Does not answer phone calls. Will not respond to voice mail. Does not respond to DMs on Instagram. Will intermittently respond to DMs on Facebook (?) All of this I have personally verified. In fact, it was at least moderately this way prior to COVID hitting in looking at my review from last year. October 2020 update: The driver's side headlight has failed or is failing. It works sporadically. I did not spend nearly $1,500 on this system for poor reliability. He tells me he will "make an exception" to correct the problem (when he chooses to respond to Facebook Messenger), but will not commit to a time or place to even look at it. Ridiculous. read more

I just wanted to give Luke and his business, NW Headlights, a shout out because he did a great job retrofitting my old 2004 Toyota 4 runner with a new projector HID kit. The reason I started looking at an upgrade to my current lighting was I found that when as I was driving at night it got more difficult to see. At first, I thought it might be a function of my age. Hmm 54. But, it also just seemed frustrating driving at night without adequate lights particularly when I found myself in the country. Luke most appropriately mentioned it was probably a bit of both. Ha Ha. So, I looked online and decided to take the plunge and visit in person at a local shops to see what my headlight options might be. The first place I went to (A business in Clackamas) was immediately a negative experience. When I walked into the place no one greeted me. I wandered into a backroom full of product before some gal said anything at all to me. I mentioned I wanted to speak with someone who could help explain products that would be appropriate to upgrade my headlights. She said she didn't know anything about that but she would go grab some guy that could help me. I waited and then some guy came out and he had a less than friendly demeanor. I told him about the information I was looking for and he just didn't seem interested in taking anytime to explain what products were available or options. I practically had to throw a pork chop to the ignorant wolf to get him to got outside in the parking lot to look at my rig. I asked him to show me an example of the product he was talking about because I had never seen a upgraded light kit, and that seemed like an inconvenience for him. I started thinking perhaps it was because I was a gal that maybe I just wasn't worth talking to? Hmm I thought I don't like the way I feel here. Before I left, he shoved a catalog at me and said take one of these. I mean I spent all of fifteen minutes in this business. I left thinking I will never set foot in their business again, I would never order anything from these fools or spend my hard earned money with this business. Frustrated by their crappy service, I got my trusty I Phone out in their parking lot and found NW Headlights. I walked into the NW Headlights shop on a Saturday, no appointment, music was blaring, things were moving and shaking inside the shop. I thought here we go again. Then, a cute little dog ran up to me to say hello. Next, a couple of humans asked if I were looking for some headlight work to be done on my rig? I said yes. One of them said, "let me get my friend Luke, he owns the place, he is a good guy, and you will be in good hands." Out from behind a monster truck he was working on appeared a ginger snap man, friendly, shook my hand, stopped what he was doing, and we started having a discussion about my headlights. He put his jacket on, he went outside with me to look at my vehicle, (probably making sure I was not riding a horse or something like that) and he gave the basics about how to improve my nighttime driving experience. I told him about the negative experience I just had thirty minutes before at the other shop in Clackamas, and he seemed disappointed as well that I was treated this way. Well, he invited me back into his office, we explored options, and I ended up scheduling an appointment a week later to have projector retrofit HIDs installed on my 4 runner, upgraded the interior lights, upgraded my fog lights, and back up lights. This, after I told Luke, was I was not spending any ridiculous amount of money on lights, especially in light of how the other shop just treated me. Those fools in Clackamas. So, let's just say the 4 runner is now equipped with some cool new lights. I drove it home in the dark last night, my partner was in the car in front of me said how awesome it was that my lights were not troublesome in the rear view mirror. My vision on low beams was outstanding!! Wow, I think I might feel more comfortable driving at night now. I feel way safer. What a difference. I want everyone to know how much in this day and age of shitty customer service how refreshing it is to find someone who is committed to quality work and great customer service like Luke. A rarity indeed. I will certainly tell others I have a chance to about NW Headlights. I brought my 2011 Mercedes C63 to Luke to retrofit a Morimoto D2S on the current headlights. The space to fit the Morimoto projector was too tight but he got it to work! The job was clean. He would improve on the current design if there are any flaws or things to be done. The brightness at night is perfect. Because the job was really good, I brought my other car and did the same job. Surprised to see so many good reviews on here. Right headlight was going out, took it in to get fixed. They replaced headlight. Replaced headlight still went out. Made an appointment to have the headlight they replaced replaced. Explained it could be a problem with my vehicle. Went in to my appointment on time. Owner was not there and employees had no knowledge of my appointment. Owner refused to honor 60 for 99$ Yelp deal I had purchased. Employee said I didn't buy the headlight there and called me a liar. Reluctantly gave me the value of headlight off my bill. My headlight still doesn't work. I have an appointment today at 1 pm. Maybe one day I will have working headlights. Employees and owner both show patterns of rudeness and disconcert towards me. Edit: met up with Luke and he explained the miscommunication. Turns out it was just a bad plug. He fixed the problem but it is unfortunate that it took three visits for such a simple fix. read more

