[[HIGHLIGHT]]AUTHENTIC 1950's diner owned and operated by Sue and her lovely family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Grandpa is cooking! Grandson is waiting tables! Understand this IS A DINER - so diner food should be expected and for diner food it was really good. HUGE HUGE portions at unbelievably affordable prices!!! BEST crispy hash browns I have ever eaten! And the coffee was DELICIOUS!!!! CASH ONLY but the have an ATM!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Go for the sweet ambiance of a place from a simpler time that has remained charming for over 65 years!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Another good breakfast. Portions are excellent and the value really can't be beat. Where can you get breakfast for two with coffee and tea for under $40 with Tip! Service is always great and friendly, and you feel transported back in time, CASH ONLY. They have an ATM, but don't count on it.

I lived in the valley for more than 20 years and this is the first time i had this spot. food: i got the breakfast country fried steak and eggs with a side of pancakes on a very rainy morning. the value for this meal was less than 16 dollars in the city of los angeles. Great great value. service: a family seems to run the diner. there was a chef and two servers running the shop. Mom dad and seems to be their son. Love to support a local business. ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]renovation isn't much here but all the money goes to helping saving a couple bucks for the locals. That's a win there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] verdict: gotta check this place out if your a local.

First time here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love that they kept the old diner ascetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wanted pancakes and this place satisfied my craving. My partner ordered chicken& gravy and finished the whole plate. We will be back again. Cash only or venmo which is fine by me, I understand credit card fees for business are insane. Mom and pops like this are appreciated Thank You

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean spot with a really nice staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is good, just basic diner food and the prices are unbeatable. It was only $25 for two people to have breakfast. And they have lots of parking. Note Cash only!

3 pancakes, 2 eggs, & hash browns for $10 Insanely affordable prices in LA

Food was so amazing!! Really kind people working. Great breakfast/brunch spot and super affordable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute vibe inside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!

Chicken Fried Steak with brown gravy, Eggs sunny side up, Hash browns extra crispy, Sourdough toast, Coffee

This has been on my radar for a while and today was my opportunity to try... it did not disappoint at all. In fact, I really should have come here sooner. Their menu is purposely simple with the classics you'd expect from most coffee shop types, except no corned beef hash, a they don't do "specials". But, it's fine because they make up for that by serving up outstanding breakfasts. I had the chicken fried steak with the brown gravy, which was rich with depth of flavor. Sunny side up eggs came out on point and hash browns extra crispy as ordered. Bountiful portions on large 14" plates. The place is family owned and operated for 50 years.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]inside is a time capsule that will send you back to simpler times, before all the commotion of daily modern life.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Grab a seat at the counter and let the moments pass by while sipping bottomless coffee.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Initially went to check this place out because of the fun huge heart signage in front and found a lowkey, chill diner that I would happily go to again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kinda feels like a place apart from the busyness and noise of the modern world.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Has a decent parking lot for about 12 to 14 cars. Staff are nice and laidback and they know when to approach you for service and when to let you enjoy your food. Has all the usual options for drinks you'd want with coffee, OJ, soda, tea etc. We ordered breakfast plates: country fried steak with white gravy, eggs, hashbrowns and toast as well as the 3-2-1 combo of 3 pancakes, 2 eggs and 1 hashbrown as well as orange juice with a bill that ended up being around $25. Everything tasted real good and didn't feel rushed out/oily. Especially liked how crispy their hashbrowns were. If you have someone that is vegetarian, this diner has more options at a better price point than the usual Dennys/IHOP. Would go to again.

The food is diner flavored if u understand what I mean. The service is simple just eat and leave me alone vibe which is cool. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's quiet because not a lot of people know this gem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Come find out for yourself. I'm a simple guy so it's good for me.

CASH ONLY. As soon as they set the food down, I knew it was going to be a great meal based on the quality of the food and how great it looked. Heart's is a small diner located just west of Van Nuys in the heart of the valley. I would say it's the classic retro diner and has that classic LA look on the inside. They have a lot of different seating options, both booth and counter and a giant bustling kitchen. There is a parking lot with free parking attached with plenty of spaces. Also, our server was very polite and all the food items came out very quickly. They also did a great job with the drink refills and checking in on us often. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of diner classics. Based on a lot of other reviews, I wanted to try their Country Fried Steak, and I am very happy that I did so. The white gravy on top was truly delicious and obviously homemade, the steak itself was cooked perfectly, and not too crispy, and their homemade butter really was delicious and added to the flavors. I honestly enjoyed every bite and was impressed at the cost and quality. It is important to note that it is cash only but they do accept Zelle and also have a ATM inside. The valley is full of amazing diners and I would consider Heart's to be one of them. It's truly a great breakfast option and I would recommend to anyone. I drove up from West LA specifically for it and I'm happy that I did so.

The diner is very homey and gives a very vintage vibe. Also the pricing on the food is great not too expensive at all with I got a steak and eggs with potatoes for 12 dollars can't beat that at all. They also have lunch selections too. The lady at the breakfast bar, Susan, is very attentive and so sweet and it's so great to see a small business blossom. They have been here for 40 years and they are killing it highly recommend.

Ask the Community - Heart's Coffee Shop

    Are they finally open?

Yes! Back to business as usual.

What are their real hours here? They're not open when I try to come so we gave up during the beginning of the week

The recent heavy rains caused the roof to collapse. Hopefully the landlord will get things fixed and they can reopen again.

The environment was clean, laid back, and had nice subtle music. This is my first time here and I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and turon (banana brown sugar syrup). I was interested in the syrup since it is part of my culture (turon). The syrup had a very strong artificial banana flavor which wasn't that good, but I got used to the flavor as I drank it. I would not order the same syrup though. I tried my boyfriend's mocha latte and it was really good! Still not sure of this place but I'll come back another time to see if their other drinks are good. The place is pretty bare bones when it comes to decor, I'm talking only 1 small framed poster in the corner of the restaurant and the large shared wall has nothing on it. Food, I ordered the matcha pistachio latte. It came out quick, they have about 3 baristas working the coffee while they have one cashier. My drink looked great and tastes fantastic, I am a big fan of matcha and pistachio so this was nice. The drink is surprisingly THICK, so I have to take my time with it. It's very heavily matcha flavored with bits of crumbled pistachio on top of it. It's very good, however the only thing I'd have to warn about is that this drink, which is about the size of a Starbucks iced grande, cost $8.50. So it's a bit pricy for a standard drink, but it's the most expensive one on their menu (I believe). They have standard coffee, lattes, etc plus pastries that they can warm up as well.
