Parking was a bit of a hassle even through they have a huge parking lot so give yourself extra time to find parking. Its shared with Vons and many other store in the strip mall. No reservations needed, we just walked in and was seating immediately. The atmosphere was fun, casal, and upbeat. Raw oyster was so delicious yesterday. Its really hit or miss with that sometimes there. But the crawfish boil did not taste like fresh crawfish, more like frozen to me. Can never go wrong with 75 cent wings on their HH menu. They have HH all day Tuesdays. So its always a good day to go.

My husband and I came for happy hour which gave us some deals on the yummy sangrias, the wings, the crab poppers and oysters. The host/bar tender sat us down quickly and made sure we were taken care of. The place is quite large so I doubt there is much of a wait to be seated. They have a nautical theme for the restaurant which matches the cuisine and is quite adorable. I do like they have hand washing stations outside of the bathroom. I much prefer this over boiling crab because of pricing and no wait.

Wow, this place blew me away! I LOVE lobster, and this one is gigantic--fresh lobster with spaghetti for only $17.99! I couldn't believe it. So fresh, so delicious, and such an amazing deal. The only catch? It's only served on Wednesdays!

You know a restaurant is good when you wanna go back and it hasn't even been a week since you last went. :) Crab Hut's always a solid staple for me. We went on Sunday, 6:30PM and while Boiling Crab had an insane 2 hour wait, Crab Hut's seating was upon arrival. We ordered 2lbs Shrimp, 1 lb Clam, 1lb Mussels - Potatoes and Half sausage, with an extra tray of Cajun fries. Honestly it was really good. Medium hit the spot perfectly and the sauce was super good and flavorful. Our waitress Trisha was fantastic and the other staff passing by were awesome as well. Asked for salt, pepper, and lemons and one of the waiters delivered in less than a minute (talk about peak customer service right?) Restaurant was full but not packed to the rim so it was nice because it wasn't too overwhelming. I do think the parking and location is why Crab Hut has less of a crowd, but really the food is just as good. Seafood as fresh and honestly it's probably more of a goto spot for me than Boiling Crab. Both good in their own ways but one with less of a wait time. Will I be back? No doubt about it. Overall rating: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Menu: 10/10 Restaurant Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 10/10

    Grilled oysters

Very disappointing experience. The biggest issue was the grilled oysters. They were covered with a layer of cheese, but once we got past the cheese, the oysters had a very obvious spoiled, fishy smell. This was not the normal ocean flavor or natural seafood taste of fresh oysters--it was the kind of smell you get when seafood is no longer fresh. When we cut into the oysters, a lot of cloudy liquid came out, which made us even more concerned about their freshness. We were only able to fine one that looks somewhat fresh (photo). We politely brought this to our server's attention, expecting them to let the kitchen know so the food could be checked. Instead, the server simply talked to another server and came back saying, "Our oysters are always like this. They're fresh. Grilled oysters just taste this way." We eat oysters regularly, so we know the difference between the natural taste of fresh seafood and the unpleasant smell of seafood that isn't fresh. We weren't complaining about oysters tasting like oysters--we were concerned that they didn't seem fresh. What made the experience even worse was the service. After we raised the issue, the server continued discussing us with another server instead of handling the situation professionally. It felt dismissive and disrespectful. The restaurant automatically includes an 18% gratuity, which wasn't an issue by itself. However, when a service charge is mandatory, I expect a level of professionalism that matches it. Unfortunately, the way our concern was handled fell far below that standard. Overall, poor food quality combined with an unprofessional attitude made this a very disappointing experience. I won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

I usually order the Full House 1/2 Medium sauce, which is my favorite! It has the perfect balance of buttery, garlicky flavor with just enough spice. It's rich, flavorful, and SOO FREAKING GOOD!! Their sauce is so good, I don't even need the seafood; just give me rice or noodles haha. I also like their garlic noodles. They're savory and pair perfectly with the seafood. The restaurant is lively and a fun place to go with friends or family when you want to dig in and get a little messy. This place is worth checking out, especially if you like bold flavors and a classic seafood boil experience.

    Dungeness crab special
    Suzanna L.

I'm a big fan of their approximately semi-annual Dungeness crab deals. The crab tasted fresh and was surprisingly larger than expected for a flat rate of $27 for their Mardi Gras special. Suggest signing up for their email list to stay on top of the deals.

