I got the 60-minute massage today, and it was fantastic! I had a large muscle knot in my back, and the massage therapist did an amazing job working it out. She really focused on the area and was able to release a lot of the tension. Right now, my back feels much looser and more relaxed. We'll see how it feels tomorrow, but so far I'm very impressed! The facility is clean, peaceful, and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. I was also pleasantly surprised that I was able to get in right away without an appointment. The hot stones were a great touch and made the experience even more relaxing. Next time, I'll definitely book the 75-minute massage because I was just getting completely comfortable when the 60 minutes flew by! He asked about the services and the human at the front desk was disgustingly rude and condescending. We booked a couples massage in advance. Staff was friendly during our visit on a Saturday evening. The couples room had simple decor, with a vase of lovely flowers and even a sofa inside the space. It was slightly stuffy in there, but it wasn't problematic for me. And gentle music played in the background during our session. My masseuse definitely found and treated my knots and applied effective technique to help loosen up the tension in my muscles. And the pressure was STRONG, borderline painful, but I like that I got what I requested and paid for, the deepest deep tissue massage I've ever gotten. My husband recently received a massage here and said the massage itself was very good. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined at the end when a staff member stopped him before he left and told him his tip was too low. When he asked what an appropriate tip would be, he was told that he should leave more than $20, and even more if he thought the massage was good. He felt pressured and uncomfortable, as if he was being guilted into increasing the tip amount. An $85 one-hour massage plus a $35 tip is excessive, and no customer should be made to feel obligated or pressured to pay a specific tip amount. Tips are supposed to be voluntary and based on the customer's discretion and satisfaction, not demanded or suggested by staff. I've never experienced this at any other business or service establishment. Regardless of how good the service is, pressuring customers about tips is highly unprofessional and leaves a very negative impression. read more

I was looking through Yelp for a local massage place that did deep tissue massage because I was having sciatica issues and muscle tightness in my neck and shoulder area. I also scheduled directly through Yelp which made it convenient. Check in was quick, pay up front for your service, and slight discount for paying with cash. Onto to massage... my massages therapist, was professional, asking me what my issues were and what I wanted to focus on. Also checking in briefly, throughout the service, as to the pressure. A little warning, I'm use to deep tissue massage so there is some pain expected but parts around my sciatica were quite painful. She definitely got in there and worked the muscles, did some acupressure and used hot stones. A few times I had to really breathe through it. (she did check in at each of these times and I reassured her I was ok. I know there are kinks that need to be worked through) That being said, my sciatica was 90% better after leaving and gone the next day. So if you are looking for a "healing massage" I would recommend this place. No frills but good massage. The room was small but neat and clean. Bed and linens were comfortable. Their new location is really nice, modern, and clean. Parking is easy and the location is much quieter than before. Massage is still very strong and therapeutic. Booking an appointment is easy. Just call or text the number. The way payment works here is a standard house service fee (which varies based on length of session) and a mandatory tip (which is basically a therapist fee) paid to the therapist. Usually $20-$30 is standard for a 1 hour session depending on quality. (It's not a typical percent based tip. I recommend carrying some $20s and $5s in bills.) Oh yeah. They have a head spa station (where they blast your hair with water) and a RL machine for full body red light therapy. But they haven't officially started offering those services yet. But will save me a trip to Fremont. read more

My fiancé and I booked a couples massage and unfortunately I left very disappointed with the experience. I've visited this location a few times before and previously had a great massage, but unfortunately I couldn't remember the therapist's name that I liked. This visit started off poorly when about five minutes into my massage, my therapist was suddenly called outside. She was gone for several minutes, and I could hear conversation happening outside the room. It sounded like a man had arrived and she ended up leaving to service him instead. Shortly after, another therapist came in and apologized, saying they needed to switch therapists. The replacement therapist unfortunately was not a good fit for me. I requested medium pressure, but most of the massage felt like light rubbing with her forearm and very little actual pressure. I had to repeatedly ask for more pressure and for attention to certain problem areas, but it felt like she avoided doing real work on those spots and instead just rubbed around them. What frustrated me the most was that despite losing time due to the therapist switch, our massages still ended at the same time as scheduled. I expected that the time lost would be made up, but it was not. We still tipped both therapists because we try to be respectful, but there was no one available to speak with about our experience. My therapist spoke very limited English, and when my fiancé tried to mention that we should have received the lost time back, she simply responded "huh." It's disappointing to spend money on a service meant for relaxation and leave feeling frustrated and unhappy instead. I've had better experiences here before, which makes this one especially unfortunate. read more

I booked a 10 AM appointment for my sister and me, but when we arrived, they weren't ready for us. After waiting about 10 minutes, we were taken to a very outdated, dingy room that felt like it was at least 90 degrees. We were left there for another 20 minutes with no updates, which was frustrating. The room also had a strange odor, no calming music, (no music at all) and no aromatherapy--things I usually expect to help set a relaxing vibe. When the two massage therapists finally came in, they were polite and apologized for the wait, which I appreciated. They asked about our preferred massage style, and at first, it was going okay--not the best massage, but decent. However, about 10 minutes in, they seemed to get hot and opened the door without asking, which felt a little intrusive. They also kept leaving and coming back without explaining why, and at one point, it was just to grab the hot stones. It would have been nice to at least know what was happening instead of lying there feeling exposed and vulnerable. Another thing that stood out was that you pay ands top upfront for a service that felt pretty mediocre, and yet they don't even offer tea or water the whole time. I know we were their first appointment , but small touches like that go a long way in making a place feel welcoming. Overall, I won't be returning. I wanted to try a new place for a couples massage and after some searching on Yelp, I landed at Healing Massage. I called the day of to see if they had any availability for couples massages and they were very accomodating. I easily scheduled a slot for that evening. Upon arrival at the shop, there's tons of parking in the plaza. It's pretty central to Castro Valley so even if you get there a bit early like we did, you can walk around. We ended up going in early as well and they were able to help us still. The massage parlor is not fancy so don't expect a real aesthetic spa or anything. But if all you need is a good massage, they've got you covered. They do a deep tissue massage and can adjust to a pressure you're comfortable with. They also bring out hot stones as part of the massage. For 60 minutes, it was $75 and they recommend a $20 tip per hour. Not too bad for a solid massage! read more

I needed a last minute massage since my back and neck were killing me the past few days. I was able to call and ask if they can take walk-ins and I came within 20 minutes. At this establishment you have to pay before your service instead of after, and you tip after when you're done. There is a $5 discount if you pay in cash, I paid $110 before tips. I opted for the 90 minute massage with medium pressure. The medium pressure was harder than I'm used to, but I really needed it. I was a bit skeptical because my masseuse was doing a rough rub down with the sheets on in the beginning, but she was able to work out my knots once she started doing more detailed work. I felt a bit more exposed than what I'm normally comfortable with, and I probably should have said something. She did check with me periodically to see if the pressure was okay. There is a parking lot with sufficient spaces, however it is near a busy street so expect to hear cars and traffic noises during your massage. Unfortunately I got the room with the front window so it was noisier. I'll be back again when I need to get some of my knots worked out! read more
