Great spot! The food is very clean and authentic. We tried their margarita and it was really good! They made it look really cute too! Quick service, extremely attentive and friendly staff. I highly recommend visiting here if you're in the area.

Really enjoyed our evening here. It was packed which is a great sign. We shared the Mexican flag fajita which was fabulous! Drinks are well balanced and at a great price point. The only thing that I was surprised about was the cost of the small queso $$$, but otherwise a great value. We will be back!

4.5 stars! Very glad we chose Hb Mexican Kitchen for a family dinner tonight on a Thursday evening. My niece said the tamale on her combo plate was one of the best tamales! I will order a tamale next time. Mom got migas a la Mexicana because they serve breakfast all day. Other people in our group ordered the street nachos, kid's pancake, and quesadillas which were served with rice and charro beans. Everyone loved their meals! I ate a lot of chips and salsa before ordering, so I just nibbled off others plates (had a one nacho and a small portion of migas in a flour tortilla). The Mexican Martini was SOOOOO GOOD! Perfectly shaken martini at a great price point of $7.50! My mom had a large frozen margarita. On the receipt it was labelled a "monster". Not bad for $11.50! Zulma was our server and took great care of our party of six! I will request Zulma as my server every future visit! This is a great restaurant for large groups. We had a few sopapillas to end the evening. Zulma also tempted us with their other desserts: Churros, Sopapillas (half order is 2 pieces), Tres leches cheesecake, fried ice cream, & more. They are a Bay Area Houston Food Lovers participant so don't forget your card at home.

First visit. Lupe waited on us and he was awesome! Interior is much like Barcenas, prior tenant, so somewhat upscale and nice. Food was amazing! Homemade chips and salsas served warm. The beef fajita meat was marinated and so tender. Beans insanely flavorful as were the chilaquiles. Just a really enjoyable meal!

I don't remember the name of this dish, but it was delicious!

We have to go to MD Anderson in League City every 3 weeks. We stumbled upon HB between Dr visits and have gone back on all but one visit. The food is consistently delicious. The margaritas are perfect and the price is reasonable. The wait staff is very kind, generous and attentive. Ask for a frequent visitor card and get $15 off after 7 visits. The ambiance is perfect as well.

As I write this review, this restaurant currently has a rating of 4.6 stars with 120 reviews. Before coming, I also reviewed several pictures that other folks have posted on yelp, and I thought I'd give this place a try. After driving by the front of the restaurant and pulling into the parking lot, I started to have second thoughts about coming here. From the outside, it certainly did not appear to be a location worthy of an excellent rating on yelp. Still, I trusted the yelp community, and I decided to come inside. Boy, the yelp community was right on this one! This is one of those restaurants that is excellent, but you wouldn't know it unless you gave it a try. Immediately after entering, I decided to take a seat at one of their tables in a corner. Just after sitting down, a gentleman came over and delivered some fresh chips and two kinds of salsa. My waitress came over shortly thereafter and introduced herself. Her name was Marcella (sp?). She was friendly and professional throughout my experience here, and she was patient with me in explaining some of the items on their menu. After reviewing their menu and eating a bunch of their chips and salsa (which are ridiculously good), I decided what I wanted. I ordered the "Quesabirria w/Consome," with beef, which are 4 birria and cheese tacos, served with onion, cilantro, pickled onion, radish, and special spicy salsa. I ordered a Coca-Cola along with my dinner order. I definitely made the right choice for my meal. They were generous in filling my tacos with a bunch of shredded beef, and they were amazingly good. My soda was refreshing as well. In my opinion, this is a better place for authentic Mexican food rather than Americanized Mexican food. After my meal, my waitress said that she is giving me some of their dessert for free since this was my first time here. She was very kind, and an excellent waitress. Overall, I did have an excellent experience here, just as so many others have had. This was a reminder for me that sometimes I need to just trust the yelp community, and most often a high yelp rating is high for a valid reason. If you're in the area, you should give this place a try. Glad it did! First, the wait time - we showed up on a Sunday morning, right after some kind of race in the area. They told us the wait would be about 45 minutes to an hour, and we waited 55 minutes. No big deal - at least their estimate was accurate. But beware if you're on a time crunch on a weekend at brunch time :) Great hash! I had CHRISTINA'S TAMALE CAKES (Benedict), and loved it. It was top two of my meals in this visit to Texas. The carnitas were flavorful, the poached eggs were perfect, the corn bread base on the tamale wrapper was awesome. If I could improve the dish - and that would be hard to do - I would ask for a bit more of that delicious green chile Hollandaise sauce on top, which I would buy by the jug if I could. The smashed potatoes were excellent - very well seasoned and oiled and salty to go with the sweet from my main dish. My companion loved her hash dish and I scooped up some of her sauce to eat the last few bites of my cornbread. Loudness - This place was LOUD. They had a DJ spinning some great music choices - but I couldn't really converse with my wife during breakfast. I am well aware that I sound old and crotchety. I love the clubs - but this was like being in a club during brunch. Hygiene - The hostess at the front desk station was on her phone the entire 55 minutes we were waiting. When I asked her if I could get a Bloody Mary to save me from boredom during the wait - she told me to hang on. Then she sat on her phone and talked and texted for another 5 minutes or so. My wife dropped a pair of tongs on the floor from the Bloody Mary bar. Another lady picked them up, and told the lady behind the station that it had fallen on the floor. She didn't wash it - she just stuck them back in the jar where people are grabbing the food for their Bloody Marys. In hindsight - I don't know if I would have taken advantage of the endless toppings on the bloody Mary bar.

