them how to properly fix it. It did get fixed, but they over charged me so much. My packages are pretty much the same size and weight but one was under $10 the other I got charged $22. The customer service is pretty good though, they are super nice and friendly. This location is best for dropping off already ready to send mail, passport pictures from my experience. I would go back to do those services but not going to send mail through them.

Google helped us to figure out that we should release the main drain at the outside of the home, which is brand new construction btw. Once we released the drain, all the sewage in the house drained out (It was gross; use your imagination here). Our builder even came out to investigate if his plumber was the cause. Nope. Turns out it's the main sewer line and only a professional with an auger will do. It's 7 o'clock on a Sunday, regular sh*t floating in .... and Shaka's 24 HOUR claim just aint so. Sadly, they're in good company as NONE of the 24 hour plumbers seem to work on Sunday evenings. Shaka DID call back and said that he would TRY to find "one of his guys" who could help us. His 20 minutes has turned into an hour and 20 minutes and no answer when I called him back. I'm guessing he couldn't find anyone. And the search continues...

I never had a problem with them getting the job done or feeling overcharged when I needed work done for checking and replacing hosing and fixtures for my bathroom and kitchen sinks, or laundry appliances. I used their services several times when I lived in a condo since 2003 and then upon my move to a townhouse in 2012. In August 2019, I had a leak occur from my upstairs bathroom causing my ceiling of my downstairs bathroom to bubble and sag. I was on a limited time frame as I was to leave on a trip in 10 days and needed my family to have peace of mind while I was gone. I called a few plumbing companies to get estimates, however, I either did not get in contact with someone directly, or was told that there was a cost to the assessment, which would go toward the repairs if so needed. I hesitantly scheduled with them for their soonest availability, which was two days later. Shaka Plumbing (Niel) responded to my message quite quickly, stated no charge for assessment, and could come that afternoon. Chris arrived promptly. He was friendly, efficient about the assessment, and seemed honest in his recommendations and suggestions. He took the time to explain the general and common issues of the waste and overflow piping and gaskets that may have caused my leaks and bubbling, and the repair options. He was patient with my many questions, was very accommodating to my schedule; and best of all, able to come the next day at my convenience to do the job. Chris worked efficiently, and was also able to coordinate a freelancer to close up the work area on the bathroom ceiling right after he was done with the pipes. He finished the job within the time frame he estimated with no fuss. He was polite and friendly, and even showed me the basis of the project and the guts of all the plumbing (and everything else that was living in the drain...YUCK!!) that he took out. In addition, Chris was willing to help me purchase supplies and come back on another day that my schedule would allow, to help me with caulking the tub to further minimize water leaking to the ceiling. Thank you!!! Thank you!!! And THANK YOU!!! Chris represented the company well to demonstrate a no fuss, job well done with prompt and efficient service, and with a personable and friendly smile!
