Everything went well tonight! When we arrived, resto was still quiet. We got the full attention service. Server gave us good recommendations and was chatty and also humorous. This time, I have a great appreciation for the ambiance - romantic, cozy and elegant. Food was very good. Everything was done right. We were here to celebrate an anniversary and the food was up to the celebratory vibe.

Hawksworth Restaurant was the perfect choice to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. My wife and I loved the cozy, warm atmosphere and the beautifully decorated space. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, and the sommelier did an excellent job helping us select a wine that perfectly complemented our meal. The salmon tartare, risotto, and mixed green salad were all delicious, and the pork and scallops were an absolute 10/10. A beautiful restaurant and an unforgettable dining experience. We are so glad we went.

This is another restaurant I've always wanted to try. Located in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, it gives off an old-school steakhouse vibe with dark wood paneling, featuring light quartz tabletops and white leather / light wood chairs. There is an elegant glass "chandelier" in the center of the room. I started with a double 1908 Empress gin & tonic ($20) while I went through the menu. I opted for the Parfait of Foie Gras & Chicken Livers ($37) and the Hawksworth Classic Burger ($29). I had a glass of Henriot Champagne ($19 at 50% off) with my parfait. Surrounded by apple jelly and served with toast points, the terrine was sublime! I ordered a glass of Lafarge pinot noir ($40) to accompany my burger. The patty was perfectly cooked, augmented by bacon, an onion ring, and a slice of cheddar. The accompanying fries were perfect. I ended my meal with a cup of coffee ($7). The bill came to $167.41CAD + tip, not inexpensive but worth it, to me. The next time I'm in town, I'll go for dinner.

Came here for a work event. Food was okay but I wish it had been out of this world. Dinner was supposed to start at 6 pm but starters came at 7:40, mains at 8:10, and dessert at 9:15 pm. Beautiful presentation; small portions. Acoustics are also a bit wacky. Super loud in some corners without music, then they were playing dance music in our corner of the room. Hard to hold good conversations when shouting at each other at the same table. Loved the hotel and convenience of going up and down the elevator to the room but wouldn't be on my top list for restaurant choices. I wasn't footing the bill otherwise I think it would probably be a 3 for value. Had some grapes when I got home.

10/10 service and 10/10 food. This place will give you so much attention and they will always adjust or modify to your needs. I was so impressed by their burger as the ingredients tasted so fresh. Only downside is that they got our fries order wrong, reg fries instead of truffle BUT they ended up giving us potato salads on the house. So it was still WORTH IT.

My uncle was in town and got the pleasure of going with him to try fine dining at Hawksworth. We tried the seasonal tasting menu. Good things first! The waiters were very attentive and not much time passed between the presentation of each dish. Reading other reviews I was concerned about the ambiance but it wasn't loud at all (granted we were sat in a corner near the windows). I liked all the courses, especially the duck. Unfortunately, there was a bit of waiting for someone to get us at the door and it wasn't a super busy night. As fine dining usually goes, the servings were very small. It's nice to get a little of everything but I definitely left still hungry. While everything was good, there wasn't anything that stuck out to me that I'd actually recommend for its value. Probably a really great restaurant for an upscale date spot or business dinner. The items on the a la carte menu are most likely larger but for me, it was pretty average as far as fine dining goes.

Hawksworth restaurant is an upscale dining experience that offers creative cuisine with an emphasis on fish. There is a nightly tasting menu, but we opted for à la cart selections in order to try more items. We started with the chips and dip and the bread service, both were good choices to get warmed up for our starters. All of the starters were excellent. We had asparagus soup, steelhead tartare served on endive, and Burrata cheese. Our entrées included Lamb, Seabass, and Hamachi (which was served raw, but with a broth poured over it). We all liked the entrées, but I don't think they were as good as the starters. Service throughout was friendly and professional. There is an extensive wine list from a broad range of countries, but with no depth of vintage.

We came here for their pre-fixe menu. Overall, pretty solid, but nothing was exceptional. In addition to the pre-fixe menu I ordered their fois gras-- in my opinion that was the best dish of the night. The ambiance is lovely and the service was outstanding.

We came on a Tuesday for lunch. We got the lunch set. Which consisted of the following: Red pepper gazpacho - very refreshing - essentially a cold vegetable soup with crunchy vegetables. Nice contrast of textures and flavours. Red pepper really stood out in this dish. 36 hour beef short rib - main dish was a little bit of a let down for me. The crispy onions weren't crispy enough and the sauce on the beef short rib was a little too sweet for me. The blue cheese helped balance this out a big but would have appreciated more lemon vinaigrette. Lemon verrine was the highlight of the 3 courses. It was sour and sweet and made me want more. The almond crumble and tuile added that perfect crunch. Very refreshing and delicious. Overall: I've been to Hawksworth on 3 different occasions. Twice for lunch and once for happy hour. It's a place that guarantees good service and a good time. The food can be a hit or miss sometimes but you can tell they've put in the effort in creating their dishes. Would recommend the lunch tasting menu for anyone who wants to get a sample of what Hawksworth is all about

When you get considered one of the top restaurants in Canada, you better be up for it. Having been here twice now, I felt this rating is far more than fair. The Hawksworth is dressed up to be elegant and to offer one of Vancouver's best fine dining experiences. However, after tonight's visit, my disappointment was reaffirmed. Let's not beat around the bush here, the food is fine - but it's really nothing special. Another sad example of a has-been culinary gem that Vancouver can't let go of. Sad, lacking innovation and boring - really giving the PNW a bad reputation. To have a menu with only 7-8 entrees, it really is unacceptable to have your waiter come up to you halfway through dinner and saying the option you opted for is not available. Just goes to show the lack of management going on between the kitchen and the wait staff. Also, please don't bring my starters to me after my entree is almost consumed. To summarize, the Hawksworth has become a place you smile and say "dinner was great" just to appease yourself after you spent (or wasted) your money and your evening just to keep up with the illusion of what it once was.

