Our server was wonderful, the outdoor seating was awesome and the food was absolutely incredible. My beverage of choice, I joked when the server asked if we wanted to start with coffee. I said I don't drink coffee but I would drink an espresso martini (hey, no judgment, I was on vacay) and that's how I started my day. Kati and I split our breakfast plates with each other so we got to try both the Avocado toast and whipped ricotta toast. The whipped ricotta so creamy, was perfect with the rosemary honey and fresh peaches and raspberries. It screamed summer and it's a must-get. The smashed Avo toast had sweet corn and tomato salsa, cilantro, some jalapeños, lime, and added a poached egg. It was the exact savory bites I needed that morning. I pretty much liked everything about Hearts. The food is great, the service is awesome, the coffee drinks are good, but the seating here is very tight. They have a small main dining area with two booths, a bar, and a few two tops in a snug corner. There's also an outdoor patio area in the back with some picnic table set up. This place is solid for a solo laptop work session or a small breakfast party hang. I ordered a iced latte and the Godmother breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was delicious! A super soft brioche with bacon, tomato jam, and chili infused eggs. I really enjoyed the chili addition to the egg; that little extra spice was awesome. My server, Melissa, who was amazing and by the way also from San Diego What what?!" Suggested adding some of their chimichurri sauce to the sando and, oh my, this was clutch and that sauce is drinkable! The iced latte was just ok and a little too heavy on the milk, but their menu has a handful of caffeinated and boozy drinks. What I do know is it's the perfect combination of the two breakfast hyper-fixations I oscillate between: yogurt & oatmeal. I used to frequent a cafe that served bircher muesli during my semester in London, and I hadn't seen it on a menu since being back home. For once I wasn't disappointed with the non-traditional option to pair ricotta and pineapples with butterscotch sauce on the pancakes. I was skeptical and now I can't wait to return and order this again. The eggs were amazingly flavorful too. Different from any other spot I've tried. The bacon side was to die for. The restaurant is fairly small with some outdoor seating. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, on a Sunday morning. I'd definitely return here. I tried the smashed avocado toast which was a unique twist on traditional avocado toast. It was topped with sweet corn and tomato salsa, red onions, jalapeños, cotjia, cilantro and lime (added egg). The bread tasted so fresh and the flavor combination worked so well together. It was good but it was also $17 ($14 plus $3 for the poached egg) which is a little unbelievable for avocado toast. Most items of their menu seemed super expensive for what it's worth. There are a few small tables but those are hard to come by during peak times. There are also some seats at the bar and two big community tables. It also looked like there were some outdoor seating on the patio but at the time of my visit it was too cold to sit outside. Parking is a nightmare. There is a small lot with a few spaces in front but the chances those are open are slim. I ended up parking at an empty lot down the street. Came here on a whim with some friends for Saturday brunch and I am so glad I did! Hearts is a local eatery tucked away in East Nashville. The place serves Australian food with a twist and I was eager to try it. The parking is a bit tight but there is street parking and a free lot across the street as well. The Godmother: What a delicious sandwich with flavors I would never expect together! The eggs were well seasoned and put in a soft brioche bun. The chili oil gave it just the right amount of kick and the tomato Jake on the bread cooled down my mouth during every bite. The mayo brought some creaminess into the dish and who doesn't love some bacon! This was honestly just the perfect breakfast sandwich. I got some hash browns on the side and asked for their hot sauce. Their hot sauce was incredible and homemade. If I could have, I would have taken the hot sauce bottle home- yum! From a food standpoint, I would rate Hearts a 5/5. However, from a service standpoint, they would get a 3/5 for the day. We only had to wait about 10 mins to get seated but once we were, it took them a while to get us menus and waters. They wouldn't let us put in our coffee orders for about 40 mins and our food took over an hour to arrive. The staff were apologetic for the delays, but it seemed like it was one thing after another. Since the food was so good, I would like to come here again and hope to have better service next time. read more

