We ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza New York Style a few days ago however the flavor was good but the pepperoni and mushroom was very minimal. If there's some kind of shortage of pepperoni and mushroom that pizza showed it ughh. And for the Door Dash Service she was great. Don't know about the ambiance of the restaurant but due to the lack of pepperoni and mushrooms on our pizza don't think we'll be dinning in. I ordered the Lasagna, which is usually pretty good at this location. I waited for almost 20 minutes for it to come out. My wife got her food first. And when I got the Lasagna it was just luke warm. It wasn't very tasty either. The waiter was not very attentive. He spent more time talking to his friends behind the counter than us. They were also looking and laughing which seemed to be either at the table in front of us or us... The waiter was very monotone and had an indifference about him. Very disappointed in the food and service. We usually have a way better experience at this location. read more

Had the rare opportunity to have dinner with my daughter last night. What a nice time & treat. First, note it was Duke vs N Carolina basketball night, so be the restaurant was FULL. Yet, service was great. I ordered the chicken parmigiano and daughter had a pizza. We both had wine and split a beer. Her pizza was deep dish style and oozed fresh melting cheese. My Parm dish was a combo of perfectly executed breaded, then pan fried, chichen breast served over a large helping of spaghetti pasta noodles, each covered in a delicious marinara sauce. We completely finished the Parm, while most of the pizza went home for meals later. A very nice overall experience. read more

Came in to neighberhood restaurant. Upon a recommendation from Grace, they have an monthly special - Cuban Torta. While its not a traditional cuban sandwhich, their spin on this sandwhich is fantastic. The pork was so savory and delicious, the bread was fresh a Dough sandwhich, pressed, the rest was normal cuban ingredients. Fantastic and unexpected Cudos Hawthornes! Service was fantastic! And the restaurant was clean and has a good layout. I will be checking out the rest of the menu next few visits. Looking forward to it. read more

We were he about 1 week ago... I'm from WNY and born in Buffalo and used to a lot of home town Italian restaurants and a wide variety of pizza... and my family likes Hawthorns a lot. The wife gets their fettuccine Alfredo it's Wonderful... the portions are large and we usually take 1/2 home. The pizza is very good and very reasonably priced. The Chicken Caesar salad is very good too. My grandkids love the spaghetti and meat sauce (again big portions).We like the family atmosphere where kids are welcome as it has a cozy feeling. I'm be of the worst experiences I've ever had. Waited for an hour and a half past due date for pizzas for kids waiting at home to go trick or treating. Was told 15 more minutes multiple times in that span while I watched people come in order and get their food before me. All that was said when they were ready was "sorry". Many years ago I frequented the Hawthorne's on 7th Street that was close to my job (during lunch). Food was delicious. As locations have been added I like to pop in if I'm in the area. Food is always consistently good. Brought my Mom to this one after a doctor's appointment. Service was great. Pizza is always great but I also tried the shrimp. I thought it would be spicier which I like but it wasn't. That means I have to order again so my husband can try the shrimp. He does not do spicy. I also tried the bread. A little too soft for my liking but good. Pizza and salad is really my thing here. Wait! The restrooms. Very important to note. Clean restrooms! Booths are nice and roomy. This rating isn't based on food I've had here, but on something I witnessed on a recent visit to Hawthorne's. I stopped in because I was hoping to purchase a couple of slices of pizza. While I was waiting to be helped, I notice the host walking toward me adjusting his clothing and such. I don't mean to be vulgar, however, his arm was down his pants, only his elbow was visible. He may have been adjusting his shirt, but to say that seeing that as he walked to the hostess stand was unprofessional would be a major understatement. I'm sure he didn't realize I was standing there. Which is even more disturbing. Turns out that they don't sell slices, but if they did, I would have left without purchasing anything after witnessing that. Disgusting. read more

Best lasagna from outside mama's kitchen.. really good pizza and garlic knots cooked lightly

