They ran my credit multiple times without my knowledge or consent. I was told my credit would be run only once, yet it was pulled more than 8 times. I clearly informed them that I was already approved with Westlake Bank and specifically asked that my application be submitted only to that lender. They ignored my request and ran my credit with multiple banks anyway. This appears unethical and self-serving, potentially to maximize their profit at the expense of my credit score, without proper authorization. On top of that, the salesperson was completely uneducated about the vehicle. He couldn't answer basic questions, and the test drive was the worst I've ever experienced--unorganized, unprofessional, and rushed. Overall, this was the worst customer service experience I've had at any dealership. There are plenty of dealerships in California that respect their customers' time, privacy, and credit. Deceptive trade-in tactics, hostile management, and zero accountability. I contacted San Leandro Nissan regarding a truck on their lot and spoke with Gabby. After initially telling me the price was non-negotiable, the dealership reached back out asking for a trade-in. They stated that if I brought in a trade, they would drop the truck's price to my requested amount. I agreed, under the explicit condition that they match a written appraisal I already had from another dealership all in text messages. Before making the 2hr trip down to the showroom, I verified the final purchase price. It became immediately clear that they were manipulating the numbers to deceive me. They lowered the truck price by $4,582, but lowered my trade-in value by $5,000 to compensate. When I called to address this, the manager, Wilson, became extremely hostile and aggressive. Instead of handling the negotiation professionally, Wilson made rude remarks, stating, "You're lowballing my vehicle, so I'm lowballing yours." When I mentioned my higher CarMax appraisal, he aggressively replied, "Why didn't you find a truck at CarMax then?" When I met his challenge to show him a similarly priced truck in Vacaville, he snapped, "Why don't you go buy that car?" Getting tired of being talked down to, I asked a final direct question to de-escalate: could he sell the truck at the agreed price or not? He said no, and I ended the call. All he had to do was say no or even counter offer but that did not happen. This dealership uses deceptive trade-in tactics to trick you into thinking you are getting a deal, and their management relies on hostility when caught. Hoping for accountability, I called back and escalated the situation to the General Sales Manager, Paul. Unfortunately, the corruption goes all the way to the top. Paul refused to honor the deal his staff explicitly promised over text, offering a measly $700 discount and stated I'll have to talk to my team instead while protecting his team's deceptive math and abusive behavior.Do not do business here. (2) did not email my loan paperwork to me in a timely matter, so I could insure my new vehicle. had to go back to the dealership and make them print everything. (3) failed to make a good copy of my license for financing and had to go back to dealership for them to make another copy. I would't have known if it weren't for the kind Hyundai maintenance staffs telling me. Overall, the current Nissan Service maintenance dept gave me an impression that they were very short staffed. Tons of work to do but not enough manpower. I had to leave my vehicle at the shop for about two days for diagnosis and repair. Service staffs were professional. PSA: 1. This is a review for the service dept. Had an issue fast charging a used Nissan Leaf I just bought at another dealer. It was out of warranty, but had a 90 day warranty from the selling dealer. Service dept worked with the warranty company involved, and quickly got a resolution to the claim. This was close to a 6K repair. Really appreciated their effort to solve the issue. The dealer I bought the car from was no help - they wanted to just buy it back, and gave every excuse why it shouldn't be fixed. I'm guessing they get charged back on the warranty claims. Just a guess. I normally don't frequent service departments at dealerships, as I find they are overpriced and constantly upsell. I can't speak to their general service - but I'm thankful for the work they did on this car, and the efforts they made to deal with the warranty company. It's much appreciated. Don't even want to put a one star for this place. I received a flyer/coupon about a synthetic oil and filter change for $39.99. Called the # on there and had to leave a message for a call back. After about 4 hours, I called again and was able to reach someone and made an appointment and mentioned about the coupon. When I got there, had to wait 20 to 30 minutes before they can help because 2 associates (one was the manager) there at the desk was on the phone with customers. Once I got help, the associate asked the manager Sam if they take that coupon. Sam said to her that not all locations take that. The flyer/coupon has their phone number and address on there. I left mad. Called (5/17/25) to file a complaint and they said I have to talk to the manager. I asked if his name was Sam and they said yes. I said I want to talk to somebody above him and they told me I have to talk to Sam first. He was busy and gonna call me back in 10 minutes. Never receive a call. Now (5/18/25) still no call back. Terrible customer service. My mother bought a car through the almost two months ago. She got a grant from a program. There has been no communication. Regional director is a jerk he told her that he is sending the grant money back. When she talk to finance they indicated they received the funding but didn't know if it was on Honda side or Nissan side. I bought my car in February from Mazda. Wonderful experience fast and efficient. The regional director should be ashamed of himself treating older people this way. If you don't have cash up front or using a grant program don't go there. THEY SOLD ME A CAR WITHOUT SMOGGING IT. Hello, my name is Kyle Nolan and I decided to purchase a 2021 Nissan Altima from San Leandro Nissan 2 months ago. Since purchasing the car has run fine, a few untold issues arose but nothing crazy. However, the number 1 thing this dealership needs to work on is customer service after the car is sold. First of all, they sold us a car without smogging it. This caused issues with the DMV and our loan. I was not able to get my plates for this car for 2 full months, I just got them yesterday. This alone is not good practice for any dealership. However, this brings me to my next point. When we called to ask where the plates were we were met with lackluster responses saying oh they just take a while or no response at all, it seemed like we couldn't get any communication from these guys no matter what we tried. Calls, emails etc, no response whatsoever. 