Cherry crumble pie is the bomb!
    Scot U.

Cherry pie crumble is the bomb! My visiting son and his partner had a random request... "can we get a cherry pie?" So ty to all the yelpers, I decided to give HPC a try and what a great choice! I called in the morning to inquire they had cherry pie that day... but initially the response was no. Then when the person found out I would pick it up in the afternoon, "hey, we can just bake one for you!" Yessss!!! So I gave my cc info and prepaid over the phone, and later that day, the pie was waiting for us! Still warm from the oven! I particularly liked the crust. I think that part make or breaks a good pie. Filling was tart, but very good ..totally worth the $34.55 !! Def will be back for more in the future! I'm a fan!

I strive to keep purchases local. Hoping my luck turns around & will enjoy a 4* experience professed by others. $8.00 Caramel Apple - Mini: Felt something sharp in my mouth. Found the shard in the photo. Definitely not apple peel or something edible. Reached out 3 weeks ago & no response. Service was friendly during my purchase.

Got the passion pear mini pie for $7.50 and it was good but wished the fruit flavors in the filling came through more. The staff are friendly and it was quick in and out when we went, no line and no wait. Plenty of parking in the parking lot.

Update 2-15-25 Their pies are very good. My favorite is their apple, pineapple whip. Today I bought 5 mini pies since we're having dinner with friends. 2 peach pear and 3 Dutch apple. Haven't tried the Dutch apple but if their apple is good I know i will like it. Also bought 2 leaves of cinnamon bread to give away and also bought a strawberry cream cheese shortcake roll. Tried it and the bun was soft but to me I rather have the plain cinnamon roll this one had to much strawberry cream cheese to me. Other than that when they have their manju go get it it's very delicious. I'll always be back from their pies.

We got some mini pies to try out. We bought the apple pie, strawberry, guava, coffee candy, pineapple whip, and Hawaiian passion pear. My favorite was the strawberry guava because it wasn't too sweet and had a nice flavor. The pineapple whip was very heavy on the pins colada flavor. I was hoping for a dole whip (sweet/tangy). Our least favorite was the coffee candy and that was probably because we like light fruity pies and this one was heavy. I purchased these online for pick up and they were ready and warm when we got them. They also have a display case of pies if you want to stop by but go early cause they can sell out. I can't wait to try out their February pie of the month! Note: they are part of the ASB buy local program so use your card if shopping there to enjoy $10 off your purchase of $40 or more.

I didn't even know this place excised!! I drive in this street all the time and never knew about Hawaiian Pie Company. My new dessert place to order from. Came to buy pies for Happy Pi Day! So cute they had a chocolate Pi Pie for Pi Day. So cute! I ordered the Blueberry Peach pie and the Apple Caramel pie. Both were so delicious with and without vanilla ice cream. Check them out when you can. My the next our I want to try is their Hawaiian Pear pie. the coolest part is they also have individual size pies. This means you don't have to worry about wasting your pie if you only want a slice. You can buy a mini pies to satisfy your craving!

I absolutely love Hawaiian Pie Company! They are the best pie on the island hands down. My favorite pies from them are: -Chocolate Chess - It may be a seasonal or limited time pie, but it reminds me of a brownie within a pie. The chocolate taste is so deep and almost dark chocolate-ish. - Caramel Apple- Not gonna lie, not too sure the difference between this one and their regular apple pie..or I thinkkk there's a regular apple pie. Sorry, having a brain fart! But I love how the pie isn't too sweet, it's just right. I'm not always an apple pie person, but I really like Hawaiian Pie Company's one! - Passion Pear - I believe it's a pear pie with passion fruit added. It reminds me of an apple pie if it had to describe it. But I love the special pie top it has. I think it's coconut with some other items. But the coconut is finely blended which I like. The best thing about all the pies is the crust. It's flaky and just soooo good! I wish they would sell the pie crust on its own so I could play with other recipes I have. The staff was super nice and informative when I visited. Getting to the shop is a little different because of construction. But my recommendation would be to come down from Waiakamilo. At the time of this review, you can't take lefts on Dillingham I believe. Thanksgiving is coming up soon, so if you're reading this, be sure to pre-order on their website!

Hawaiian pie company is on my must stop list every time I visit Oahu! They make the best pies in the world! Every single thing I've eaten (Hawaiian passion pear pie, pear peach pie, pumpkin custard pie, pineapple whip pie, chocolate chess pie, kahlua games, rum cakes, Korean garlic bread) has clearly been made with quality and flavor in mind. Every bite is amazing till it's gone. The pies are baked in the most delicious flaky crust and the filling to crust ratio has been perfected, as many other reviews also note. The mini pies are perfect for smaller portions when a full pie may be too much for a smaller party. I typically limit myself to half a mini when I'm by myself...but often times I end up finishing the whole thing. The specials aside from the pies are also so delicious I wish they weren't specials and part of their daily menu. The Korean garlic bread and the kahlua and rum cakes are to die for!! And we can't forget the Chex mix and shortbread chocolate chip cookies which are great gift options to bring back to the mainland. My friends call the Chex, "crack Chex", and the bag is usually finished in a day. If you missed your chance to visit, they're also available on gold belly!

