Rainbow roll+ sushi 4pc with miso
    Olivia S.

Ordered myself a Postmates delivery. Got a rainbow roll + 4 piece sushi w/ miso soup combo. With a coupon my order came out to be $30, pretty good deal. I added jalapeños to the roll for a buck extra. The miso was delicious, the rainbow was great. The only complaint I have is that the salmon was firm and chewy. I'm used to buttery and soft salmon nigiri and this felt like I was chewing on a tendon. Both the salmon on top of the rainbow and the nigiri had the same chewy and firm texture. Overall, good experience, salmon may have been a miss but this is a great lunch deal.

Lunch Bento Special until 3pm with Bulgogi Beef, miso soup, side salad, gyoza and choice of sushi, spicy tuna roll - $18
    Deanne L.

Recently enjoyed their Lunch Bento Special that's served until 3pm. I chose the Bulgogi Beef and Spicy Tuna roll while the miso soup, 2 pcs of gyoza, side salad, and rice were also included. For $18 I thought it was a good deal and I left satisfied. The bulgogi beef was cooked nicely and tasted great. Washed down everything with the warm miso soup. The sushi, gyoza, and salad, although not the best in the world, I thought it was acceptable for the lunch deal. Service was super nice and quick.

Pretty decent sushi spot. Seems to be more for the locals that reside in this area. The tuna and salmon rolls were basic but delicious.

My favorite Lemon Salmon Roll never disappoints! Always clean. Always super fresh fish. Always friendly & welcoming.

Pretty cozy Korean owned Japanese restaurant in Poway. Their fish quality is not bad for the price. Sushi, roll and nigiri selection is big. Service is friendly and attentive. Good choice when graving for rolls and sushi with a family style dining vibe.

Fish was not high quality. Some fish was fishy not buttery (tuna, albacore, halibut). The service was subpar. The bakes mussels are okay a lot of imitation krab, took a while to bake. Almost all of the specialty rolls have imitation krab.

My boyfriend's and I go to spot. Always clean, and the service is always amazing. All the workers are super attentive and the younger gentleman is super efficient. We always get the lemon roll and Hawaiian poke roll which have never failed us. Everything taste so fresh, and their wasabi really brings out the flavors in the roll!

I was running some errands in Carmel Mountain and was craving some sushi. Sushi Hana was the most affordable option and had a good variety of rolls. To my surprise the fish quality and size of the rolls were great. I usually order 2 rolls from sushi places and they don't usually fill me up but I could barely finish these rolls. I ordered on the phone and showed up within 15 minutes and it was already done. The service was fast, prices were good. It's also in a very busy plaza. I will definitely come back here again and dine in.

First time here, getting some to-go for one. Ordered the sushi/sashimi combo (comes with miso soup and salad), takoyaki, and hawaiian poke roll. Fresh fish, good sushi rice. The only thing really was that the miso soup did not have tofu in it at all. Takoyaki tastes ok. Price-reasonable Staff was extra friendly and efficient. Got my order in 20 minutes as quoted. The atmosphere is quiet and classy. Lots of tables. Plenty of parking. Would definitely try dining in next time.

I haven't left a review less than 3 stars in a while...but I gotta for this. Ordered from here last night and the sushi was definitely NOT FRESH. I tasted & smelled something off in the first few bites but ignored it. It was definitely either the snow crab or the avocado but I'm leaning towards the snow crab. I literally immediately had to go to the bathroom about 20 minutes after eating my sushi. My stomach was suffering! Sorry, TMI I know. Also as other reviews mentioned, they didn't even provide soy sauce packets when I ordered from DD. Luckily, I had some in our fridge. I ordered the crunch roll because it was the #1 most liked item from this restaurant on DD. They weren't kidding when they say "crunch" -- my sushi roll was buried under all the tempura flakes LOL. After feeling sick, I had to toss the rest of my food away (probably had like 4 pieces of the sushi roll left). What I ordered; - snow crab hand roll - shrimp tempura hand roll - crunch roll - edamame

Recently ordered delivery from here for the first time and will do so again! Fish is pretty fresh (and well-sliced - no raggedy cuts for me, please...), and the sushi and sashimi combo with miso soup and salad is the perfect amount of food for lunch. Everything was packaged nicely and arrived at the proper temperature a la Goldilocks - soup hot, salad cold, fish just right. I'm not crazy about iceberg lettuce and the miso soup could have used a touch less salt and a bit more tofu and seaweed, but these are minor nitpicks. I have yet to visit so can't speak to the in-person experience at this restaurant, but for delivery, it's a good sushi option in North County!