My mother and I celebrated my bday on our trip to Vancouver at Hawksworth. The service was top notch and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this place and although I am a whiskey person I would recommend trying their cocktails! I would give the service 10 stars if I could!

Another amazing meal from Hawksworth. The food is so delicious and the presentation is out of this world. The baked Alaska was a treat to see as well as so tasty, it's a definite must if you like baked Alaska or dessert!! The service was impeccable as well. Love this place and if you are having a special occasion or just want a fine meal go to Hawksworth, they won't disappoint you.

Located at the Hotel Georgia, Hawksworth is a lovely place for a nice dinner! We ended up going here for my birthday thid year, so we did get a complimentary dessert with it. We opted to choose our own items over the tasting menu. I believe they rotate their menu seasonally but we really enjoyed the oysters and steak the most which was on the menu when we went early this year. Service was great and attentive, and our server was also very friendly and kept us engaged throughout the night! Making reservations online was also very easy, so definitely recommend if you're looking for a nicer place to get dinner at in Vancouver.

The server gave me so much info about the restaurant and offerings, but it felt fun and conversational and not like I was being flooded with information. He knew exactly when to check on me and was able to guide me in the ordering process since I was unfamiliar with the menu. I ended up getting a lovely 9oz pour of sav blanc to pair with my meal. The edamame was lovely. Way too much for one person, but not expensive. Ended up sharing with other solo diners. The tofu salad was incredible. I have never had anything like that in my life. It doesn't sound exciting, but it is a true adventure in textures and flavors. I wish I could recreate it, but it was just too special to even attempt. I got their specialty, which was a salmon aburri sushi. It melted in my mouth. So much flavor, perfect texture. I like sushi, but am not an adventurous eater in the world of seafood, so played it safe. This is a meal I will think about for years. The gal next to me got a sampler platter and said the salmon was her fave, so I am so happy I got a plate full of it. Will be back 100 times over.

And this place measures up to a lot of the ones in Japan! Ever since the viral sensation of the new evolved form of Omurice, many locations in Tokyo now also serve this dish. Outside of Japan, it's hard to find ones much better than what they serve here. We got to try the famous omurice, which is the Japanese omelette rice, and had some side dishes. The avocado bomb was super yummy, filled with avocado and covered with a deep fried layer of rice. The kontatsu tastes fresh and crunchy, the meat a little bit on the dry side but it's common. Chicken karaage was just okay to me. Personally it had too much batter on it. We both had the traditional omurice. The omelette was nicely cooked. When cut open, all the juice came out nicely. The fried rice underneath has a large portion, tastes good, but a little bit hard. The curry sauce on the side of the plate is quite salty, but it complement the egg well. The service was really good, and our server even came to ask some feedback for improvement. Overall, we really like this place and will stop again when in the area. Free parking is available in the underground parking lot. Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. But since they serve it in a broth, it does get soggy really quick. Still good, but after a few minutes its just soggy. The broth is nice with rice; comforting kind of meal. The unlimited rice/soup/cabbage is just icing on the cake. My dining partner had the Kake udon (pretty good, noodles good texture and slightly smaller strands than most places) and Menchi Cheese side - basically a pork meatball with cheese and deep fried katsu-style, served with katsu sauce. This was excellent. My original review still stands. Excellent katsu, plus they have the consistency and reliability. $28-30/meal and its plenty of food for 1, especially with unlimited cabbage/rice/soup. Restaurant is nice and comfortable, good spacing and not cramped. Easy recommend. 5/5.

Takenaka Uni Bar on Robson had me questioning why I don't eat sushi every day…read more Everyone on YouTube has been talking about this spot... so I had to see if it lives up to the hype The verdict? Yeah... it does. The fish? BUTTERY. fresh. melt-in-your-mouth perfection. You can tell immediately -- this is Vancouver-level sushi. And if you know, you know... the seafood here just hits different. Salmon = insanely fresh, rich, and silky Rice = perfectly seasoned (subtle, balanced, never overpowering) Presentation = clean, minimal, all about letting the fish shine What I really love? It's not trying to be trendy or flashy. No gimmicks -- just proper, high-quality sushi done right. Exactly what you want when you're downtown and craving something reliable but still hits. Service was quick, relaxed, and no fuss -- ideal for a casual lunch or a lowkey dinner. Final thoughts: If you're on Robson and need a sushi fix, this is one of those quietly solid gems that never misses. Not overhyped... just consistently good.

Takenaka Uni Bar was hands down one of the best meals of our entire Vancouver trip. If it were up…read moreto me, we would've gone here every single day. My partner and I ordered the Takenaka omakase course and it was unreal -- genuinely one of those meals you don't stop thinking about after. I love uni, and this absolutely delivered. There was both American and Japanese uni, and everything tasted incredibly fresh, rich, and deeply umami in the best way possible. The staff were amazing and so friendly, and the restaurant itself had the perfect vibe -- intimate, intentional, and special without feeling stuffy. This was the one place I marked as a MUST GO on our itinerary, and it exceeded every expectation. Do not skip this spot if you're in Vancouver.