I know of Hawaiian Pie Company - I believe they sell to supermarkets- but I don't know that I've wver knowingly ate one of their pies. I finally decided to visit their bakery upon recommendation. They have a long established history of baking in Hawaii, which they provide a synopsis of in-store and online...something to peruse while waiting for your order. I don't recall their previous iteration in Manoa, but they started generations ago on the Big Island. They offer mini-pies along with full pies and other pastries. Weekly and monthly specials provide a variety. I've only had their mini's: Passion Pear, Caramel Apple, and ( October's Special ) Chocolate Chess Pie. I have a sweet tooth but it is also a welcomed pleasure to eat desserts that are balanced like their pear and apple pies. Flaky crust makes for a quality pastry. The Chocolate Chess pie was okay; like a brownie-filled pie shell. Not too sweet but it could have been more chocolate rich...it looked heavier and richer than it actually tasted. Parking stalls are available and their is and adjacent bar & grill. When parking is full it must be difficult to get out on to Waiakamilo Road. They are located on Waiakamilo and Colburn...near Foodland and Home Depot. They are closed Sundays thru Tuesdays.

    That cinnamon roll didn't survive!

I had never been able to get to their retail space but on this trip I was able to stop by. I saw that they had cinnamon rolls and I had to have one! I also got two small pies; Aloha Medley and Passion Pear. Both were soooooo good! I mean, I didn't eat them until a few days later. Warmed they up and they were soooooo ONOOOOO! There were more that I wanted to try, but that will have to wait until next time. They have a small parking lot in front which is great! The staff working is really friendly! Great place to get something special! Mahalo Hawaiian Pie!

Caught them at Merrie Monarch, but I also see their ready-made pies at local grocery stores! I tried their Hawaiian Passion Pear on recommendation from a friend, and it was well worth it! The perfect amount of sweetness and tartness in an individual sized portion was a great in-between meal. Hoping to try their other flavors soon! This review was for the most wonderful pie company on the island. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Pie and it's become a tradition that I let my nerdiness and addiction take over on 3/14 or Pi day. As can be seen in the pic before me, at 8:45am, there was already a line of people wanting to pick up their pre orders I picked up blueberry peach, peach pear, and strawberries cream, to share with my coworkers. They were ecstatic and I won some brownie points because they said the pies we got were better than what was given to another team. Yay Hawaiian Pie! Anyway, I wanted to specifically call out that they had missed one of my pies in my preorder and I had to go back at lunch. They had been really busy and stressed and they have always taken good care of us so I didn't even get upset. I just let them know and they immediately got me the pies and gave me a couple of minis for free. I also bought another pie as well because I just couldn't resist. They took good care again and I will be back next year As for the pies. Oh my. The blueberry peach is their pie of the month. I'd love them to promote it to their standards so I can get it every month. Blueberry is my favorite and in the trademarked crust? Yum!! The strawberries mini pie was great as well and I got compliments on the chocolate chew pie Thank you for making Pi day a success!!

Bought me some sticky buns today. Kinda disappointed, thinking that their pies were really yummy, I bought 6 of them online sight unseen. Picked them up from their kalihi store. They were very bready... it's all about where's the sticky!!! I would have called them cinnamon buns instead. Sorry but these were not sticky buns to me.

Hubs had to fast from 6 am for his 2 pm surgery so I thought he would probably be starving and would enjoy a delectable salt and butter roll from here. At $4.50 a piece I consider this a luxury for us. I found a close stall in the parking structure. A very cheerful polite male employee took my order. I had seen two occupied tables as I walked into the shop. Both had matcha drinks. Why not? I asked the young man assisting me, what's the best matcha drink? He said his favorite was banana matcha with extra banana foam. Okay I'll try it. He repeated it to the cashier. So popular there was a wait for beverages to be prepared. Soon enough mine was ready. I think Doc would enjoy this drink. This shop is a working bakery. Many yummy pastries displayed. Menu is posted high up above to choose from. Rather tiny shop with room for customers to stand in line to order and wait for drinks. Clean, busy with a few tables and chairs outside but pretty much in direct sun.

The cinnamon sugar from the malasada just matches so perfectly with a drink this restaurant is also a nice place for walking! There's lot of stores and restaurants to walk around! I'm trying to remember but I think there was a book off that was not too far from here! If you either drive or maybe walk. Service: staff was super helpful and friendly while I was there. I was having an issue with my online order because my phone was being glitchy and they were so nice in helping :) Also wanted to note their branding is so cute!! They even sell merch items too

Everyone knows to go to Leonard's for freshly made malasadas, and the constant crowds there attest…read moreto their quality and variety (review: https://yelp.to/jaduiZfQRq). However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Table for 11 the morning after the 4th of July without a reservation? What, like it's hard? You…read morecan't make reservations here, but they do have an iPad that you can be added to their waitlist. Even though it was rather busy, we were seated within 10-ish minutes and got their biggest table outside. And right next to their butter roll grill- score! We had 11 people including kids and teenagers and there's really something on the menu for everyone here. Even my picky nephew was able to find a milkshake and add an egg to their ham and cheese croissant. I got their mahi mahi breakfast and upgraded to get their fried rice. Mahi mahi might not sound like a breakfast food for most, but it's one of my favs that I used to get from their OG location and I hadn't had it in so long. And that's the best thing about Liliha Bakery, there are so many local favorites that you can get any time of day. My mom got the oxtail soup (I got a bit of plate fomo from that). The rest of the table got breakfast classics: pancakes w/ a side of spam, 2 eggs + bacon, steak and eggs etc. The butter rolls here are so good and love that they come complimentary but I do believe there's a charge after the first basket.

Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. Our waitress seemed to be having a rough day. The table behind us had to send food back three different times because they kept receiving the wrong orders, and there was about a 30-minute period where our server completely disappeared. We had to ask another staff member for our check and to-go boxes. She also never came back to check on our table or refill our water. Everyone has off days, so we're hoping that's all it was. We'd definitely come back because the food was so good--we just hope to have a different server next time.

Green Tea Puff ($3.75) and Coco Puff ($3.69) - I didn't like these. The chantilly topping was way too sweet. Pudding filling tastes cheap.