There was so much flavor between the salmon, orange slices, and garlic aioli. Everything blended together like a unique piece of art. - Rainbow Roll - solid and what you'd expect. Not my favorite item of the day. - Sea dragon roll - delicious: the attention to detail with the avocado slices to the perfect grilled eel this one blended together really nicely. - Poke Bowl - I ordered 3 scoops of Salmon (extra $5 for the third scoop) - this was really delicious. The salmon marinade blended together nicely with the flavored rice. Una Don - the unagi pieces had the perfect smoky and sweet flavor blend. One of the best unagi pieces I've ever had. Overall five stars for the quality of food, creativity especially with the Orange Ginza Line, and service. I will caveat that the portion sizes are quite small for the price point. I was out the door $118 for this meal for two. I'd recommend ordering like you would at an elevated dining restaurant. Try a bowl and a couple of rolls per person and splurge a little. The interior of the shop is clean and minimal and on the smaller side. Be warned there was no AC on a warm summer day when I came. These are trade offs I'm willing to overlook for an incredible quality sushi experience. I am already craving another Orange Ginza Line roll: it is calling my name!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday, and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The restaurant was spotless, peaceful, and the food came out incredibly fast, which was exactly what we needed after a day of travel recovery. One thing I really enjoyed was the unique combination of pho and sushi on the menu. I've had plenty of each separately around San Diego, but this is the first place I've personally experienced offering both under one roof. It's a great option when you're craving something warm and comforting but also want a few fresh sushi rolls. I ordered the Philadelphia Roll. I typically prefer avocado over cucumber in my rolls, so I would have loved that swap, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. I also ordered a bowl of pho, which was exactly what I needed that day: warm and comforting. Nothing overly fancy, just a solid bowl that delivered on the comfort-food front. Between the clean atmosphere, quick service, and the ability to satisfy both my sushi and pho cravings in one visit, Bamboo Pho & Sushi was a great lunch stop. We'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we're in the area and looking for a relaxing meal

It looks like most of the other tables were reserved for reservations. The decor is modern and very clean and chic. They also had a high chair and was accommodating with our baby. Food was incredible and the quality of the fish is evident throughout. We started with the mixed shrimp and vegetable tempura - light crispy batter, really good. The sashimi champaloo came with 12 pieces of sashimi, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and the fish of the day was albacore. For rolls, we got the Luna Lemon, Maru's Sushi Toro, and Hamachi Hiro. The rolls were a good size and I loved how each had a fun twist (but at the same time not TOO crazy with their combinations like some other sushi places). You can tell it was designed with intention and each roll had a nice balance. The Luna Lemon roll was great with spicy tuna inside, salmon outside, and the soy dressing and shallot oil put it over the top. The Maru's Sushi - Toro roll looked so good in the photos so I knew we had to order it. The negitoro was delicious and did not disappoint. The Hamachi Hiro roll was hearty and loved the combination of yellowtail outside the shrimp tempura in the inside. We were blown away by how fast the service is. The staff was friendly and on top of everything, and the food came out REALLY fast. For example, when we ordered an extra roll at the end, it came out in maybe 3 minutes and we were shocked. The sashimi was pretty good, but quality wise the sashimi champloo was definitely superior. -Salmon mango roll ($9.50): This had spicy salmon, mango, and ume furikake. This was quite tasty, and definitely had a kick to it. -Maru Maru roll ($9.50): This had imitation crab meat, shrimp tempura, and avocado. There's a lot of businesses around this area so I can see Sushi Kami being a popular spot for a go-to lunch outside of work. We came for dinner and got seated right away and it wasn't too busy at all. It was nice but still casual at the same time if that makes sense. I will say the parking was a little tight and we had to make a bit of an awkward U-turn to get to the restaurant but the lot wasn't that full so it wasn't too bad but I could see this being trickier in the daytime. I really enjoyed both the spicy tuna and salmon. I've had a lot of weird spicy tuna but this one hit just right. It's always hard to find that perfect balance between fish and spice but I really enjoyed this one. The salmon was good too. The standout was definitely the tempura we got as well. It was large and came out hot and crispy and perfect. This is the type of sushi restaurant I could take people to who don't necessarily like sushi all that much. There's lots of options on the menu including bulgogi (next time I shall try!) and really good combos for people to enjoy. Ambiance is chill but still has that fun sushi vibe with the displays of fish (and I even saw some creative fish decorating on the walls which I thought was a nice touch) Service was nice and they always refilled our waters without us having to ask. I enjoyed the food and the vibe! Would definitely come back to try more ...and brings others along too!

The dining room was small and we noticed two other sets of guests at nearby tables. The server gave some recommendations, but we went with a two broths we were looking forward to trying, the tonkatsu and tom yum. The drink bar is self serve with sodas, water and a boba station, but the restaurant didn't serve beer or wine which would have been nice with the meal. The spice/sauce bar is nice, but quite a few of the containers weren't labeled. The custom sauces had pictures on how to create them, but I was a little confused as to which ingredients were which. I could have asked, but I ended up going with a sauce mixture I already knew well. All of the shabu vegetables looked good. I enjoyed this area the most. The seafood area was also well organized as well. I can see where other reviewers could potentially feel a little squished in this area, because there are only two ways in and out and the seating is a bit close to the end, but it didn't really affect me and that part isn't reflected in my own rating. The meats arrived at our table, and two of the three were tasty. The pork belly wasn't for me as it was far too fatty, but that's just my preference. I have to say that neither of the broths were very flavorful, and this is probably where my biggest disappointment was. The price for two dinners with no alcohol was $85 minus tip. Overall, I think Shabu Spot has solid potential and a truly kind staff, but in my opinion the dining experience wasn't what I had hoped for, and I would want to read better reviews before being comfortable returning.
