So good! 2 skewers

Wonderful customer service! Amazing food and the store is so awesome and tucked in a good size strip mall. Love the place. First time to this strip mall, tried it and loved it!

Kabob Koobideh & Chicken Kabob w/ Basmati Rice

This is a gem being a hole in the wall place located inside of a plaza. Serving Mediterranean food, I was craving something tasty and healthy. I ended up ordering a combo plate with both chicken kabob and Koobideh. It came with a salad, rice, and grilled tomato. The meats were FANTASTIC! Both the chicken and koobideh were so flavorful and tender. I've had a lot of meat that is too dry or bland, but this is definitely not one of them. The service was very good. They definitely value customer service, as evidenced by checking in on me and offering me water. Due to being such a small establishment, it definitely helps to have good service and great food! I'm not in the area often, would definitely come back when back in the area.

I love this Persian kabob spot! They have the juiciest beef kabob plate with fluffy basmati rice. We grab a plate and enjoy the comfort of delicious and healthy food.

Chairs that should go outside

Located in a small shopping center. Parking is decent. Once inside the menu is either on a TV or laminated on the front counter. A bit confusing for a 1st timer. Also to-go containers and other stuff are stored on racks in the front of the Store, where usually you would find those things in a back storage room. Tables and chairs are stacked on the inside, but not allowed to sit outside. "For Take Out Only." Even though other food places have outdoor seating available. Not sure why they don't bring out the tables and chairs. Had to wait a bit fir the food. I ordered a chicken kabob with pita bread. I was Pleasantly surprised on how tasty the food. The chicken had great flavor and the Tzatziki sauce went well with the wrap. Had plenty of veggies stuffed inside and the pita was thin and not too thick.

This place feels very homey and the food felt like it was made with love. Very happy with my meal. I got a chicken kabob meal and everything was perfect!

The kebabs are decent but the stews aren't very good. Not much tomato sauce or stew and the quality of meat is sub par.

Not good food. Are here one time and taste is not good. I have had kabob several times at many places. I like this one the least.

I did however have a bit a negative experience, picked up lunch couple days ago and got a chicken kabob bowl and as I bit into it noticed the chicken was undercooked. Didn't have time to go back and share with staff.

Why did I come here?…read more With a hunger for mediterranean and the worry that nearby Aria may be a bit too pricey for a quick meal, I brought my son out to The Pita Guys for some gyro or shawarma. What we found were limited options, higher than expected prices, less than helpful staff, and not the best of food. Being my first time, I had questions about the menu. The young pair behind the counter didn't seem to know what they were serving, as they kept looking at one another for guidance with little ability to give me much relevant info on anything other than what types or protein they had. Once I finally ordered, they started to taking and filling the orders of people behind me. It wasn't until a much older woman came in from the back before my own dinner started being prepared. Seriously, it was a pretty weird setup. The food was served Subway style, where they go down the line asking what you wanted added to your wrap. Shawarma meat is minced, staying warm in a tub, and scooped to order by a spoon resting in a bin of cloudy water. Not only did it feel a bit gross, but it also seemed that the bulk of the juice in the meat came from that watery spoon, as the shawarma I ate was very dry. When it came to my son's Shawarma Plate, the menu stated that it came with two sides. What they don't tell you is that the only choices on the 'sides' menu open to you are Hummus and a Salad. The much more desired sides of Falafel, Baba Ghanoush, or even kid friendly Fries, were not offered. Needless to say, my son ate his chicken and rice, but wouldn't touch his hummus. So, a Shawarma Plate and a Shawarma wrap ... dinner for two, not a ton of food, neither of us were all that impressed ... and it cost us over $40. Needless to say, with how everything tasted and what it took to get ... we won't be coming back. For the price it cost us, I think we'll stick with the far superior Aria up the street. Or, at the very least, try the Kebab Shop down the block.

This is a "large" bowl for $17. Pretty sad considering you can buy an entire rotisserie chicken at any grocery store for like $6-10.

Parking was easy, although the shopping center itself is very busy. The restaurant was clean, bright, and open with plenty of seating (inside and outside). The staff was friendly, and the line moved fairly quickly. The setup reminded me of a Mediterranean version of Chipotle where you move down the line and customize your bowl. My favorite part was definitely the sauces and dips. The Crazy Feta was so good that I would honestly buy a jar of it if I could. I also liked having black lentils as an option since that's not something I've seen anywhere else. Overall, I thought the flavors were good, but there were a few things that missed the mark for me. The falafel had great flavor, but the texture was very doughy and not my favorite. The lamb meatballs were also on the dry side. I also found myself wishing they offered gyro meat. I'm glad I tried it and can see why it's popular. While I'm not rushing back, I'd definitely give it another chance and try some different menu items next time.

I've been a fan since 2016 when I was eating there on the east coast and to me it was my place before Jersey Mike's exploded. They seem to be faster on the online ordering when it's busy than when it's slow. It seems like it's a centrally located store, but it's actually tucked away and not as easy to get to as other nearby FF spots. Fresh vegetable toppings, clean and crisp meats and flavors they aren't as heavy on dressings and sauces as other chains and I actually like how they do a more firehouse toasted subs style rather than just meat on the flat top. Stick with their classics, the chain isn't as good as others when it comes to new or niche flavors. I really miss the days when the chain was open late night.

The restaurant is always clean, and there's a good amount of seating available, which is nice if you want to eat there. Had to dig through their website to find the company that processes the online orders and could only find a help line for ada accessible orders which the agent was able to help and confirmed they were listed as open; however, after processing the order they shut their online ordering down. The agent was able to cancel and refund my order but the whole thing was annoying. I've been coming here for over a decade. I almost got vetoed from going here simply because my SO questioned how good a place could be in a strip mall right next to a gas station with gas pumps 25ft from the door but I'm glad I pushed for it then. Back when it was only the owner running the kitchen & register and when it was slow we would talk about him working on his pilots license. He was super affable and I felt good supporting a local business. Over the years I've watched the staff come and go and the menu change (I thought Mediterranean & Mexican food on one menu was a neat twist) and saw less & less of the owner. I was glad the restaurant made it through the pandemic when so many didn't but unfortunately I guess as a way to keep the lights on the portion sizes continue to get smaller and smaller and the prices go up it seems every time I come back. This place went from being a bi-weekly splurge to a once in every few months. It's still good but everything that made me fall in love with it is gone, I no longer think of it as a gem of Escondido but like everything time moves on and things change, it was good while it lasted.