My hid lights were slowly failing so I called in to pick up an HID kit but they said they were out of stock. Then, Apparently, one of their scheduled appointments flaked out on them, and so the kit they were going to install was now available. Last one left. ( they had been selling like crazy for the past few weeks ). I purchased the last kit, and then the owner came and helped me swap it out for my POS DDM TUNING HID KIT. My headlights are brighter now, and the light is sharper. The ballasts we're mounted into the top upper frame of the engine compartment so they don't obstruct anything. I'm going back there for my HID fogs, -friendly people. read more

First off, Luke's shop is the only LEGIT retrofitting shop in all of Oregon and his shop is arguably the best in the PNW. The quality of craftsmanship speaks for itself, it was flawless. The time frame of the job was fast (i.e., thought it would have taken too long to complete). The price of the job was 100% reasonable and they went out of the way to fix some other concerns of mine as well. I had previous HID work done on two other vehicles at "the other shop". I was disappointed in the customer service and the quality of the installation. This was not an issue here - what a difference. Luke and his shop were totally focused on delivering great customer service. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about their products and services. The crew looked like they love what they do and took pride in delivering a perfect product. My truck was a really difficult retrofit - the computer gave them lots of challenges as it tried to reject the installation by issuing warnings etc... It didn't stop these guys for a minute. They knew the proper procedures and techniques to make the lights function properly. My family's safety depends on their installation expertise; they have earned our trust. From Phase One of deciding how to spruce up or completely redesign a new or existing headlight, Luke (the owner) is a wealth of information and ideas. But wait, there's more! Luke's skills do not just stop at ideas, because when Phase Two arrives, be prepared for some major jaw droppage. Execution is flawless and the wiring is tidy and organized. My own set had all the drivers tucked INTO the housing itself; pop my engine bay and there's no rat's nest or any non OEM wiring to see. Pop off the bumper and you can see little neat wiring bundles that tuck out of sight and out of mind. Phase three- bring the diapers. You will shit yourself when you see the final product in action. Luke will joke about it, give you a fair warning, and you'll be all yeah yeah, whatever. But then... you show up, and it's like holy F, is this MY car?! first of all, wanted to mention that they have moved to oregon city - but don't let that sway you at all from taking the drive to there to get your headlights fixed or improved upon. i have a 2007 civic that i felt like every evening, especially in the rain, it was a roll of the dice as to whether i would make it home safely...the headlights were that bad. as i had looked at the plastic covering on it i knew it wasn't faded, but didn't realize that those bulbs dim over time (i guess much like people...ha ha) so really thought it was my imagination. i also was concerned about having headlights that would potentially result in getting pulled over and getting a ticket as, especially if they are too bright or aren't aimed the right way, this can happen. anyway, from the time i made the phone call until the time i left the shop i was nothing but impressed. i wasn't instantly upsold on something - i was given a range of options and a range of prices and we discussed the pros and cons. while i am sure that luke and his team were amused by me getting new headlights when my front bumper was pretty much attached to the car with duct tape, he made a point to attach my bumper more reliably so that i could drive tape-free. :) the headlights - wow, what a difference. i feel like i can now see the road, am not blinding people, but most of all am driving safely. i will mention that i did some research on yelp before deciding to give them a call, and was a little worried about the negative reviews about a competitor, which made me decide it was worth the time to drive to oregon city. i'm very very glad i did as i found luke and his team to be incredibly conscientious, honest, and a true pleasure to work with. and don't even get me started on the shop dog (riley). thank you, guys! i now literally see the light. :) read more

The technician here works miracles. I bought new headlights for my Lexus, they were aftermarket with halos and HID low beams. I tried to wire them myself and it was a mess. The connectors wouldn't clip together on the halos so if I took a corner too sharp my halos would unclip. My low beams were on at all times, couldn't turn them off unless the car itself was off, but some mornings I'd start my car and I wouldn't have one of my low beams. But I loved the look of the headlights! So I drove for two week with duck tape, electrical tape, and zip ties holding my connectors together. When I got to Headlights Northwest everyone that worked there was really nice and up front about what they can do and how much it would cost. The tech kindly told me the HID kit I bought was crap (which is why I was having so many issues with it) and he'd replace it with something I'd be happy with. He took my headlights off and rewired them so then would function exactly how I wanted them to. He went above and beyond with what I thought was possible with my lights. Not only did he make it so that I wouldn't have to ever worry about something coming undone by replacing the connectors, but he also made it so I could turn off all of my lights, have the low beams/halos on or just have the halos on by themselves! Which is not how these headlights were designed. Originally I could have just the haloes and low beams on or id have the low beams and ugly yellow day running lights. So I was thrilled! Also if you peek behind my headlights the wiring looks professional and clean as hell. These people can make all your headlight dream come true. read more

