I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted this morning for breakfast decided on the three egg and corn beef combo got an English muffin - which came with it. I ordered my eggs poached. Found this place about four years ago, and I know it's been around way longer than I've even lived in the Valley. This is one of those true hole-in-the-wall spots that just never disappoint. At this point, I've had pretty much everything on the menu, and it's all fantastic. It's also getting harder and harder to find places with prices this reasonable when even the big chain restaurants seem expensive these days. If you're stopping by for breakfast, the breakfast burritos are a must. They're easily some of my favorites in the area. The food is usually out pretty quickly, although it can take a little longer when they're swamped. That's never really bothered me because it's a small spot, and the food is always worth the wait. It's has become my "ole reliable" whenever I'm trying to figure out breakfast or lunch. Good food, fair prices, and consistently great every time. I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

This is a very popular diner. What are the biggest reasons I love coming here is they make all the ingredients by hand? Everything is made fresh. They don't use a lot of processed food at all so you're getting real food when you come here. I absolutely love the breakfast burrito I ordered mine with sausage and bacon and the country potatoes on the side. Salsa is incredible and I absolutely love it but be careful if you're in a hurry and you come in and it's busy give them a little extra time because the fresh food that's being made for you takes a little bit of skill and they have that skill here read more

Zig's is one of those mom and pop places that only locals tend to know about! You drive past it and wouldn't really be tempted to stop by based on the exterior! Now my husband loves places like this so we stopped for breakfast here and if I recommend one thing it'll be their PANCAKES! They're fluffy, buttery and sweet at the same time!! We ordered a side of pancakes, a breakfast chorizo burrito, and chilli cheese fries. Again the pancakes were delicious, they fit every category of a good pancake! The breakfast burrito was good, it had a good proportion of egg, chorizo, beans and potatoes! The chorizo wasn't overly aromatic which is always a plus! Now the chilli cheese fries were ok, I did like that they offered grilled onions but the chilli was chilli beans that was heavy on the tomato flavor! Not something you typically see on chilli cheese fries! The service was good, the waitresses were nice, and checked up on us a few times! They do get busy which means sometimes things take a little longer than you'd like, but If I were in the area again I'd be back for the pancakes. read more

I have been eating at Zigs for years(probably close to 40 years) food has always been excellent, but why advertise that you close at 3 pm then when I walk in at 2:40 for a to go order you tell me you're already closed for the day. I get it I have worked in restaurants and understand wanting to go home but if you stop taking orders at a certain time then that should be your advertised closing time. read more

The only problem I have with this amazing little eatery, is its distance from my home. The food, the service, and even the parking are very good most of the time. They make a really good chiliquiles, though I do add chorizo to my scrambled eggs on mine, amazing. My wife had an omelette that filled the plate and looked perfect, our host had the Redneck Benedict which he enjoyed. I have eaten at Zigs for many years, as I live relatively close to them. I've never reviewed them before, and I would have given it 5 stars except for something that I saw the last time I went there. Before I get to that, here's my overall review: it is a diner - no more, no less. But it is a good diner and I happen to like diners. VERY intimate little spot and you know (usually) exactly what you will get there; good diner food and great and caring service from always sociable servers. They basically kill you with kindness. Here is what I saw the last time I visited. I posted a picture of the little diner so that on this particular occasion, you could see my point of view. I could not help but witness what happened. One of the wait staff (who I found out later was named "Precious") just strolled on over to that mirror, put her face very close to it and, as she looked at herself, began to... wait for it... pop her pimples - I kid you not! She was there, without exaggeration, for a good minute and a half, which, think about it, is quite a long time when you are doing something like that in public. I was in mid-chew, and I could not stop looking at her. It was hard to believe what my eyes were actually seeing. I am NOT trying to be mean here, but it was such an off-putting sight that I just had to write about it. Another mid-week breakfast date with my blushing bride. This time it was Zig's... a restaurant I think we may have visited in the far, far past. We thinks so but the memory is vague. So this was a good opportunity to check it out. The building is a bit old, but so is the business... which is a really great thing. Upon parking we were immediately put in good spirits by the Christmas window painting that is still up. Hilarious, but we love Santa so it was a fun start. Service is exceptional. The menu is breathtaking in the variety of offerings. The counter was occupied by a succession of men who seem to be regulars. The waitresses kew them al by name, and they knew all the waitresses by name. Some didn't even have to order; "the regular". One day I hope they will accept me into their breakfast club! We sat in a booth by the "Santa window". Breakfast delights included a vegetarian omelette, my blushing bride's regular, with hash brown potato and, for me, Polish sausage, eggs-over-easy, country potato and wheat toast. It was a lot of food but we ate it all. Very yummy. Next visit will have to be lunch or dinner. I haven't had a Bullet or Ton-On-A-Bun for decades... back when Mr. Zigman reigned over the Zig's restaurant in Woodland Hills. Pretty mediocre. Potatoes taste like they were boiled before put on griddle with no flavoring. Chicken fried steak was slopped in to go box, would have been better if they put sauce on side, it appeared my steak was also precut into to test if it was done? Had an hour to kill one morning so decided to try Zig's. I was craving old school biscuits & gravy, but the crepes look good too. With the help of the waitress I settled on the E-Bag (2eggs, 2 sausage, & 1biscuit w/ gravy) and 1 crepe. Everything was excellent and just the prefect amount. I like the classic old timey look and feel of the restaurant. The friendly staff and reasonable prices. If GI looking for a trendy, shiny spot, this isn't it. I love diners like this and I used to eat here when I was a kid and hope this place never closes! That being said, I'm writing this review from another restaurant because I'm so hungry after my experience here. I had 45 minutes to spare, so thought it would be neat to not just eat a Cliff Bar or drive-through in my car, so I stopped in. For a half hour I watched them crank out to-go orders that never got picked up and realizing a relaxing stop had now started to turn into the thing that was going to make me late to every single other thing I had to do today, I asked for my food to-go, so that I could... eat it in my car, staring at a clock. So, when I'm parked on the street ready to stuff my face with simple breakfast foods, I was crushed. I ordered the egg breakfast, over medium with hash browns, sausage and wheat toast. I could only tell the bread had been through a toaster because it was a little warm. They get a pass on the eggs because most people just have no idea what "over medium" means but still a bit under done for over easy. The hash browns were basically raw potatoes with some nearly-brown ones on the outside. At least the sausage comes to then pre-cooked, so had a few ounces of protein to get me to my next breakfast where I'll be trying to cancel all my plans for the rest of the day! read more

I have loved coming to Zigs ever since I first moved to the valley in 2015. The redneck benedict is a stroke of genius. However in the last couple years when i go there there is an older waitress there who has consistently messed up my order every time she waits on me. If i ask for something well done it isnt. If i order a plate of food as is it comes out missing something. She asks if you want substitutions that would never be asked elsewhere which ruined one meal for me. It only ever happens with this one terrible waitress. I just paid $13 for huevos rancheros that were an overeasy egg in some sort of soup. You cant be providing bad food and bad service while you're asking an extra dollar a plate. The CAMPO (cheese, avocado, mushrooms, peppers and onions) omelet was about $2 more than what is posted on their website, but $12.49-ish is super reasonable compared to a lot of other local breakfast spots. Have been driving passed this diner forever and finally checked it out this passed week !!! I was craving chicken fried steak and wasn't going to be happy till i fulfilled my craving !!! I ended up Very pleasantly surprised and also so impressed with the quality and large portions , the 2 waitresses couldn't have been friendlier and i was dining alone & they made me feel right @ home !!!
