Listen--IMHO-----the people who are leaving all of these glowing reviews are either friends, relatives or employees of Hawk Management--- because I was less than impressed when I dealt with them. Wayyyyyyy less!! We went to view one of the units listed on the Hawk website, and the agent showing the property, who introduced himself as "Matt" --couldn't have been less interested. He could hardly answer questions about the rental because he REMAINED ON HIS PHONE, texting, during our entire "tour." Now, I can understand perhaps a quick glance at a text, and, at the very most---a return of 1 or 2 other quick texts. (This was after all, an open house ----& at first, I thought perhaps he was texting other potential tenants, with directions/parking instructions, etc., to the unit) But NOPE--Matt engaged in ongoing, non-stop texting--- the entire 10-15 minutes that he rushed us through the faux open house viewing. I am NOT exaggerating, this man was like some demented teenager, with the flying fingers and the bowed head-staring intently at his phone. So crass, unprofessional, & unapologetic was he---that I am still incredulous at his nonchalant lack of professionalism. Had he been in his teens, early 20's....or hell, even mid to late 20's..I might have brushed it aside. But Matt was obviously MORE than old enough---to know how to behave in a more professional manner. Not only that, but Matt knew surprisingly little about the place that he was showing us--or the surrounding area, despite telling us that Hawk Management had been acting as the property managers for this & "several other properties" for some time. I can only suppose that we interrupted his texting session one too many times with our pesky questions----- because finally he shoved a flyer about the property into my hands and said "Read this, it should answer all of your questions." He then went back to texting. *Sigh* I wonder if the property owners that utilize Hawk Management, know that people like Matt are the type of "professionals" that are sent out to entice prospective tenants?! I also wonder if said property owners have ever considered that Hawk employees like Matt-- might be the reason that their properties don't sell/lease more quickly---and prices have to be continually slashed? It's not the market--it's the management. The unit we were shown, was dirty & hadn't been professionally cleaned. We also saw exposed cables & wires-& glass windows and doors had smudges. Why not have the unit spic and span for viewing? Perhaps that's who Matt should've been texting--a janitorial service! In closing--we saw a total of 3 properties on Hawk's website that we were interested in viewing--however--we have decided to look elsewhere altogether. Because if this is how they treat prospective tenants, I can't imagine having to deal with people like Matt for the entire term of a rental lease. Unless of course, we were to send him a text. Communication isn't a quality this company possesses. Saw a unit liked it applied, the onsite manager claimed I would be sent a application to apply. NEVER happened if I waited for her office I would lose out on applying. I had to find it myself 1 day later. Another thing make sure you call to find put status of application, they WILL not inform you if you were denied apparantly lol... they mail out a response letter.??? Um it would be great to to be informed asap so the potential tenant can move on to applying somewhere else. If this sort of communication lacks early on, BIG red flags. read more

As a first time landlord, I was filled with anxiety while searching for the right management company. The unit to be rented was my personal home for a few years and there was a strong attachment. I can also turn Type A personality in business matters, so I knew I had to find someone who could meet my needs. I met with two other companies before finding Hawk Management. I chose to work with Ed because, by far, he presented himself as someone who was professional, responsive, punctual and knowledgeable. He offered advice and suggestions about the rental even before I became a client. He made sure to check in with us without being overbearing. He took the time to explain documentations and certain logistics about leasing. In my job, I'm used to checking and replying to texts, emails and phone calls regularly and promptly because that's what my customers appreciate the most. Ed shares that same mentality. As a new landlord, it's fantastic to have someone answer your many questions without having to wait hours or days. It took us a couple of weeks to get the rental unit ready for rent and Ed was always within reach. He works with an excellent team and they provided us with help with whatever handiwork we needed. Once the unit was ready to market, Katya, Ed's leasing agent, stepped in. She took amazing pictures of the place and nailed the perfect description and rental price. Within the first week, we had multiple tenant applications. Nothing can be guaranteed, especially during COVID, but I do feel that Ed is an expert in his field and he will do whatever he can to ensure that all aspects of the rental is taken care.