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hearts for a snack, and I must say, this place stole my heart! The unique drinks they offer are a true standout, making the overall experience nothing short of amazing. The first drink that blew me away was their Banana Cacao Smoothie. Oh, my taste buds rejoiced with every sip! It was hands down the best banana cacao smoothie I've ever had. The blend of creamy banana and rich cacao was simply divine and they added protein powder too. I couldn't get enough of it, and I'm already craving to have it again. During my second visit, I decided to try something more adventurous, and that led me to the Beetroot Cacao Latte. This combination sounded intriguing, and it was undeniably unique. I have to commend Hearts for their creativity in crafting such innovative concoctions. I'm looking forward to trying their food during my next visit. One thousand percent: The best smoothie I've ever tasted came from Hearts. I'm not even kidding. They only have one smoothie on their menu, and really, they only need one smoothie, because this one is it. It's banana, almond butter, vanilla protein, honey, cacao and oat milk. It's perfect. Just so you know, it's almost a ten-spot for about 12 ounces of smoothie. But it's totally worth the money. If you have $10 and you want to drink something transcendental and pure, then this is a great use of $10. For $5 more, you can add coconut rum to your smoothie, which I almost did. I might next time. They have a lot of plants all around the restaurant here at Hearts -- the hanging kind that make you feel like you're in a jungle. I immediately loved this place as soon as I walked in because I love plants. The vibe is very welcoming and calming, and I just felt very relaxed, even as I was waiting for my drink to be made. A dude who was making coffee was singing with the music playing on the speaker. People were smiling at me as they walked by. It was a very nice scene. A person in my life who is very calming and relaxing recommended this place, and it all makes sense. I'll have to come back at some point to try some actual food, but for now I'm in love with Hearts' smoothie. read more

I couldn't get my coffee refilled I eventually had to get up and ask someone, and they didn't inform me before charging an extra $1.50 for a black drip coffee refill. Every other brunch place you can get a coffee refill for free. If you're going to nickel and dime me to death and take an automatic 20% gratuity you should at least let me know. The Eggs Benny at hearts is to die for I always get it with the heartbeet coffee which is surprisingly amazing :) the new patio is also really nice and though the food ticket times usually run up to 30 minutes or so because (I assume) their kitchen is so small but the staff are always ON IT with seating and running food considering how busy they always are! That being said, my only complaint is they do have a really weird to-go system that I don't understand. I've ordered online with them a few times and I always tip 25-30% online but lately they've been asking me to double tip when I arrive?? The first time it happened I told them nicely I already tipped online :) but they still asked me to fill it out??? I finally just noticed today that they're asking me not to just tip but to tip an EXTRA amount of between 2% and 7%. Which is very confusing especially since I've already tipped the amount I want to and they don't explain WHY they're asking me to tip again. Does the extra % go to BOH rather than FOH?? If so, can't management divide out the tip amongst staff rather than separate the tips? Does the tip online even go to the staff?? I tried a new spot in East Nashville for breakfast, a place I've visited many times throughout the years and is home to many excellent dining establishments. Hearts is one of those places that's small, cozy, with a chill vibe. Their menu is small with recognizable menu items but with a fancy twist. I for one was teetering on a burger despite it being a breakfast/brunch spot. I did ask my waitress about the Eggs Benny because that's one dish in my vast list of things I like that is an actual weakness. My waitress said hands down, the Eggs Benny because that's one of their signature dishes. With that recommendation, it was no contest. Hearts' drink menu is more extensive than their food menu and includes alcoholic spritzes, cocktails, wines, coffee, teas, juices, and sodas. as well. I wanted a Coke but they unfortunately were out (they only serve bottled sodas) so. I opted for tap water. The Eggs Benny was a surprise in a good way. I didn't read the menu closely and I didn't realize that instead of an English muffin, you actually got a potato hashbrown. Instead of a round slice of Canadian bacon, there was a huge half ham slice, fried with nicely charred spots. The eggs were poached perfectly with an ample serving of hollandaise sauce. Served with a side of arugula salad. The salad was very light, vinegar-y, and refreshing. I love the taste of arugula; fresh, tart, peppery. The Eggs Benny was that perfect combination of savory/salty ham, buttery/crispy potato cake, rich egg yolk, and creamy/buttery/lightly tangy sauce. I couldn't have asked for a better breakfast dish. I almost dare to say it was better than the traditional Eggs Benedict with an English muffin. I enjoyed Hearts but I am a bit apprehensive about the pricing though. Everything was a bit on the expensive side, more than I would normally pay for breakfast/brunch. Granted the menu has its own unique flair that you won't find anywhere else...
