Sitting with unknown Barbers is like throwing dice. Have you ever walked out of a Barbershop without a cut? I did a few afternoons ago and for the first time in many years of varied haircuts. Recently, while in the Knob Hill area, I wandered into this Barber / Stylist shop and sat waiting for available hair cutter while petting a skittish barbershop dog. This was a busy storefront with hand-razors / clippers blaring. Shaving heads young and old. Easy to notice that neither working young barber used scissors or even had them in sight. BUZZZZ! A perfect place to exit with a good shaven military or prison appearance. Seems like a good business here for the many shaved heads in Albuquerque. But, perhaps some hair is better not shaved. I have suffered some pretty bad hair cuts as someone with fine blonde hair. But no great tragedy, as head hair grows back. The problem is as you age head hair doesn't seem to grow back quite as fast. This makes Barber visits infrequent. The trick is to find someone who is talented and focused enough to not make mistakes soon revealed in the following days. When you do, stick with them as best as possible. Only true seasoned experts with a hand-razor /clippers can cut hair in a way to grow back decently. It always seems OK when you leave the shop, but a few days later imperfections often reveal themselves while combing or brushing. Bad haircuts generally linger until re-cut. Thought it was a good cut at first but, now a week later my neighbor just said she liked my haircut and I agreed. Bingo! From the start, Cisco's demeanor instilled confidence that I would not to be later troubled by evidence of another shitty haircut. I've heard "Don't worry my friend" from hair cutters all around the globe often regretting sitting for them and wondering when they learned this ancient craft. It's not easy with certain challenges in getting it right every time. Cisco focused in an expert scissor cut as a barber extraordinaire and cleaned me up looking better than I had in many months. He is a cool cat, down to earth, and looks to be a 32 year old family man. He gave me a 10 visit punch card with his name and contact info on it. I'm afraid it will take me 10 yrs to use it. Great experience and great haircut! I stepped into Head Quarters Barber & Salon two days ago for a haircut, and I was very happy with the outcome. The staff is friendly and professional. The facility is easy to find, clean, and comfortable. Upon arrival, take note of the sign-in sheet. I didn't notice it, so I didn't sign-in. Luckily it wasn't busy, and I was obviously the "next in line". Angelo greeted me and graciously signed me in after a few minutes. I was his next customer. Angelo wend above and beyond to make me feel at-home. He welcomed me and introduced me to the owner, Cisco. He then took time to ask plenty of questions to understand exactly what I wanted. I didn't give him much to go off, explaining that since I've had the same person cutting my hair for 1-2 years, that I didn't really remember measurements, terms, clipper lengths, etc. He was patient and accommodating. He took his time while asking for feedback throughout the process. What I really liked about this place is that both guys seemed to love what they do. I've been to many barber shops in my 37 years, and over the past decade I've been less and less inclined to go to an actual barber shop based on the attitude of the barbers and the lack of cleanliness in the shop. When I was a kid I remember my barber had a lot of pride in what he did. Then over the years, the next generation seemed to lose that sense of pride. I'm happy to say that I finally found that again here at Head Quarters. These guys care about what they do and how you feel about the final results. It's refreshing. Change is not easy for me, but I am glad that I took a chance on a new place and a new barber. My wife and I both love my haircut. I'll be back. read more

I was visiting my parents from Sam Francisco when I stumbled upon this hidden gem. I wasn't going to have my hair cut but after reading some of the reviews I decided to get my son's and my hair cut. Upon entering this establishment, I was warmly greeted by Angelo, with no wait he took me right in and gave me my options. He took the time to speak with me and analyze my cut. I ended up getting my cut done with Cisco. He did my son's cut as well. What an amazing job he did. Cisco was very particular and knew what I wanted with very little said. Angelo had great skills as well, he was cutting another gentleman's hair and did an amazing job too. They were very accommodating. If I could give an extra star for family atmosphere, I would. Cisco and Angelo knew everyone by name. It was very welcoming and they are very kid friendly. If you need a hair cut and are lucky enough to stop by this place, do it. I would highly recommend it. Finally found the one! Cisco took on the challenge of cutting my 2 year old sons hair. I had tried several barbers, Shear Madness, Kids Jungle cuts and was never able to have my son relax enough for them to cut it. Word of mouth, was to give Headquarters a try. When we walked in we were immediately welcomed. We signed in on the clipboard and had a seat. Cisco called up my son and I was thinking "here we go again" Cisco immediately focused on Matthias and was asking him what color gel he wanted for his hair, green for The Hulk or blue for Spiderman :) The conversation intrigued my son, that he forgot what he was even there for! Haircut accomplished! Cisco was so patient and never stopped talking to my son. Loved his haircut and the comb and the HULK green gel. My husband is now also a 2 weeker regular with Cisco. This place is awesome!!! It's a locally owned barber shop in a perfect location. Head Quarters has been my barbershop since I was told about them for over two and a half years, and I Love the cuts. I also take my teenage Son there as well. I get nice compliments with my cuts.Each one of these guys are very knowledgeable gentleman that know what they are doing with flying stars and give you 100% of your cut that you desired. Cisco, Angelo, and Greg are a group of great local guys to the area, they all make the experience of getting your haircut smooth and in a very welcoming salon. Great Barber Shop! My BF has been getting his hair cut by the owner and will not get it cut by anyone else! The owner/operator is very nice and helpful on what cut works best for his customers! I love the atmosphere, there are games and things for kids to do while their parent gets a haircut. He is really good with cutting kids hair as well, my nephew used to hate getting his hair cut but loves to get it done now! I also get my hair cut by Estevan, he is really great with women's hair and has a lot of experience and is very nice and helpful! Whenever I'm in Albuquerque, I HAVE to stop in to HEAD QUARTERS, And see Cisco and the guys, I travel from Colorado Springs, Colorado, and have Cisco give me a CUT, today I got a trim and a straightrazor shave, both AWESOME!
