The front office was warm and welcoming. Ella is knowledgeable, explained hearing loss without…read morerushing, and helped me find ideal hearing aids. My hearing improved significantly, and follow-up care was prompt. For compassionate, professional hearing care, this is the place!

In the hearing aid arena functioning 15 year old aids are not that common I'm told. So the problem is finding an outfit that has the ribbon cables to connect to the computer to make adjustments. The place prior to this had no idea what they were doing and finally after coming in a 2nd time figured it out. This time I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing and had the tools to do it. After calling multiple places in the bay area I finally found one who said they could do it. I questioned them repeatedly regarding this because I didn't want another waste of time like in the past. HearingLife delivered. Not only was the hearing test the most extensive I have ever had but the programming the aids was quick and efficient. Granted aids this old did require a call to Oticon which was resolved fast. After hooking them up the program makes the changes. I asked about other tweaks but at this point my hearing is so bad I'm at the end of what theses aids can do. I opted for the 1 year service plan which covers visits, cleanings, 12 month supply of batteries, domestic and wax guards. Since my bill was $370 for this visit it wasn't a huge leap to go for the service plan at $425. I thought about doing the 3 year plan but I really dont think these aids will serve me well after another year. I noticed some of the reviewers had issues with this place and believe those represent earlier individuals. Overall, the staff was great. Making an appointment from start to finish was via text, kids these days. In the room where aids are actually programed Ella had a full inventory of wires, domes, guards, etc at her disposal which was impressive given past experiences elsewhere where practitioners had little inventory and had no idea what they had or where it was. Overall, Ella did a great job on my test and programming and explaining my hearing issues and would recommend her to anyone.

I've been an RN for decades; I know what to expect from a medical provider. I have never had the slightest issue with any of his support staff. They have been responsive and professional as well. Patients need to take ownership and responsibility of how they address their providers. Respect is a two way street.

I tried to make a new-patient ENT appointment with Summit ENT Medical Associates after a bad cold…read moreleft me with ongoing smell issues and congestion. What followed was a master class in how broken medical access has become. First, I had to navigate a long phone tree with what felt like endless "if this, press that" options. When I finally reached a human being, I was told she couldn't help new patients and transferred me to a different department. Then I sat on hold for 25 minutes. When someone finally picked up, I was told I needed a referral -- despite my insurance indicating that no referral is required for specialists. Then I was told, somewhat confusingly, that I could go through a "self-referral clinic." So apparently I both needed a referral and didn't need a referral, depending on which sentence I was listening to. The person then took down all of my information, which took another 10 minutes. After all that, the earliest nearby appointment more than a month away. At that point, I hung up. To be clear: I can't comment on the quality of the doctors, because I never got anywhere near one. This review is about the new-patient access experience, which was slow, confusing, bureaucratic, and deeply frustrating. When someone is dealing with a health issue and trying to get specialist care, the process should not feel like a hazing ritual conducted by voicemail menus and hold music. Maybe the doctors are great. I have no idea. But the front-end experience made it extremely difficult to become a patient in the first place.

When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted warmly, and I doubt I waited more than a few minutes to be taken into the exam room. From there my history and questions were answered, followed by comprehensive hearing testing, and I truly appreciate having the tests explained as they were administered. Results of those tests were also clearly and specifically presented to me, along with the options I had going forward, Needless to say, I was impressed. I left hearing so much better than when I first arrived, and I will definitely be back when the need arises. Thank you, Walnut Creek Audiology, for a first rate experience, and thank you, Yelp, for steering me in their direction.

When he arrived, they got his ears cleaned out (he said he could hear in 3D when that was done) and did the molds to the specifications of the earplug company.