I went back a month or so later to get a quote on fog light HID's, and decided to get them installed. Took the care in to get HID put into my car but it turned out that whoever previously owned the vehicle frayed the wiring and was wrought with corrosion. Took my 2013 Ford Explorer Sport to get some new headlights installed, as the factory Halogen were not very good. I wanted some LED lights, but the owner (I think, I am bad with names) told me that the LED would not work well in a Projector style housing such is on my vehicle. He said the HID were the best option. Got them installed, and also added some super bright LED fog lighs. WOW what a difference!! Looks awesome, very clean install, only took a couple of hours. He showed me some custom housings he was doing on a Toyota Truck. Coolest thing I have ever seen!! If you want quality install, high end parts, this is the place to go! Very accommodating right up front. Gave me several options with latest in style mods but also catered to my needs of great drivers lighting and my budget at the same time. Lighting is impeccable, clean and brilliantly done. The wiring looks factory and you can almost not tell what he installed or factory when it comes to the harness install. I found myself talking the longest way home last night just to enjoy my new found high visibility with my new custom headlights and LED custom mounted in bumper light bar on my 2017 Tundra! Look no further, don't waste your money on aftermarket headlight housings (I have literally spent thousands dollar on 4 sets of aftermarket projector housings) and other "Local HID shops" in town, Headlight NW is the one and only true headlight custom shop you are looking for. I hate myself that I didn't reach out to Luke at the first place. If there is a 10 Stars review on Google, I will give them 10 Stars simply because they deserve it! I came to Luke with a set of badly build custom retrofit projector headlights done by some guy on Instagram (who has been working on many builds for many different makes of car) The old builds have horrible painting job if you look closely, a way off projector alignment and rotation. Luke took them over and brought the life back to these headlights. Even beyond the ordinary headlight build, Luke and his crews were really think out of box by delivering me a truly one of kind headlights. Luke was incredibly patient demonstrating different kinds of LED, HID products they had in house, and showing me with pros and cons of each them and letting me chose based on what I have seen. HEY, money won't buy you with such kind of highly anticipated customer service anywhere else. The entire build process took about three weeks including parts turn-over and painting, and Luke keep calling me to keep me up-to-date regard to the build. They even helped me replaced the old worn out OEM fender liners and engine splash shield. YES, they did a body shop job for me. The result is truly amazing and definitely worth the waiting! Luke helped me build the light that has the simple, subtle OEM look. In addition, the ghost style fading away switchback LED strip accent and halo brought a sharp unique look during the day and completely shine on during the night! AMAZING! One headlight in my VW stopped working about 6 months ago, turns out it was the ballast which is VERY expensive to replace and the other ballast was likely soon to follow suit. Luke at Headlights NW recommended an HID kit that was cheaper than just one ballast and now my lights are brighter and sharper. Then last week another VW part went out and Luke got me in for an appointment and replaced the part in 20 minutes and everything is good as new. Very friendly and professional team. Was recommended this business by the company I originally purchased my halos from, and upon speaking with Luke we decided the best course of action to install anything was with his recommended product. He spoke with great enthusiasm and genuine passion for the job that I had no doubts in wanting to have my Challenger worked on by him. He added demon eyes to the halo install, and I am very happy with my decision to trust in him. We set up a date, paid a deposit and parted ways. I left my car with him longer than I needed to as I was out of the country. He was kind enough to keep the car well looked after and has the agreed upon work completed for my return. When I went to collect the car, he was as excited to demonstrate the product as I was to see it. The bill ended up being less than the quotes amount due to some modifications he was kind enough to do. Overall, the product, the communication and the service was superb. I shopped around for awhile in order to get the best bang for my buck for getting HIDs installed in my car. Luke was awesome and responded promptly to my calls and texts. There was a delay in getting some parts but that being around the holiday season it was understandable. The quality of the lights have been awesome thus far and in fact I waited a month to write this review to make sure that this would be a fair review. Once installed, the