This has got has got to be the best sushi I have ever had and I've been eating sushi for well over 40 years! My wife and I shared the sushi sashimi platter for two. It was reasonably priced and contained well more than enough sushi/sashimi for both of us. Also included two premium rolls. Every piece was thick and tasted amazingly fresh. More recently, some of the sushi restaurants give you very thin slivers of fish with lots of rice. This was the opposite! We will definitely be returning and will make this our go to place for sushi on the North Shore of Long Island. Service was very fast and accurate. 3 stars I believe that the quality overall has improved. Freshness, packaging and utensils. Today s order particularly fresh. Even the ginger smells like just come right out from the marinating. The sushi rice underneath is plump and flavorful. However, some fish cuts are rather thin. Portion definitely sized down. I have visited a couple of times in person. I'm updating my review because something that adds to the poor experience of this establishment and which is disappointing, is the owner's lack of accountability, condescending tone, and her defensiveness to honest reviews (Look at her response to mine below and to her responses to everybody else). M'am, respectfully, I know what good quality and flavorful rice, red curry, and vegetables are supposed to taste like, and this was not present in your food. I ordered lunch from Hazuki for the first time earlier via DoorDash and was mostly impressed! I got the Chicken Katsu Lunch Bento Box and the Shrimp Tempura appetizer (both pictured). I really enjoyed the chicken katsu and shrimp tempura, which were cooked very well - tender on the inside, crunchy on the outside without being too greasy. The California roll and shumai that came in the bento box were delicious as well. Unfortunately, the salad greens were starting to brown and the white rice was on the hard side, so I'm not sure that those sides were very fresh. All in all, I'd consider ordering from Hazuki again when I'm in the mood for Japanese food, but I'd hope the ingredients were more fresh next time! read more

I'm used to a little more seafood, rice and some seasoning around the edge. The salads had the largest chunks of iceberg lettuce I've ever seen! This is simply well cut, fresh, high quality sushi. The ikura (salmon roe) did not skimp on the ikura (a common problem because it's so expensive). The spider roll had real soft shell crab for that low price! The tempura was done well (it's hard to get melon right). The rolls were imaginative and well constructed (no falling apart even when my kids misused chopsticks). I have zero complaints about anything here.
