My husband and I were pulling into Flagstaff after a long trip from Sacramento when our "check engine" light came on. Our car had started lurching while accelerating on the freeway for the past hour or so, and since this was only the second day of our vacation, we were worried that car trouble was going to be a real downer. Luckily, Triple A recommended Heath's Auto Service, and they saw us & ran some quick tests ASAP. Results showed we probably had spark plus & ignition coil issues, so Heath's referred us to a local rental car agency so that we wouldn't be stranded in Flagstaff without a car. We understood Heath's had other customers ahead of us, but they still had a full estimate report to give us within 24 hours. They did their best to be quick with repairs, and within 48 hours of bringing in our car, everything was fixed. Jeff & Jeffery were great with communication, were very open about what needed to be done, and saved our vacation! We highly recommend Heath's if you ever have car trouble in Flagstaff. read more

I don't recommend Heath's Auto service. They were rude and unaccommodating over the phone but my main complaint is they are in the business of taking advantage of vulnerable women. They quoted me nearly $4,000 to fix the power steering and temperature gauge. I'm a young struggling women working full-time and trying to put myself through nursing school. I declined the service and a friend was able to get it to Phoenix to a mechanic I trusted. He diagnosed the vehicle and found it was only a loose fitting. The power steering was fine and in the end I only paid $160 with the shop in phoenix. I am writing this review for all the women out there if you go to Heath's Auto Service they will take you to the cleaners and won't feel any remorse doing it. read more

What an amazing place. My daughter is a student at NAU, yesterday when she went to school her car broke down. Heath's Auto was able to get her car in ASAP, diagnose and repair all yesterday. She needed a new fuel pump, when she picked up her car the fuel pump was faulty (not do to anything the mechanics did), they took her car back in, gave her a ride to her apartment, offered to drive her to and from school today also. They ended up staying late and replacing the fuel pump and had it ready for her this morning before class. THEY MADE AN ABSOLUTE STRESSFUL SITUATION INTO AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Our jeep broke down around 4pm, had to wait for a tow, and had no option but to take AAA's advice on a nearby auto repair shop. We arrived an hour after closing and lucky for us there was 1 repairman leaving late. Jeff stayed to talk to us and hear our situation despite the time and workload they had (8 cars arriving that day). Jeff called and texted us first thing in the morning, ensuring us that the jeep would be fixed promptly so we could continue our trip to moab. Last week, I popped my tire and ended up cutting the breakline, messing up my alignment, as well as other things for that side. My car is a 2017, Jeffery called in getting parts and was helpful at explaining everything that had happened to my car. They made sure that nothing else was bent or broken from hitting a curb and made it safe to drive. They turned off all the warning lights in my car and made all the parts from Ford. They were helpful, informative, and extremely caring. Overall, I had no complaints and my car is back and running like I never hit the curb! read more

Probably the best customer service I've ever received at an auto shop. Got me in same day I called, loaned me a car to use while they figured out the problem, called and explained everything in detail, reasonable quote and final price was within $1.00 of quote. And when I picked up my car, it was washed and shiney and they left a gift for my daughter in the car (one of those solar dancing flower things, brand new in package, daughter loves it). I've been going to Heaths for 4 whole years now due to my unfortunate luck with my trucks and just about everyone there knows my name by now. Every visit to a mechanic is generally frowned upon but that's not the case here at Heath's. They have been the highest of quality service these past few years and they've made my truck problems an affordable, friendly and convenient experience every single time (ironic, huh?). Unfortunately, I had to make another visit today because the power steering had taken a snooze on me and decided to crap out even though this is the 4th pump I've replaced on this truck in 8 months. Jeff and Jefferey over at the shop really outdid themselves and ordered an upgraded component, installed it in a timely manner and further provided it FREE of charge because they personally felt I should not have to pay for this many power steering pumps that have been installed by them professionally, even though this was on the manufacturer and not the mechanic. They took the full initiative to keep me as a loyal customer for years to come by putting this component and installation on their own tab. This is why I continue to go to these guys, they're absolutely incomparable to most shops in this country. read more