alignment wasn't quite right, but after I called them up, I had an appointment to get the issue corrected at no charge of course. I was looking to upgrade my current halogen lights to HID's. I looked here as well as another shop. I stopped in here back in December and they were getting ready to move to a new location and the first apt. they had was January 11th. As anxious as I was to have this done I contemplated going to the other shop, I decided to to take the apt. as these guys were very polite. As my apt date approached I reached out to confirm and get the new address. When I heard back I can tell they were possibly a little behind on the move and maybe were hoping for a few more days but they honored my apt. I am sure Luke of Headlights Northwest sells great products for people who drive their cars on sunny days, but for those of us that drive our vehicles in all weather conditions this is not the shop to go to. On December 3, 2016 I went in to Headlights Northwest, I explained to Luke that I wanted brighter headlights for my 1993 Jeep Cherokee which I use for off roading. My requirements for the lights were; street legal, brighter, and plug & play. Luke then sold me a "Dynamic Ultra output LED Headlight kit" and a "Glass H4 conversion housings" for a whopping total of $330. 28 days later on January 1st I am driving home in snow when my headlights begin to get dimmer to a point where I can no longer see. There was 1 inch of snow that was covering the front of them. Luke failed to mention to me that the $330 headlights he sold me do not work in snow! 6 days later on January 7, 2017, Headlights Northwest refused to allow me to return the $330 lights. Luke failed to tell me orally or in writing that he has a 14 day return policy. Luke refused to refund me my money claiming that the headlights were used and no longer worth any money. After almost an hour of debating with Luke, he finally refunded me a mere $150 dollars and replaced the LED bulbs with some used halogen bulbs - which turned out to be broken. Again Luke at Headlights Northwest has failed to provide me with headlights that satisfy my lighting requirements. read more

Luke and team are frakking awesome, let's start there. I have a 2012 Dodge Charger SE and I was about to take it to the "other guys" after digging around a bit on the Internet, I decided that was not such a hot idea and then I found headlights NW. They gave me straight talk instead of trying to upsell me over the phone, they talked to me about my options and asked what my budget was. I drove over there the next day and Luke and his team were super chill, but also very professional. I told them what I wanted to do and they were able to hook me up with some of the best hid headlights I have seen. Not only that, they did the install while I waited and took less than an hour. I was very pleased with the install, as it was very cleanly done. You cannot go wrong with these guys! Then i tried to buy LED fogs off of Amazon and after 3 tries of getting the wrong bulb,I went back to headlights NW and Luke and team treated me as if I was a friend. I wanted to do the install of the fogs myself and they set me up with again a super quality led kit. The unnamed HID kit I ordered ended up not coming with everything that was needed and at most any other shop, I would have been out of luck until I could order and receive the missing parts. Luke, without hesitation, explained the situation while reassuring me he could still fabricate the pieces needed to make it work. This man understands customer service. He explained a bit of the Headlights NW story when we met and it made me feel good about going to him to help me wrap up my HID/projector conversion. He started off mobile servicing dealerships, businesses, and individuals. When his demand rose, he decided to dedicate himself fully to the craft and convert his garage to a workshop. Today, he has a legitimate workshop and is the only dedicated headlight retrofit and upgrade shop (worth mentioning) in the PDX area. Try to rip you off. Took my car in to get estimate on blacking out my headlights. I just wanted the housing painted black and replace my amber with a clear one. I got there and got estimate from one of the employees. He said he does most the headlight customization. He said it would be $150-$250 depending on if the headlights were sealed with permaseal. Permaseal being the most expensive. Told the guy ok i'll come back next week because i had to order the clear ambers and take off my headlights. So i did some research on my headlights and found that my headlights weren't seal with permaseal. My part gets in and i take it to them one week later. I called them that i was on my way because i live almost an hour away. The receptionist said ok. Just come in and Luke should be here when i get there. I get there and No luke. I told her that my headlights were not permaseal and she said ok $200. I still wanted to talk to luke to make sure he painted it the way i wanted. She said luke is on his way. I waited 20 minutes and then she tells me luke is on the phone. I see couple guys walk into the office back and fourth . So there i am waiting another 30 minutes while luke was right infront of me and the receptionist didnt even say nothing. Finally after an hour of waiting she tells him that i'm waiting to talk to him. The whole time he was there. Luke looks at my headlights and says $400. I was like WTF. I just need the housing paint black.He say $200 to take apart the headlights and $200 to paint the bezel. Two freaken hundred to paint a bezel. It wasn't like these were fancy headlights. You guys qoute me 150-250 and all sudden it jump to $400. Took my shit and left. Thanks for wasting my time taking my headlights off while my car sits in the garage and wasting my time driving back and forth. read more
