I've tried several of Heather's pocket pies so far and everything has been very delicious! You can tell she pours her heart into her in-home bakery. Not only is everything exceptionally tasty but Heather herself is also very friendly and easy to talk to. I found myself having a great conversation with her in her neighborhood just getting to know her and her mission. Heather's kindness is amplified in her pocket pies sales mission: for every pocket pie sold, she donates $1 to two elementary schools in her area. How cool is that?! These particular hand pies were crispy on the outside, flecked with hard sugar and powdered sugar, and soft and chewy on the inside. I loved the flavor of the crust. The fact that it was shaped in the state of Minnesota was a cute added bonus. The location was super easy to find and there's plenty of free street parking in the neighborhood. I have so much to say about Heather's Pies it's going to be hard to get it all in this review. I have to blame my daughter for introducing me to this incredible "pie sensation lady" in the first place!! Now I'm addicted. It's obvious this is her passion because Heather puts so much love and creativity into each pie she makes. We enjoyed one of her "cranberry crumble" pies at Thanksgiving (gluten free of course). It was amazing. The perfect flaky crust and the best combo of ingredients inside. We managed to eat it all! I couldn't wait to attend Heather's "pop up pie by the slice day". I thought what a clever idea all in the comforts of her own home. I was the second customer that day and that was a good thing cause she sold out of pies in 2 hours! The best news was we got to sample 3 slices of pie (banana cream, key lime and strawberry rhubarb). They were all delicious but of course strawberry rhubarb will forever be my favorite. Heather just doesn't stop at Pie's she teaches classes too. My daughter and I recently attended a GF pie class. It was such a fun experience! Please understand that I write this review in the full Knowledge that more people will start buying Heather's pies, which will likely mean that it will be harder for me to get them! She is incredibly busy producing her absolutely amazing pies, but not too busy to talk to me about my sister. Ack! Missed the chance to review Heather's amazing pies on Pi day! I ordered pies for a themed baby shower and had some specific asks around decorations - she clearly puts in so much thought, care, and labor into each of her pies - they were absolutely beautiful. So pretty in fact that no one wanted to cut into the pies at the party - but once we did, the guests were all blown away by how delicious the pies are. She is a lovely person who went out of her way to bake the pies on the morning of the party, rather than on day she's typically available for pick up - nothing better than a warm pie to enjoy (made my car smell delicious too)! This was our first gathering with a group of people in 2 years, and her pies made that occasion for the guests and most importantly for the expecting couple absolutely special. Very disappointing. I never went back after my initial order. No amount of artistry will make up for the pie crust. The French silk was creamy and light. But it wasn't particularly sweet. The Triple Berry had cherries in it, which made it tart. In addition to the tartness, the Triple Berry felt under-sweetened too. If you want to have the prettiest pie at the party, this may be the place for you. For our first order ever here, (it is difficult to choose what pie to go with since her website is exquisite on presentation) we went with her award winning peach pie AND the Seasonal Fruit & Oatmeal Crisp Crumble and our fruit choice was apple. Heather recommends ice cream for this one and "anything crumble" We stopped @ Almsted's Fresh market to buy some vanilla bean gelato (support local businesses!) and we had bday candles for mom and she kept saying how delicious the peaches and apples were. The crumbles are absolutely worth the right amount of crunch a la mode style--I'm getting seconds here in a little bit! Organic ingredients, extremely fresh and she told us to NOT put pies in the fridge. There's a lot of care put into her pies and I got that from her website, to her friendly voice over the phone , to the curbside pickup fully masked (Yes--Heather delivers the pies right to your vehicle!) Then she was going to do it but her kitchen was being remodeled, which is fine i Said i can wait. I ordered one vegan and one non vegan but the vegan one she Said she couldnt do.