As I write this review, this restaurant currently has a rating of 4.0 stars with 380 reviews. Before coming, I also reviewed several pictures that other folks have posted on yelp, and I thought I'd give this place a try. The outside of this restaurant is well lit and inviting. Parking is plentiful, and they have several handicapped parking spots for folks who need that. Upon entry, I was immediately seated in one of their booths by their hostess. The busboy came out a few minutes later, bringing some fresh chips and two kinds of salsa. The busboy didn't seem too friendly; he didn't say a word or even crack a smile. My waitress came out a couple of minutes later, and her name was Eliza C. She was friendly and professional, and she was attentive to my dinnertime needs throughout my experience. The chips and salsa they serve here are amazingly good. While I decided what I wanted to eat for dinner, I couldn't stop eating them! I ordered one of their "Maximina's Build Your Own Cominados," choosing an order with two items. For my two items, I ordered an enchilada with beef picadillo, and I ordered a crispy taco with beef picadillo. I ordered my meal with a side of their Mexican rice and refried beans. I also ordered a Dr. Pepper with my meal. My meal was delicious. The refried beans were excellent, and they had a smoky/bbq taste to them. The Mexican rice was delicious as well. They did an excellent job on my enchilada and taco, and they provided a generous filling with beef on both. They were delicious as well. The Dr. Pepper was also refreshing, and I appreciated that they served it in a glass rather than a plastic mug. One thing I noticed in their menu is that they appear to pay attention to folks who have vegetarian and/or gluten free needs in their diet. This doesn't effect me, but it is appreciated, so kudos to the management for that. Unfortunately, I also noticed that they require a mandatory "large party fee" for parties of 8 or more, which is 20%. This didn't effect me either, but it would be annoying to me if I were in a large party. I think this is unnecessary, presumptuous, and a little annoying. It is essentially a tip that is mandatory, regardless of the quality of the food or the service. If you have a large party, just make sure you don't add another tip on top of this mandatory tip (for the large party) without realizing this. The management should reconsider this annoying practice. Overall, I had an excellent (almost perfect) experience here. I would definitely come here again the next time I'm in the area. Plates and chips were tossed onto the bar--technically within the vicinity, though apparently not within reach. We were then asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered a dressed draft beer and a 50/50 Rita. The beer arrived beautifully cold and perfectly poured. The margarita, however, was roughly 90% frozen and 10% margarita--the precise opposite of what we were hoping for. It wasn't exactly the warm beginning one hopes for when settling in for dinner. I have not ordered straight up fajitas yet but would hope they are better. The molé sauce on the enchiladas is pretty good. Chips and salsa are provided. I give lunch/dinner menu 3 stars. Bottom line - in my opinion, breakfast is better than lunch/dinner. I give breakfast four stars and lunch three stars. That averages to 3.5 hence the 4 star review. Bon appétit, y'all.
