Some hearing loss is to be expected since he's in his 80s, but we also had to make sure there was nothing physically wrong with his ears. After contacting several other audiology facilities first because they were listed more prominently on Yelp, I finally found Vegas Valley Hearing, which was the only one to want to help me with verifying his Medicare supplemental insurance so his hearing exam would be covered in full. I had called a Medicare rep who told me that no doctor's referral is required for a routine hearing assessment, and Vegas Valley Hearing confirmed it (unlike the other places that kept insisting I get a referral from his primary care doctor before I could even schedule an appointment). The hearing exam involved a general inspection of the ear (inside and out) and then going into the soundproof booth for the actual testing of auditory function. After the exam, the results were explained to us and questions answered to our satisfaction. The testing revealed that my dad has abnormal hearing loss for his age, and he probably should get a hearing aid to improve his quality of life. I appreciated that there was no sales pressure or obligation when we were given information on hearing device costs/options and the followup phone call the next day to let us know that insurance would allow a significant discount if we decided to purchase any of the hearing aids. From start to finish, Vegas Valley Hearing impressed me with their helpfulness, knowledge, and professionalism. It's a small audiology clinic, but it's big on treating patients with exceptional, genuine care. I gladly recommend Vegas Valley Hearing to anyone who wants an extra-effort-for-your-ears hearing improvement assistance experience!

Very early on, she raised concern about a possible brain tumor, which caused me a significant amount of anxiety and stress while waiting for the MRI. After the MRI came back negative, I felt completely dismissed despite continuing symptoms including ear pain, fullness/clogging, vibration/fluttering sensations, and sound sensitivity that were affecting my daily life. Very little additional investigation or explanation was offered, and I was simply told to use Allegra-D and nasal spray despite not having allergy symptoms. These treatments did not help. What upset me most was the drastic change in attitude after the MRI was clear. I understand serious conditions need to be ruled out, but I did not feel heard, supported, or taken seriously afterward. Completely careless and guess what? MY EAR IS STILL MESSED UP A YEAR LATER !!!!!

Extremely poor referral handling and communication…read more My son was referred to this office twice, and both times the process was handled terribly. The first referral was essentially ignored, and I never received any follow-up. About a year later, my doctor sent another referral. I spoke with Carla and was told to allow 2-3 weeks for the referral to be processed, even though my doctor's office had already sent everything over. She then asked me to confirm our insurance information, which I did on August 18. Today is September 23, and after hearing absolutely nothing for over a month, I called them myself. Only then was I told that they do not accept our insurance. Even more frustrating, I was told that they apparently do not contact parents to let them know when insurance is not accepted. So had I not followed up myself, my child could have simply remained in limbo indefinitely. I then said I was willing to pay cash, only to be told they do not see children under 8 years old something that also could have been communicated from the beginning. This was not one small communication error. It was two separate referrals, repeated lack of follow-up, weeks of unnecessary waiting, and information that should have been provided immediately. When a child is being referred for hearing care, families should not have to repeatedly chase an office just to find out whether their child can even be seen. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that parents confirm everything themselves and think twice before relying on this office to manage a pediatric referral appropriately. Unfortunately, this experience also felt very typical of the level of care and communication I've grown to expect from healthcare in Las Vegas, and that is incredibly disappointing when it involves a child's hearing.

I am a single black mom, with a child who relies on my income. This was the main purpose I purchased from them as they believed in standing behind their product and supported me in not having any disruptions to provide for my child. This morning one of my units stopped working. They had me come in and said they would send it out to repair and to come back in an hour for a loner set. Once I left, they called me to say I was misinformed and that they no longer offer this service. Confirmed they never made patients aware but that the corporation HEARING LIFE purchased them and is enforcing this no matter the harm done to its patients. Is this the company you really want to get your hearing aids from? Someone who won't care what is currently happening in your life and what precious moment you could miss? They are business through and through and only care for your money. There are plenty of audiologist. I suggest going with one whom cares about your well being, not one that lies to get your hard earned money.