So far so good, got a table outside to enjoy a brisk October afternoon in the dappled sunlight. It's pizza week and there's a special and I'm peckish so it seems a good match. Garlic knots to start... six on a plate all oiled and knotty and garlicky with a wee pot of red sauce on the side. Nice breads; soft centers and firm crust with a good chew, oiled up well with real bits of real garlic. The red was quite satisfactory in its tomatoey goodness. Personable pizza was very New Yorkie in a good way. The Crew showed up in its oniony banaña pepper glory plus meatballs and sausage on a 9" platter just asking for a splash of garlic oil, who am I to deny such a simple request?! A dash of crushed pepper and a few shakes of cheese and I'm doing alright. The rosé cider on recommendation was a good fit. not to sweet, not too tart... just be aware of the flute fries outside. FYI: peppers is sweet, not hot. It's NYC so no real surprise on this one. read more

This place feels like a local hole in the wall in Huntersville! Our waiter was actually the bartender and he was very knowledgeable of the menu. He suggested the chicken bacon ranch pizza. It was great! My wife got the basil mozz pizza and it was just okay. We got personal pizzas. Our buddy got a full large pizza with bell pepper and salami. Very good! I'm very picky with ranking pizza but I give it a 7 out of 10. Overall good experience! read more

I'm very confused on how this bar has more then 3 stars... this pizza/most of my 60$ order was so disappointing. The cheese on my pizza is spicy. Taste something like pepper Jack cheese with American cheese????! The pineapple on my pizza was rotten, I literally have a stomach ache rn and only ate one slice. Explains why it was empty. Hawthorne's is our favorite restaurant in Huntersville. It's our go-to happy place for lunch or dinner. Our favorite things to order are the Elizabeth Special pizza. We order it almost every time we are there, but sometimes we'll order lasagna, meatballs or the chicken parmesan. The Godfather sandwich is amazing! We appreciate that they are able to accommodate large groups. I usually call ahead, but even the times we don't call ahead they are very gracious to place the tables together. The booths along the walls are comfortable and spacious, too. The beer on tap varies and the wine is reasonably priced. Bottled wine is half price on Sundays. Kudos, Hawthornes! Great food, great prices, lots of parking and friendly service. read more

The food here was not the greatest. We asked for a certain supreme pizza which would have peppers onions mushrooms. I got a pizza that had onions and sausage so I guess that's their supreme. I specifically asked for certain things on my pizza. We wanted to check out the best pizza at Hawthorne's in Huntersville , this pizza is not it. Order a large meat pizza and order of wing for delivery by Doordash,my problem is that the pizza was not good, no favor in crust, little sauce and the topping were just poor quality and very little cheese on the pizza. The price was outrageous and the 7 jumbo wings for 12.99 where dry and not very good. This the best pizza in town. read more

I've lived in Charlotte for almost two years and never tried Hawthorne's. I figured it was about time I tried it out! They weren't very busy Wednesday night but there were several loud children . I guess it's fair to expect kids at a pizza joint but I was surprised that their kid night was a different night based on the amount of screaming children in the restaurant. I can't hold that against them though but be aware of it before you decide to eat here. My waitress initially seemed annoyed that I was even there but eventually warmed up to me and even smiled once or twice ! She actually ended up being a great waitress but not very personable. I read reviews that raved about the pizza called "the inducer." It's basically a buffalo chicken pizza. I really wasn't impressed with it and I was surprised it actually wasn't very spicy. It's called the inducer because it can "induce" labor. I also ordered the pizza rolls as an appetizer but they were served after I received my pizza. There was nothing that great about this experience and nothing that bad. It was just a meh experience so I don't know if I will return. read more

Sat at the bar. Nice ambiance. It's a pizza place in a strip mall, but lighting and colors escape the shopping environment. I had the Godfather sandwich and a couple Legion Juicy IPA's. I don't live in this town, but I'll be back. Also, Bartender Katie was friendly and fast. read more

