2-Star Review
I purchased a 2026 Nissan Rogue from Hayward Nissan for business/fleet use under my LLC. While I am happy with the vehicle itself, my experience with the dealership was disappointing and unnecessarily stressful.
From the beginning, I explained that I was purchasing the vehicle for fleet purposes through my LLC. The sales manager confidently told me that he had handled fleet sales before and fully understood the requirements and financing process. Based on that assurance, I agreed to let the dealership run my credit, signed the initial purchase agreement, and made my deposit.
We were supposed to finalize the purchase on Sunday, but I was informed that I first needed to obtain commercial insurance. Since insurance companies were closed, I had to wait until Monday. While I was in the middle of purchasing a full year of commercial insurance, I received a call from the dealership informing me that Nissan had canceled the original deal.
I was then told that because the vehicle was being purchased under an LLC, the financing terms were completely different. I would now need to make a significantly larger down payment, accept higher monthly payments, and finance the vehicle for 36 months instead of the original 60-month term.
My biggest concern is not that the terms changed--it's when they changed. If the sales manager truly had experience with fleet sales and understood the process, these requirements should have been identified before my credit was pulled, before I signed a purchase agreement, and before my deposit was accepted. This is basic due diligence that should have been completed upfront, not after the customer has already committed to the purchase.
What made the situation even more frustrating was the way it was handled. The finance manager simply called to tell me that the deal had been canceled. At no point was I asked whether I wanted to proceed under the new financing terms. Had they simply presented me with the revised offer, I would have accepted the larger down payment and the 36-month financing because I had already committed to purchasing the vehicle and they already had all of my personal and business information. Instead, the decision seemed to be made without even giving me the opportunity to consider my options.
The paperwork process was equally frustrating. I ended up signing the purchase documents three separate times. The first time, after waiting at the dealership for nearly two hours, the finance manager was unable to add the GAP insurance in the system, so we had to complete the paperwork manually. After I left, I contacted the dealership because I wanted to make sure the GAP coverage had been properly included, but I received no response and had to follow up multiple times. The second time, I signed the documents electronically, but the dealership failed to send me a complete copy of the finalized paperwork. After more than a week of unnecessary back-and-forth, I finally had to sign everything electronically for a third time before the transaction was properly completed.
To make matters worse, after completing my purchase I compared pricing with several other Nissan dealerships and discovered that I had paid approximately $5,000 more than comparable offers for a similarly equipped vehicle. Unfortunately, by that point it was too late. I understand that dealerships have different pricing strategies, but I felt that I was not given a fair deal, especially considering everything else that happened during the buying process.
I am not writing this review because I regret buying my 2026 Nissan Rogue--I genuinely enjoy the vehicle. I am writing it to help future customers avoid the same experience. If you decide to purchase from Hayward Nissan, ask detailed questions, verify every financing term before allowing your credit to be run, carefully review every fee and add-on, compare prices with other dealerships, and make sure you receive complete copies of all signed documents before leaving.
My experience was marked by poor communication, lack of preparation, repeated paperwork errors, and a pricing experience that left me feeling misled. For those reasons, I can only give Hayward Nissan 2 out of 5 stars. read more
