Came here with my husband and we are blown away! The service and food are amazing and the best part? Fresh tortillas made in house that are included with most plates! On top of that, they give you a complimentary flight of different salsas to try with your chips. They were ALL amazing. At some point, one of the waitresses (I'm assuming the owner) asked my husband and I if we like spicy salsas and we said yes. She then brought us a batch of a spicy salsa that was also just as amazing. I had the carnitas plate and my husband had the huevos rancheros so we split both. Best Mexican breakfast and carnitas in the high desert hands down. The only thing I will say is the rice and beans were so good that I wish it came with a little more. Based on the photo I posted, I feel the rice and beans portion was a little small for a Mexican restaurant and the amount of carnitas given. The inside is also very home-y. I felt like I was eating at my moms house. There's only about 7 tables to sit so I don't know if there's usually a wait on the weekends when they have menudo. Needless to say, I can't wait to come back here!

Kudos to the chef this food not only tasted muy Delicioso. I felt like my mama had made it. Start with the 4 salsa option they give each had such a favorable profile non in my opinion were hot they added flavor and to the dishes and chips. Now the carne asada torta was a perfect balance of meat to bread ratio and the beans gave it a creamy feel add the fresh onions and tomato's say less 10/10. Tacos were fresh and moist my only suggestions is you have homemade tortilla that I would use in the tacos or give that option. Next the breakfast scrambled eggs were done correctly not dry at all.. pancakes were a good size and fluffy. The only thing I was not impressed with is the Menudo it was a very weak broth and the meat just was bland. I will try the pozole next time to see how that hits. But like I say you try then decide.

Hay Madre Mía is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor, fresh, and clearly made with love. Every bite tasted authentic and comforting. The service was just as amazing: friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overwhelming. You can really tell they care about their customers and their craft. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, like a place you want to keep coming back to. I had a great experience from start to finish and will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

I ordered the special, Albondiga soup. The broth is best described as water. The vegetables were fresh, the meatballs were tasteless. The corn tortillas were homemade, but missing one ingredient, flavor. I also ordered the Senior plate of the taco combo. The carnitas in the taco tasted as if they were cured like ham. The beans tasted canned and the rice was undercooked. If you want to eat there, stick to the chips and the array of perfectly prepared salsas. I asked for a container to take the soup home. The waitress told me there were no containers for soup. My lunch buddy not only ordered Queso Birria, she pointed at the picture in the menu. The waitress brought her Quesadillas. It was rectified, but annoying. The place is cute & the drinkware ceramic and authentic. We have so many wonderful Mexican restaurants in the HD, go somewhere else.

One of my fellow yelper's raved about this here Restaurant recently and I had to try this establishment for myself & OMG ! IM SO GLAD WE DID !!!! People don't know this about me but I'm Mexican American & I've been favoring El Tio PePe but now we have two favorite Mexican restaurants to visit. My Grandma who only speaks Spanish just fell in love with this Family owned restaurant & raved about the food and chips but added that they need a hotter salsa but I disagree. The food is made to order absolutely delicious & let me tell you they pack your plate ! We were greeted in English and in Spanish which made my grandma & mama very happy. Loved the ambiance it's very quaint. So y'all if you're down for homemade Mexican food head on over to Hay Madre Mia you'll be glad you did

Very delicious food. We had tacos and the carnitas plate. Rice and beans portions are minimum but Martha the owner said you're more than welcome to ask for more . They are constantly checking if you're okay or need anything more. We asked for guacamole and made it right then and there. The tortillas are homemade. All the staff is very attentive and friendly. We had a nice conversation with owner Martha, you can tell she really cares about service and quality of the food.

This place is really good. Food tastes home made and their salsa and chips are delicious. They also have cafe de olla and they give you a cookie with it it's so cute and yummy. I'd definitely come back. The parking can be a little tight so try to get early if you can.

One day, my fiancé and I were driving through Old town Victorville, when He noticed a small restaurant with a colorful sign that read Hay Madre Mia. We agreed to come back the following day and give it a try. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated. Our waitress offered us drinks, I chose lemon cucumber agua fresca with chia seeds, and my fiancé ordered the Jamaica. Shortly after, she brought out a salsera with four different types of salsa, plus an additional hotter one, All served with crunchy homemade tortilla chips. For our meal, we ordered posole, a taquito plate, and a birria plate. Let me tell you, everything Was absolutely delicious, from the salsas to the entrées and the handmade corn tortillas! I even asked our young waitress if these were family recipes, and she proudly said yes, they came from her grandmother and mother. You could truly taste the food was made with mucho corazon. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food in Old Town Victorville, I highly recommend visiting Hay Madre Mia. You won't be disappointed!

The restaurant felt more like a banquet hall and not a restaurant. We asked for chips and salsa when we arrived and never got them, I guess they don't serve any. The carpet was stained and dirty, it didn't feel clean as we ate our food. We went on a Sunday which we didn't know they had brunch and live mariachi. We tried the fish and shrimp tacos which were absolutely delicious and over stuffed. The shrimp agua chiles were also delicious. The campechana cocktail was also great but hard to enjoy as it was filled to the top, couldn't mix it after adding chile, lemon etc. Also, I had to ask for a spoon, never had it with a fork before lol. The michelada was plain, needed more spices didn't finish it. It took a long time to get our waters and michelada but over 45 minutes to get our food, slow service. Waitress said it was due to the brunch food being cooked and refilled. We'll probably be back on a different day for the regular food on the menu or try their Sunday brunch for faster service. Mixed feelings about this restaurant, hopefully the 2nd time we have a better experience.
