Yikes. We had a scheduled maintenance check and they mailed it in. Zero confidence they actually did any of the work - just because the discrepancy between what I could see and what they wrote on the diagnostics. Because they may have done some of the work I have 2 stars. We paid for a "tire inspection" and the paperwork says our tires were all "green" rating (all good) but when I called back to question it (just looking at the tires) and they said "oh yeah these actually need to be replaced". We had a slow leak they didn't find it and actually gave us BS tire pressure on the write up. I got home and it was 4 lbs below and our leak is not that fast. They could have easily done their job and upsold us 4 new tires. They upsold us on resurfacing front brakes but don't have ANY measurements on the wear and tear saying "any reputable mechanic will always resurface front only" but the quote was so high that it was a blessing that helped me find my new mechanic. So thank you for that. read more

I was looking for a way to enter the EV market without breaking the bank. As a Honda fan (previous vehicle was a 2010 CRV) I knew I could rely on the brand to offer something that was brilliant in quality and drivability. However, seeing that most of the inventory out there was brand new and out of my price range, I decided to look at older cars with EV/hybrid functionalities. I have to thank Ricky (Ricardo) and Mary Cao for not only their prompt and excellent service, but also their willingness to be honest and straightforward with me with the whole process. I truly felt like this experience was tailored for me, even though I already was decided on the 2018 Honda Clarity they had in stock. I spent $980 at this service center for scheduled maintenance, including new spark plugs, CVT fluid, brake fluid, and differential fluid. Right after driving off the lot, my car started jerking. When I brought it back, it turned out all four cylinders were misfiring because an air hose was left completely disconnected during the work. My car is now is a worse spot than it was before I brought it in for maintenance. Incredibly disappointing experience and will not be returning. I do not recommend getting serviced at San Leandro Honda. I want a refund for my service. read more

They were not successful, but the driver door handle was damaged (I had gotten a little too comfortable parking it outside instead of in my gated driveway..). John from the service team took care of the entire process and did an outstanding job. He kept me updated as parts were ordered and always made sure I knew the estimated timelines. We got our registration renewal for our 2018 CrV. It required that we get a written verification that a particular emission recall had been rectified. I called down and made an appointment for the next morning. Jesus, who happens to live in our neighborhood, wrote us up, showed us the form that we would be receiving and took our keys. A few hours later, he called and said that the work had been completed as well as a general inspection of the vehicle. When we arrived back to pick up the CrV, he walked us to the Cashier. They had us sign the invoice (there was no charge), and gave us our keys back. This is the kind of service that we like. No waiting all day, no oh we found something wrong, no we don't have the parts in stock that you needed. Get it in, get it done, get it out. Early on, eliminated Toyota and Autonation due to lack of cars, higher prices/interest rates, unwilling to discount... Curious all but one salesperson approaching me were Muslim. Listen to all sales info as truth subject to verification. Each person had an unique angle signally it as exclusive. Turns out 2.9% financing, free 24 month oil change, & other warranties were standard Honda policies. Came to S.L. Honda out of curiosity thinking they had limited inventory. Sure was wrong. Lots of cars on lot. Musa was only Asian rep. I met. After exchanging info, Musa exceeded my expectations with a price lower than a counteroffer i had prepared for a different dealership. Musa saw my diligent preparations & made a generous offer with 1.9% financing. Before i could buy, an Honda recall happened to my '24 car to be. Post Thanksgiving the deal was done. Finance manager was a relative breeze compared to other car purchases. Many salespersons i met previously work for Toyota. Highly recommend Musa and S.L. Honda. read more

Today at 10:30am, I brought my 2021 Honda CRV at the Honda SL Service Center so they can check the A/C since it is blowing warm air on the left side panel. I asked what time will it be ready and the representative Angelica told me to call around 4pm. So I called at 4pm only to find out that they were not able to check what's wrong with the A/C, no service was done. The technician Kevin told me that they were not able to service the car and asked me to come back tomorrow. In other words no one checked the issue of my car's A/C. OMG! They did not provide any reason for their oversight. This is not acceptable! I will never take my car to this location, NEVER AGAIN! read more

Came in on Saturday 11/1, 10:30 to have my horn checked. I know it's just a fuse. They sent me away because they were too busy. Kind service person said I should make an appointment. So, I did for today, 11/8, 9am. Arrived at 8:55, and they said they'd need my car until at least 3pm....? Guy said they had a lot of walk-ins...??! They're usually very efficient, but I feel like they're giving me the low-key run around. I know it's just a fuse. Yet they're charging me $99 for a diagnostic? But, I'm getting a discount because it's usually $199? Lol I also advised them I know the horn blew a fuse because I used it too much in a parade. I feel like they know it's an easy fix but they're making a mountain out of a molehill. Obviously to charge me more. But, I'm most upset that, even with an appointment, it's taking this long. :/ Again, I understand the service techs' hands are tied and they can only do what the repair people tell them, but still.. not good customer service. read more

8/4/25: I have been here since 7am. I am getting a wheel alignment, 2 rear tires changed and an oil change. Jesus checked me in. He was polite and efficient and said the car would be done by 10/10:15. I inquired at 10 and was told it would be another 20 minutes. It is 10:40 and another c/s rep is now assisting me because I am STILL waiting.(The call 2 the person assigned to my car was unhelpful. The car was "not on the rack"). I completely understand if my transmission is being changed. Taking 2 wheels off, doing an alignment and getting an oil change shouldn't take this long. People who checked in after me have already left. It is 10:42 am and I'm still waiting. I've bought 3 cars here and this is disappointing. 10:45 Jesus brought my car out and gave me a discount of about $20 for the delay. That was thoughtful,but the time is took will definitely make me rethink coming here again. read more
