I really wanted to like this place, especially because it was my first time coming here, but unfortunately my first experience will probably also be my last. I only had a 35-minute lunch break, INCLUDING the time it took me to walk there and back, so I was looking for something quick and easy. I ordered the 14A sandwich, which is listed on the menu with sprouts, onions, tomatoes, avocado and hummus, and asked for it on a spinach wrap. The sandwich was $15, which I was willing to pay because with ingredients like avocado and sprouts, I understand why a veggie sandwich might be a little more expensive. I got my food and walked all the way back to the school, only to open it and realize there were NO sprouts on my sandwich. At that point, I didn't have enough time left in my lunch break to walk back, so I called instead. I was put on hold for about two minutes while the employee took the order of someone who was physically in the restaurant. Fine. Once she got back on the phone, I explained that I had just ordered the 14A and there were no sprouts on it. Her response? "We no longer use sprouts. We stopped a few weeks ago. We've been telling people for weeks." Okay...but telling WHO for weeks? Because this was literally my FIRST TIME there. If an ingredient is no longer available and hasn't been available for WEEKS, why is it still listed as an ingredient on the menu? And more importantly, why wasn't I told when I ordered it? Had someone simply said, "Just so you know, we don't carry sprouts anymore," I would have ordered something completely different. Instead, I paid $15 for a sandwich based on the ingredients advertised on the menu and didn't receive what I thought I was purchasing. And honestly, the missing sprouts irritated me less than the response. "We've been telling people for weeks" means absolutely nothing to a first-time customer who has never been there before. I can only order based on the menu you gave me and the information your staff provides when I order. If you stopped serving an ingredient weeks ago, update the menu or tell customers BEFORE they pay for something that no longer comes as advertised. First visit. Probably my last. One star. read more

Hands down one of the best Caesar wraps I've had! It's a small little shop with plenty of outdoor seating, and I was able to find parking pretty easily. The chicken was seasoned so well, the lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the croutons were such a good addition and gave it the perfect crunch. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I'm sad to dock a star for Hazel's but the past few times I've come here, they've prepared our orders wrong :( I always ask for no cheese and for croutons to be added for the Chicken Caesar Wrap but received it as it normally is (with cheese and no croutons) the past 3 times. My boyfriend also ordered the steak melt with dutch crunch bread and he received some other type of bread instead. Hazel's is amazing when they get the orders right but it's disappointing that they have prepared our orders wrong multiple times in a row now and it's hard for us to tell until we get home! We'll have to commit to opening up our items at the storefront before we head out next time. read more

Best chicken caesar wrap I've tried in SF!! I've tried around 10 different caesar wraps now and nothing beats this one. It's toasted/grilled and the inside is generously coated in the vibrant and tart caesar dressing. Tossed perfectly with whole grilled chunks of chicken, shredded Parmesan, and crunchy well seasoned croutons. I don't think it totally worked as a combination but I liked the creativity on the attempt. Just a little too much going on and it didn't really click. Also I think it would have been better if the ingredients were chopped smaller in terms of the integrity of the sandwich. The fillings were just spilling out and it was hard to manage. It was also good to see that they welcome substitutions. The veggie melt came with a balsamic vinegar based sauce that adds a tinge of sweetness to the sandwich.
