I had a terrible experience at Hayward Mitsubishi. I purchased a car on May 23, 2025, and paid a $2,000 down payment. We agreed verbally that I'd return in two weeks to pay the remaining $1,000, but no payment method was confirmed. On June 9, without contacting me or getting my approval, they charged my debit card for $1,000 -- which I never authorized. They never had permission to save or reuse my card. That's not all -- the salesperson, Jacqueline, also added an extended warranty to my deal without discussing it with me. I noticed it while signing paperwork (after she had left) and immediately asked for it to be removed. I texted her directly to confirm removal, and she never responded. To this day, I have no proof it was removed. When I asked for a refund and accountability, Jacqueline became dismissive and rude. I bought a used 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage in April 2025 1. The car had warped rotors with deep grooves and scratches. When you press the brakes on the car it was seriously dangerous. The cars left tire and sterling wheel would violently extremely shake. When test driving and noticed the sales person said not to worry about it and 'it would go away by it self' then ended up being extremely dangerous and a hazard to drive. When I press the brakes at highway speed the whole front end would violently shake and almost fish tail (reverse fish tail fell The front end) or blow a tire. Luckily I am Mechanical inclined and was able to change the rotors my self saving me $1000-1500. Please see picture as there was a massive deep grooves or divot causing this issue. This could have killed me and my daughter after leaving the dealership and in the recent days after I bought the car. 2. The car had 12XXX mileage on it so you would think the dealership would have done regular maintenance like oil change or tire rotation. This was never done and I had to do these maintenance items. 3. When asked about a 2nd key when buying the dealer ship stated 'it's a used car and all used cars come with 1 key' in 2018 my USED BMW Came with 2 keys. In 2025 and junky 1991 aero star came with 3 keys. This place will just assumes with blatant white lies. 4. DMV paper work never came after 2months when I complained then immediately sent it to me via fedex next day air. Like why ? Isn't this just a normal dmv and or part of your job ? Clearly shows a badly and ignorant dealership who sold me a borderline lemon 5. This thing was basically a death trap. I got a 2024 Outlander last year and there some issues with the cupholder leather in the middle row and with driver's window as well. Quick honest update here.. 3 months after purchasing the car here. 1st they never explained about the dealer not taking care of the dmv fees (sales man nor finance department informed us) First paper we were shown had it included within their little estimate But on the contract it didnt show? Then the dealer didnt want to take care of the dmv fees unless we "Left them a good Yelp Review" okay sure whatever we did it. And now 3 months later we received a letter saying we owe Hayward Mitsubishi the amount of the dealer fees that they "took care" for us. Salesman was trash. INSPECTION REPORT I work in the ocean marine industry. One of my duties is to order inspection through one of our vendors for marinas, yacht clubs, and boat repair facilities in order to observe if there are any substantial risks that can cause potential claims. Once I receive these reports I forward the recommendations to my brokers. They come back stating the insured feels some of the recommendations are not necessary. I understand where they are coming from. However recommendations are helpful to improve safety guidelines but not all recommendations are mandatory. When it comes to cars, inspections provide recommendations of how to improve your car. The light on my Montero Sport's dashboard was flashing "Service Engine Soon". According to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport Manual I needed to bring to an authorized Mitsubishi Dealership to see what problems your car is facing as your car might have some emission concerns. Yesterday I came here without an appointment to have my car inspected. People might complain about an inspection of their car for two reasons: 1) price of the inspection 2) finding out the real problems of your car. The price is a legitimate concern but I will say if the price of the inspection is over $500 don't have your car inspected because that's a ripoff. The price I paid for the inspection is $133. Finding out the real problem of your car is most the important reason to have your car inspected. In addition to the inspection I went here for an oil change. Since I didn't have an appointment I was informed the oil change and inspection would take 2 hours because there was a lot of cars that the mechanics were working on yesterday. Due to the cars ahead of me the process of the oil change and inspection took more than 2 hours. When the inspection was done according to the inspection report there were some minor recommendations that I can do on my own. However the main concern was the catalytic converter. When your car doesn't pass the smog test the main reason is because of the catalytic converter. According to the Service Advisor Andrew Penuela the cost of the parts and labor to fix the problem with the catalytic converter is between $1,500 to $2,000. Paying an inspection of $133 to find a $2,000 problem is an investment worth paying for. Due to the year and miles on my Montero Sport the inspection was vital to decide whether to fix the problem with the catalytic converter or retire my car to buy a new car. read more

Don't buy a used car from these folks. The car runs fine but the manual key that turns on the car does not open the trunk or the driver's door. I have repeatedly contacted them about this problem and frankly, they just have been ignoring the problem. I called them and visited them and I still only have my electronic key that works fine. However, I know sometimes the electronic key might conk out and I'll be stuck unable to move the car from whatever location it's parked at. Save yourself the hassle and go look elsewhere. read more
