I ordered through DoorDash for pickup, and my boyfriend and I went in to grab our bowls. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating inside, and the staff initially seemed pretty friendly. I've been to another location around Point Loma before, so I had a general idea of what to expect. I will say that this place is definitely on the more expensive side for poke, especially considering the overall experience. I also wasn't able to order seaweed salad, which I'm not sure if it's normally on their menu, but it wasn't available as an option through DoorDash. Unfortunately, the biggest issue came after we brought our food home. There was an actual fly crawling around the crispy onions in my bowl. I immediately took a video as proof and brought it back to the restaurant. My boyfriend went in to handle the situation, and the staff initially didn't seem to believe that there was actually a fly in the food until he showed them the video. They did remake our bowl, which I appreciated, but the interaction afterward felt much less friendly than when we first arrived. We also didn't receive a refund through DoorDash, which was disappointing. On top of that, I felt like the fish was a little warmer and softer than I would have preferred for something that's supposed to be fresh. Overall, the food itself was decent, and it's a convenient option if you're in the Mira Mesa area and want to try poke. Solid poke option but I think it's pretty middle of the road compared to the many other poke options around SD. $14.50 for small with two scoops of protein and $16.50 for a medium with three. I like that for the different sizes they actually have different size bowls compared to other places that have the same size but just more fish. Pretty standard base and topping options. I like how you can include avocado at no additional cost. The flavor of the fish was decent. My partner got the spicy tuna and spicy salmon and unlike other places we're they chop the fish into bigger chunks, they pretty much minced it into a mushy paste which was a little odd. My partner prefers the more standard cubed option. One thing about the bowls is that because they pack it in, it does make it harder to eat. I feel like other places have bowls that have higher edges which makes eating easier. read more

The smoothies tasted like a calpico yogurt blended drink, nice and creamy but also quite sweet (think less fresh fruit smoothie and more a fruity yogurt drink). First impression was these are higher prices for a poke restaurant than I have seen before .I hope its worth it . Especially because there are a lot of food options in the area . I also noticed there were fewer topping options than other poke places I have been to . Another difference is they have cooked meat as a protein choice. I thought that was interesting too . The fish I picked was very fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my bowl . It's definitely a splurge lunch decision because it was $17 for a 3 protein bowl. This poke place is located in a shopping center in Mira Mesa. It's a small, order at the counter type place. I placed my order for store pickup and I was disappointed when I opened the bowls at home. Both the bowls were made without any sauce, and I requested TWO types of sauce on each bowl. Unfortunately my bowls had no flavor. They also limit the number of toppings, and sesame seeds counts as a topping. Seems odd that sesame seeds count just as much as avocado. Based on my experience and tasteless bowl, I cannot recommend this poke place. read more

We were really craving poke and have been looking for good spots since moving back down to San Diego. I had heard good things about The Poke Co, so we gave it a chance. The staff was really friendly when we came in, and were very helpful through the process of building our bowls, which were large in portion. Unfortunately, the quality of the food could have been better. The rice was cold and hard (as we saw them struggle to mold it to the bowl when serving it), the tofu had a sour taste to it (despite asking if it was marinated in anything), the fishes were slimy, and the veggies looked dried out... We were hopeful that the prices would equate to the quality but we were left disappointed. We hope that the ingredients will be fresh if we decide to visit again. read more

I think they should serve more rice with every bowl so your meal doesn't turn into one big sushi porridge. Just like other poke establishments, you customize the bowl to your liking and they make it in front of you. Most consistent Poke place I have found in San Diego. Good quality of fish, large portions, wide array of toppings and sauces. Prices have gone up over the course of the pandemic and then again throughout 2022 (but so has every other place). However, given the portion sizes, I think the bowls are well worth the money. read more