First time here in Mira Mesa location and was helped by Mai. She was very helpful. Food always good. I ordered the live crawfish and chicken with sauce on side. 2 thumps up!!! Thank you for great customer service

Thank you Jen for the amazing service, as always. The decor is on theme, and I especially love that they decorate for the holidays. The food here is consistently great, and we leave full and happy every time. We love it here, and so grateful to live less than 10 minutes away. See you again soon!

This place always hits the spot. Hate the fact that they require a mandatory gratuity, but our server, Biut (I think that is his name) earned it today. He was responsive and checked on us all night. The crab and shrimp were phenomenal. The only thing annoying was a group of four cackling and annoyingly loud all night long. No sense of consideration for other patrons.

Me waiting for our seafood boil
    Aerial B.

If you're craving a seriously good seafood boil, this place absolutely delivers. The crab boils are packed with flavor--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and messy in the best way possible. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and coated in their signature sauces that keep you going back for more. The crab is always tender and easy to crack, the shrimp are plump, and the potatoes and corn soak up all the seasoning. It's one of those meals where you just stop caring about being neat and enjoy every bite. Service is usually friendly and the vibe is casual, perfect for digging in and getting your hands dirty. Definitely a go-to spot when you want something indulgent and satisfying. I'll 100% be coming back. Legit my fave seafood joint!!

Love to come here when I want a seafood boil. Gave the Go to town combo a shot this time because I wanted to try the lobster and found it to be decent value for a group of 4. Would recommend this place and enjoy coming back!

Loads of tables and chairs and a large patio. The bar was redone as well and took up the main long wall of the bar. It is now a cool arcade bar. The bartenders were quick and efficient. They made really good cocktails and even suggested a few. Loved the token cards. They were easy to fill and even worked on the jukebox so that's where all of my money went. I love jukeboxes!!! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=57KdYg48K-IMOHEH0rg9IQ with the bar/order counter directly in front of you when you entered, a highly-visible tap menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=issos1QjwbLqHYCYJAl2pA on the wall behind the bar, many communal benches and tall tables inside and on the front patio, brewing tanks in the background, games https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=D78FJjUsG_FjQX_bUZvHGw in a corner, and on this particular night there was a well-attended astronomy presentation https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=xaEnKPrdF3diRb_uOqYBAg which was a first for me. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the large front windows and doors while an assortment of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=rOS9_YXUfQmMuzGaZqEnYw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL We had a chilling time at Duck Foot Brewing and would plan another visit to try more of the over 15 beers on tap as well as wine and slushies. The two beers I had were very tasty and easygoing, the prices were comparable, and the service was straightforward. Furry family members were allowed! They also had happy hour specials and nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more. Ample free parking was always a major plus. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Saw the Why? play here recently, which was a great time. Also super friendly staff, funky decor and…read morea free photo booth. However, I've just not enjoyed the beers I've tried here. There was a rocket pop flavored beer slushee that I sampled but it was too bitter so I opted for real beer instead. The Bees one and an amber option on tap that day were not what I expected. One even tasted like an IPA, but was not labeled as such. Props to Duck Foot for hosting local bands and community events - will give the beer another shot next time I attend an event here.

There is a ramen station, which is actually a pretty neat idea, but I did strongly prefer the pizza vendor they had during trivia night. The trivia night was funner than I expected and nice because it was not too crowded. The nice bonus was that the top 3 winners won a prize. I hope this place draws in more people. There's not too many breweries in this area, and now one of the last few hangout spots with friends/colleagues after work nearby

Some highlights include: - Their Shogun beer (of course!): got to try out a flight of Summer in Ryoku (salted lager), Dusk in Kyoto (hojicha lager), Dawn in Ube (IPA with ube) and Winter in Hokkaido (matcha stout). I also liked their light and refreshing yuzu cherry hard tea. - Pair these beers with local rotating food vendors onsite or even a self-serve/heating ramen station - Relaxed atmosphere, with a DJ some days and events on other days - Family-friendly Also tried a flight of their Embolden beers including Beyond borders (Mexican lager), Litehouse (blonde), Ensenada Amber (lager), Blurred limes (salted lime lager). We even took a custom 4 pack to go and our friends took a couple of growlers home.