2 months pass and my mother leaves a bad review, all of a sudden they have a response on where the plates are, turns out every other time they told us they'd come they never really checked where they were at. After this, the dealership told us if we got the car smogged here in Concord they'd compensate us. When we called the dealership after getting the car smogged to get compensated like they said they'd do, the dealership said they'd be on it and would respond as soon as possible. Then, 4-5 days pass, no response. Again, calls, emails, to no evail. So, my mother leaves another bad review on yelp and what would you know Ray calls moments after and gets it figured out. I will say these guys were very nice, patient and cool to work with when buying this car and really left a good impression leaving the lot. However, as time has gone on it has been near impossible to get in contact with anybody who knows what they're doing when we need it and has been filled with delayed responses, half assed responses or no response at all. I'm saying this all to say you guys need to work on your customer service after the sale. You made many false promises saying if we needed anything you'd be there to help us, time has proven that was not true at all. I appreciate the help through financing my first car but this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. The only reason I am not leaving a 1 star review is because the car they sold passed smog and drives well, the service during the sale was good but after the fact was quite awful. It has the vibe of a small shop, in a good way. They ran a bunch of diagnostics that turned up nothing, and they charged us nothing. Do not come her for service maintenance. I was in for service a month ago for a diagnostic. I was told the repairs would not be covered under warranty so I decided to take my car elsewhere so I was charged the $250 diagnostic fee. No issue with this, it's policy. I was contacted a few days later by Sam de la Pena and was told that indeed my service would be covered under warranty, I was told incorrect information by the service advisor I previously worked with. I returned to have my car repaired and requested a refund of the diagnostic fee. Sam called the CFO and my request was granted. It's been several weeks and I've called a few times and I have yet to receive my refund. I have filed a chargeback with my credit card in order to move this forward. This is my 2nd issue with service at San Leandro Nissan, previous to this I was unable to use my Nissan reward dollars for a regular service even though I receive an email specifically saying to come in and use my rewards. Later I noticed the dealership had indeed used my rewards dollars and still charged me the full service amount. No refund issued for the rewards they used from my account. I really don't like writing bad reviews and usually save my comments for companies that deserve shout-outs for outstanding service. But my experience at San Leandro Nissan was so ludicrous that I just had to write. The one positive was that everyone I interacted with was very friendly, so the single star goes to them for trying to provide courteous customer service. But my customer representative struggled to explain the service reports, couldn't answer even simple questions, and took days to get back to me every time they had to go back to the mechanic for answers. And the work itself was beyond incompetent, so here's my review... I'm the original owner of a 20+ year Nissan that I've taken exceptionally good care of. One day it stalled out while I was driving and wouldn't restart so I had it towed to SLN. After a day or two I got a call saying the problem was the distributor, but otherwise "the engine's in great shape." A couple of days later they called to say the distributor didn't fix the problem and the spark plugs needed changing. A few days after that they called to say I needed a completely new engine (so much for being "in great shape") and the cost would be over $19,000. That's right, almost $20,000 to fix a 20+ year old vehicle! Obviously that wasn't going to happen so I made arrangements to have it towed back to my house until I could figure out what to do with it. When I got to the dealership to pay my bill (which, to be fair, only included a couple of hours of diagnosis time and didn't include a charge for a new distributor that hadn't solved anything) they presented me with an estimate to rebuild the engine -- two pages of itemized parts, totaling close to $20,000. I sadly accepted that my old vehicle had reached the end of its life. Once the vehicle was parked back home, a neighbor suggested I get a second opinion from a local shop that they had a good experience with. I went to the shop and talked to them at length before deciding to invest a couple of hundred dollars into one final, in-depth, conclusive diagnosis. A few days later they called me to say that the vehicle had a brand new distributor in it, but it was installed backwards, and once they turned it around the vehicle fired right up. They replaced the ERG sensor too, and about $700 later I was back on the road, passed a smog test, and registered for another year. It's been almost two months now and no further problems. Oh, and the actual cost to rebuild the engine, if it would have come to that, would have been more like $7-8K according to the shop that actually knew what they were doing. read more

My experience with this service department is surely causing me to never want to buy a Nissan again. My car engine malfunctioned on a local bridge. I had it towed to San Leandro Nissan because historically I have had an ok time with this service center. On Monday morning Alfredo called me and I explained what was going on - he handled things incredibly professionally over the phone. I was told I was get an update later that day and most likely parts would be ordered by the next day. I called the following day and heard nothing back. Now it's been 3 days. I have been without a car. I need a car to work. I get a call from Sam who says he's taking over. He says my car may be worked on for 3 weeks due to delays on parts. I ask if I can please use a loaner car. He says he will call me back in 5 mins. I tell him please call me back as this is urgent for me to plan my work. Now 4 hours later I am getting voicemail boxes that are full. I feel left in the dark about my vehicle and I am disappointed. I truly expected better from this place. This is my 3rd rogue in a row.
