Love the decor and vibe of this spot but when I stopped in last weekend the customer service and food service could really use some work. Went to order and the staff told me "you will have to wait about 20 minutes to order as we are too busy". It was just me and I was going to order a sandwich. I asked if I could just put my order in as I don't mind waiting, especially since they had live music. Other patrons were coming in the door at that time and there was no system in place for who arrived first and I knew my little self would get lost in the crowd. I was able to order and relax while I waited. But then since their isn't an ordering system the staff was so confused on who ordered what as food became available. How about a buzzer or number system for the tables. From observance, orders got messed up and some patrons accidentally accepted a menu item that was intended for someone else because of this. The first time I ordered through GrubHub they were out of one of the items and replaced it with something different. The second time I ordered through GrubHub they were out of an item so offered a refund. The third time I made an order for Pickup. The order was supposed to be ready between 9:55-10:05 so went in to pick up at 10 and they didn't even start the order yet. It took until 10:30 for the order to be complete. They were out of two of the items I ordered. I was very excited for a company like this to come to our area and I'm not so frustrated that I won't try one more time but at this point I can't recommend it to others. read more

I wanted to try this place, but unfortunately did not get the chance to. There was a couple sitting at a table and a man waiting on his food. I was THE ONLY PERSON standing in line. I waited 10 mins. I know I was seen but I was not even acknowledged. No "hi, I'll be with you shortly." Actually, not even a "hi." It was quite frustrating. After waiting 10 mins, I left. My girlfriend and I went with the Lavender Mate Latte and Raw Cacao, both of which taste amazing. We also tried the different kombuchas and settled on the blueberry lemon. I had a wonderful experience at Rootbound yesterday. The quaint setting has plenty of light and really gives you an earthy and organic feel. I previously had vmcome to meet with the owner Aaron about other business but didn't purchase anything. I'm glad I did yesterday because the green drink I chose was the perfect pick me up in the ladder part of the day. David, who made the drink seemed to know exactly what I needed. I love this place. The people are very friendly and welcoming. I tried their bliss bites and royal mango smoothie bowl. If I remember it correctly, I tried their bliss bites at a food festival at Forest Park. That was how I bookmarked this place. Today I tried their smoothie bowl and it was surprisingly good. The smoothie is not overly sweet. They make their own almond milk from scratch. There are tons of healthy options I want to try. I will come back very soon!!! read more

The food was alright--I got the mac n cheese and a matcha latte. I honestly really enjoyed the latte, but I'm not sure I could justify how much I paid for it considering it was only just slightly more special than your typical matcha. The mac was fine, but overall a bit bland and I really wish there was more of a kick of flavor. I would've given them three stars otherwise, but I wasn't loving the fact that their employees were unmasked during the heat of the pandemic (when I visited there hadn't been a vaccine yet rip). Just stopped by this location today, haven't seen it before. Was excited to see another plant based cafe in St. Charles. The owner was there and he was extremely friendly and happily told us how his business has been on Main Street for around 5 months now and all the menu items are made fresh for you upon ordering. The menu itself shows the locally found partners RootBound has to source its produce, etc. I got the Alfredo & broccoli with zucchini noodles which was super creamy and savory, the harmony green juice & also tried the chocolate cake they had displayed. Everything looked so delicious it was hard to choose, the menu items I ordered tasted really fresh and flavorful. Would highly recommend! read more

Whoever made this waffle and this butternut squash soup and the salad obviously cares a great deal about food quality, flavor, nutrition, and most of all delighting the people who eat the food. While we all have to stay far apart, this food makes me feel cared for. And I cannot comprehend how a waffle gets so deliciously chewy around the edges. Honestly we tried this place and the only thing we came to like was the grilled cheese and squash soup. Sw Quinoa bowl lacks texture maybe put beans in it. The waffles are like frisbees they are so dry. The morning glory was for one not warm at all and they other was burnt roasted. When I walked in the door the first time I just knew I would be frequenting this place anytime I was visiting from Colorado. You know when you walk in a place and you just think... this is my kinda place... my kinda peeps. This is it. Positive and warm vibes. Vegan/Vegetarian and GF (everything is GF). On my several visits I tried the GF Mac and Cheese, the black bean burger and the hummus platter (took this to mom's to share) and the Tika Masala, oh and the GF oatmeal with choice of wonderful toppings. The portions are generous and everything was so good and so pretty. Yep, food tastes better when it is pretty.
