I've barely begun to dip my toe into deep appreciation of physical music mediums, and accompanied my wife here on her birthday search for a few specific vinyls and CDs. My search was narrow, hoping for a Odesza vinyl. I found two vinyls from the A Moment Apart album I was in search for with one being a used copy in a deep sea foam color while the other was a clear vinyl. Because I knew nothing about vinyls, I went to the front desk where Kelly took the time to show me how; 1) properly remove vinyls from their sleeve, 2) the direction to clean vinyls using a microfiber cloth, 3) check downs to go through when inspecting a used vinyl, and 4) in why's behind inspecting vinyls the way she recommended. In taking the time to show me how to check 3 separate clearance vinyls, I felt even more stoked about my Odesza used vinyl find as it was fun colored vinyl not yet in our collection and in beautiful condition. It's located right across the street from the Metro B Line, so take the transit for super convenience! Walking in, there is security staff that's there that will do a bag check. They also do this when you're leaving the store. The store itself is a nice warehouse of everything you're looking for: music, movies, and merchandise like t-shirts, buttons, even some CD players (not top of the line, but they have them!). Everything is organized at this location - with lots of staff on the floor, restocking and organizing the racks. They have a good selection of everything, but also they don't have everything. I didn't find what I was looking for at my last visit, but it was still nice to browse through the store. They also seem to carry a lot of brand new CDs here. Amoeba's a cool shop if you've never been to one before. It's one of the remaining larger physical music shops left that have tons of music CDs, records, and other awesomeness.

As soon I walked in the owner said hello welcome, what type of music do you like? I replied a little bit of everything, he then replied what's that supposed to mean? He said give me an artist or genre I said ok do you have jazz or blues, he then replied saying he had over 2k records in just jazz alone.. I settled on asking if he had any Al Bowlly, he said yes I have Al Bowlly.. He walked down one of the aisles and called down the hallway to someone.. All of the sudden a frail old man came out, the owner said can you get down the Al Bowlly records, the old man sighs ok, the owner in return gave him a ladder, which the old man un folded and struggled to push it down the aisle, he climbed up to almost the top of the ladder looking through the albums un able to find any records, after struggling the owner comes over and said here let me help you!! The old man climbs back down the ladder and the owner pulls the ladder further down the aisle and says here this is where they are, the old man climbs back up to the top and finally finds the records and struggles to start pulling the records off the top shelf handing them to the owner.. I would say he took down maybe 20 or so records I found one I was looking for paid 25 bucks for it and was on my way.. The record by the way is in amazing condition almost new.. If you are looking for a specific record I definitely suggest coming here.. The owner is very knowledgeable.. I can see where he would come off rude, he wants people who know what they are looking for..

I walk in and it's such a cool vibe! This is a bookstore that carries all the Hollywood legends memoirs. I saw loads of books on people I admire that I have to come back and get when I finish the ones that ones that I just bought. The attendees were so nice and accommodating. The place felt very inviting and well lit. Although it's a small boutique type, it's still was very full with amazing content and a large variety. The prices are about the same as any other book store as well. I will definitely be back!

I was happy getting a freebie postcard and was able to enjoy taking photos inside of the space with the photozones on the walls. Some things that stood out to me was seeing that they're strict on no outside food or drinks, and when I looked at the food and snacks sold, it was mostly Korean ramen or some ice cups, so the vibes here are meant to be very casual convenience-store hangout type. I also saw that the huge floor space also holds dances so that's pretty cool!! I found an album I really wanted to buy and thought it was cool to find exclusive merch from the store branch too from K-pop groups, especially Ateez. It seems like the albums and merch sold are recent (releases from same year or previous year) and aren't oversupplied with past old albums/merch like other kpop stores. All in all, I wouldn't mind visiting here again!!
