The Hatch Chili Enchiladas were fantastic with the chicken fajita meat and spinach topped with the poblano sauce and what tasted like a drizzle of the read sauce included on their shrimp empanadas. So good! And of course it is watermelon margarita season and it did not disappoint! I don't know what voodoo magic they do with those to make them taste so fabulous!!! I love the addition of the large watermelon slice which makes the drink pretty as well as functional. Our server, Julian, provided excellent service where we did not want for a thing! Naturally the restaurant itself with the beautifully done lighting fixtures in the main dining area as well as the bar area are simply gorgeous. Been coming here for years and the food has always been great. Unfortunately, over the past few months I've noticed the service and cleanliness have gone downhill dramatically. Not sure if there's new management or what has changed. Today was the final straw. My wife and I came in for lunch on Memorial Day shortly after they opened. The restaurant wasn't busy and there were plenty of servers working. We were brought chips and then completely forgotten about. We sat there for 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to come back and even take our drink order. Nothing. What made it worse was watching multiple servers walk right past us without ever making eye contact or checking on us. We finally got up, moved to the bar, and ordered our food there instead. We did let the hostess know about our experience, but no manager or staff member ever came over to apologize or even acknowledge the situation. Our go to TexMex spot in league city! Pretty identical menu to their sibling restaurant chain Gringos with some additional menu items like their chimicanga. Our go dishes are the southwest eggrolls app, al pastor bowl, and our favorite dish the skirt steak fajitas. The fajitas here are marinated well and super tender. We had lunch here yesterday. We went around noon. We ate outside. My daughter & son in law and I enjoyed the yummy hot food. Our waiter was exceptional. The food was delicious & fresh as usual! We started with the appetizer fresh avocado and chips. I had the Dirty Tostada Dinner and you get two huge fully packed tostadas with Pulled Pork, shredded lettuce, sliced onions, shredded cheese, avocado, corn, black beans, pico de gallo, tossed in a salsa but not too much, and queso fresco topped w/sour cream, and it is so refreshingly delicious. It comes with your choice of beans & Spanish rice. I got Boracho beans to go with mine and Coke Zero. The kids got cheese quesadillas which were so delicious as well and my daughter got grilled chicken. The kids loved the play ground especially the slide. We can eat and talk while they play. Just a fun night of appetizers and queso with a friend. The music was quite loud, as it is a fiesta. Queso was on point served with fresh and pickled jalapeños. (Burn) chips and salsa with an order of their Mexican egg rolls. It was fun reading lips when screaming across the table. Restrooms were clean and the wait time was long, but it was a Friday night. Went yesterday and picked up some food I ordered and payed online. To my misfortune, the items I ordered were COLD, not even warm and I only live a mile from the place (one of the items was a soup). Will never go there again. I've been there before, inside and to go. Somehow lost the he picture of my shrimp Diablo; probably because it is cemented in my memory forever! This is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant. I love my shrimp diablo! I have ordered it other places in my travels and have always been disappointed. A proper shrimp Diablo has to have the bacon wrapped shrimp, the stuffing, the right amount of char on the bacon,, and this amazing Diablo sauce! Pair that with some homemade tortillas, and you just might get hooked too! All the sides are made just right, beans are flavorful, rice is good, margaritas are excellent. The hostess was nice, waitress was nice, food was pretty good. I had the rib-eye street tacos, wife had shrimp tacos and a frozen drink. I would give this place 5 stars, BUT for, the nasty restroom. I had to go, and was grossed out with the urinal. For some reason there was old dry blood spattered on it. Made me lose my appetite, there is no way the employees were unaware. Stopped in on a whim as freeway was backed up from an accident and we were headed to Salt Grass. Seated right away, order taken timely. Early in the lunch hour it wasnt as loud as it can get. Food was great especially the shrimp diabolo. We had leftovers and a togo order for hubs, the chicken suisse enchiladas which he loves. You know your meal isn't going according to plan when not one, but two different managers come over to explain why you're not having a great dining experience..... our food took about 45 minutes, and when it did, it was cold. We ordered the basic of basic: chicken soup and a Juanita entree. By the time our food arrived we had to get it to go. The outdoor dining gives off resort like type of feel, for a split second felt like I was at a resort in Mazatlán or Puerto Rico . Inside dining was nothing short of amazing . We came for a late lunch with family the day after Thanksgiving (it was around 2:30 and there were 6 adults and 3 children, at first were told it could be 30-40 minutes but only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated fortunately). We had 2 orders of the queso for our table, normally I'm not a big fan of queso blanco, I prefer traditional yellow chile con queso, but this was very good, would definitely recommend. I ordered the Jimmy's Deluxe, which comes on two plates, which is good because it's a lot of food and you wouldn't want to get it all at once. First plate is the beef taco, bean tostada, queso chip & guacamole, all very good, although I wish they hadn't piled SO much lettuce on the bean tostada, it's kind of a ridiculous amount of lettuce to have on that, plus it makes it very difficult to eat. The second plate was the cheese enchilada, pork tamale, rice and beans. The cheese enchilada was not something I would get again, I don't know why but there was just something off for the cheese flavor inside. The tamale was fine, nothing special. The rice and beans were good, but they do one of my least favorite things as a Tex Mex restaurant, which is put corn and carrots in the rice. My husband had the fajita bowl and it was very good, I tried a bite of it and I think overall I liked it better than he did. Again, my biggest issue with that is everything is in a bowl together, including the rice which has the corn and carrots in it, and it's harder to avoid that way, whereas with just my rice I could separate it out pretty easily. But if that's not a problem for you, then it would be a good option. I judge Tex Mex restaurants based on these things: Chips & salsa: 5/5 - I really enjoyed their avocado salsa they included as well Queso: 5/5 - although not yellow, it was very good Cheese enchilada: 2/5 - weird flavor Chicken enchilada: N/A, haven't tried but would in future Rice: 3/5: good flavor but hate having corn and carrots in it So overall I give it 4 stars for being very good and having some unique options, but not something I'd want to have regularly. read more

We stopped in a year ago on our way back from Galveston, and it was so amazing that we couldn't wait to come back. This Friday night, we were in the area again. It was very crowded and busy. Luckily, we had joined the waitlist online. The queso and drinks were delicious. Our server was great too; she never let our chips basket go empty. But we got full early, and were disappointed with the main entrees. My pastor bowl was served cold. Not was I was expecting. It tasted good, so I never sent it back. Some things have jimmy changed since my last review. 1. (Their strawberry lemonade is still absolutely phenomenal, that's not what this this is about) 2. We came to pick up a Togo order. We waited in curbside for a shocking long amount of time. When we got our food, Twas cold. Using my context clues, I concluded that our food had BEEN sitting out. 3. If you thought point 2 was bad, then this part might leave you with mental scars. I went inside to get an ice cream cone. Doesn't sound so bad yet, right? Wrong. I got to the machine and discovered that there weren't any cones left. Desperate for the creams, I told the hostess that the ice cream station had run out of the cones. Despite having no customers in line, I was pointed towards the huge boxes of ice cream cones under the ice cream machine counter. (Here's a break because this next part is the worst, take your time reading it; you'll need it.) With ultimate confusion and a growing sense of workload, I picked up one of the industrial boxes of ice cream cones. I took one of the empty cone boxes off, and attempted to replace it with the new one. However, due to me not working at jimmy changas, I didn't know the proper way of installing the cone box. Because of this, the cone box at jimmy changas is currently installed incorrectly. It's lopsided and I wouldn't be surprised if the entire box was now on the floor, cones everywhere. Always been a fan of Jimmy Changas tex mex. I would faithfully order the sour cream chicken enchiladas and they never failed. My recent visit I decided to spice it up and thank goodness I did. I went with the Fajita Shrimp for 2. It was really good, I was very pleased with the size and amount of shrimp served. So good when you dress it up in the tortilla with guac, grilled onions and the veggies from the skillet. They had more than just onions and peppers on the skillet, I've never seen that before but it added to the goodness. Who doesn't love grilled zucchini, squash and carrots. Beyond worth the price. Great value. My girlfriend usually gets the Chicken Tortilla soup and it's extremely well made. Seasoned pretty well and plenty of toppings that make it worth the price. JC booths are great too. You can fit like 5-6 people in them which I love. Service is usually great! Only once or twice we've had a very long wait for drinks or food but I can't ONLY chalk that up to our server. I will say, anytime something is wrong or there's an issue, the management team is exceptional at making things right which I very much appreciate. Very clean and great music available.