I thought I reviewed this establishment previously but my review is not online. I enjoy the atmosphere at Hawthorne's. Service is great and the food is delicious. My favorite is Pesto Pizza with chicken. The pizza is just the right size when a hungry woman (me) comes in for food. A quick check of the website shows they have many NEW options on the menu that I look forward to trying. Their varied menu surely has something for everyone in the family or group and they also carry a kids menu. You can't go wrong at Hawthorne's. While they are typically busy, there is usually no wait time for a table. They have an outside patio seating area as well. The restaurant has a full bar for liquid refreshment to go along with your food. read more

I don't usually do reviews this way but, the visit to Hawthorne's called for a different approach due to the variety of the components of the visit. Service: 5 Stars Greeted in a friendly way, seated and immediately asked for drink orders. One minute later a manager came up saying he noticed our server was double seated and wanted to make sure we got a drink order in. That was a nice touch. Our server overall was friendly and while very busy with a lot of tables, showed us an appropriate level of attention. Lots of different people brought food, cleared plates, etc. so a real team oriented approach to service. Salad: 4 Stars Got the Hawthorne's Salad which is mixed greens with candied pecans, mandarin orange slices, grape tomatoes, pepperoncinis and served with a blue cheese vinaigrette. All the components of the salad were fresh. The candied pecans were hit or miss in terms of being candied. The dressing did not hit me with much blue cheese flavor but was still very good and complimented the rest of the salad. One note - Stop charging $1 to split plates. That feels like such a nickel and dime kind of move and the way it annoys customers is not worth the few bucks you make off the practice. Pizza: 2-3 Stars It was A-OK in that it beat the frozen pizza I've got at home and was better than Dominos but to call this New York pizza is an insult to New York pizza. The biggest problem is the crust. No chew to it whatsoever. More bready than that yummy marriage of crispy and chewy that a real NY pizza crust brings to the table. I would love them to switch to a higher gluten flour. The toppings were a mixed bag. I really liked the beef being chunks of hamburger and not beef pellets. The pepperoni was nothing special but just fine. The white onions (nice touch to offer red or white) were plentiful but not really cooked enough. The cheese was average and the sauce was too sweet and, other than the crust, the worst thing on the pie. The menu has a good deal of variety and based on the salad and service quality we will be back to try other things but in terms of pizza, we'll go elsewhere. read more

For any potential customers, they use Door Dash for online ordering, and Door Dash always does what it can to charge you as much as possible to use their service which will add at minimum $3 to your purchase during an inflationary period. Love your pies fellas, but I'll only be stopping by when already out which will be much less frequent. read more

Been here a few times. The first time I was there was a few years ago, and the pizza was better than expected, yet not amazing. On the second visit, I sat at the bar with two friends, ate some wings, and appreciated good service. On the third visit, I was alone at the bar and ordered pizza. The pizza wasn't good and the bartender was sitting at a booth working on some kind of project. Overall, subpar food and subpar service. This place reminds me the local pizza places up in New York. I used to live in the Westchester County area and it is a really authentic place. The pasta sauces do not taste like they are straight from a can and the bread is freshly made on the premises for an outstanding taste. The bread for the sandwiches are also made on the premises and taste really good. Very busy location, make sure you come hungry and with time to wait! They do not deliver though, but if they did, I would always order pizza/pastas from them rather than Mama's Pizza on NC-115. read more

This was our first time dining in but not our first time trying the pizza. The entrance is a little confusing as there are doors on both ends. We ended up going in the one for take out then had to go back out to the other entrance to be seated for dine in. Once we were seated we were greeted quickly and had our drinks brought to us. There is a good selection of pizza and other items. I must say the Long Island Flavored (sweet & spicy) wings were VERY good!! We also ordered a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza (1/2 Elizabeth and 1/2 Buffalo).