Took my car to Heath's for radiator issues back in November 2017. Heath's took my car in that day and I got it fixed (running great) within a couple of days. Coming from a family who knows a thing or 2 about cars, I know for a fact for what was done to my car, I was up-charged quite a bit (after checking out the invoice). I asked them about it and they said it is because they used high end parts and coolant. 5 months later, I had issues with my radiator again. Heath's replaced my car's thermostat, however the mechanic we go to in Phoenix claimed that they put in a cheap/ low quality thermostat which is why it did not last. Heath's customer service was decent and they were very nice, however I don't think it is fair to up-charge customers for low quality parts. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. I own a similar business in another state, and had to help my sister find a garage to get her BMW back on the road after an untimely breakdown. After 7 calls to other shops in the area I knew these were the guys. Happy to report their communication, knowledge, and straight forward approach was exactly what we needed. A pleasure to work with, clear communication and great service. I recently took my BMW X3 into Heath's for service. The check engine light was on. As other BMW owners know, that could mean a great many potential issues. They ran a diagnostic on the car and clearly communicated back to me that they felt it may be related to changing the oil and an emissions issue. They changed the oil and test drove it to make certain the check engine light would not trigger again. Problem solved and car was cleaned and returned to me within the day. Jeff, the Service Manager, was great to work with and cannot say enough good things about the team and Heath's Auto Service. Stayed around after closing twice to make sure I picked up my vehicle. Performed thorough evaluations of my truck and discovered internal problems and areas of concern that were undetectable previously; gave me a detailed breakdown and estimation. They lost the trust of a loyal customer. I've been going to Heath's for the last couple years, but the last visit will be my last. I took my car in for a transmission fluid leak under the front bumper. They told me that I needed my radiator replaced and gave me a quote for almost $700. Given the price was about double what it had cost me to replace the radiator 6 months ago when I was on a road trip, I took my car elsewhere for a second estimate. It turns out that a fitting was loose, and the other place only charged me $4 for a fluid top-off. Was Heath's trying to scam me, or were they not competent enough to diagnose a simple problem? Either way, they will not get my business again. read more

Holy Cow talk about over priced! My daughter is a student at NAU and she was stuck in Flagstaff with a dead car. They charged us $193.00 to test and replace the battery plus one battery cable that they broke when they replaced the battery! Save your money and do a little price shopping before you stop here. The people were nice and they offer free shuttle service so they gave her a ride to their shop from campus but those "free" services are not free when they rake you over the coals for the prices! If we were closer or more familiar with the area we could have gotten a battery at Walmart for $70.00! read more

Heath's Auto is most likely the most honest and considerate mechanics I have been to. This is the second time I've had my car serviced there and the customer service is exceptional. They dropped me off at my home while they worked on my car all day and had it available for pick up after closing hours when I got off work. I brought them a quote estimate I got from University Auto, who told me they needed to order in the parts first, and when I went to Heath's they were able to service my vehicle that day for nearly $100 less. On the way to Albuquerque from Phoenix I had some car trouble east of Flagstaff. I stopped at two other service stations before I lucked out and found Heath's. Meagan was friendly and professional and got me to the shop when my smart phone failed me. Jeff explained the problem and was so patient with all my questions. This was on a Friday morning and there was a possibility they wouldn't be able to get the part in time to finish the repair that day, so it would have been sometime Monday until I could get my car back. That could have meant a hotel stay in Flagstaff or a huge hassle relying on friends to run me back and forth to Phoenix. Jeff patiently worked me through the possible scenarios, jumped on the part ordering, and they got me back on the road in the afternoon. As an out-of-towner, I really expected to be a lower priority than their local customers. But these guys work together and hustle so that everyone gets taken care of. I absolutely recommend them. Pulled in too far to a parking space and the lower cowl on my car broke loose. I was driving down interstate 40 and if I went over 60 miles per hour the cowl would start shaking. My GPS let me to Heath's auto service nearby. The mechanic crawled under my car on a rainy day, got my cowl secured again, and got me back on the road in 10 minutes. He wouldn't even accept any money! Good honest people, definitely give them a try. read more

Just moved to the area and when I called around for oil change prices, they were the cheapest - "$24 plus tax. " Ok great, so I take it in, they said they'll do a comprehensive look at everything since it's a new car (to them). Said "OK but it's just an oil change, how much will that be?" Again I got the "$24 plus tax" answer. When I go and pick it up I had to pay $55!!! The oil itself was $24, then the rest was "labor." To me that was purely deceitful. They claimed it was also for the inspection. Twice they told me a price, and it was a lie. How hard is simple honesty these days? read more

I can't recommend Heath highly enough. We broke down 30 miles from Flagstaff and AAA towed our car to Heath. Jeff diagnosed the car and because he was unsure of the codes the Outback was showing he called a large Subaru dealership in Phoenix to be sure. At that time he found out that, that same morning, there was an extended warranty extended on the transmission which was what the problem with our car was. He said that Subaru would fix it for free and documented the entire diagnosis in detail. We then towed the car to a flagstaff Subaru dealership and the dealership did not know about the extended warranty and questioned us about our source. After an hour or so they informed us that they had received the notice and the repair is covered for free. Huge Kudos to Jeff and Heath Auto for going way above and beyond for us. We just finished some hunting and when we started driving home the front wheel started making so much noise we new the bearings were going out. I called AAA for recommendation to closest service center. When we pulled in I told them the problem, he checked the area and said that a rock lodged between the brake and pads. He said the rock will fall out or grind down to nothing. So we left and the noise stopped and we drove a couple of hundred miles with no problems! The cost? No charge. The people were very nice, helpful and honest. Glad AAA recommended them. It could have ended up costing us $700+ dollars and we would not have known it was a rock. read more

I have used Heath's several times now for our auto repairs. It is tough to find a good quality, reliable, mechanic that you can trust. We first were recommended to Heath's by AAA when I had a break down. I was very satisfied with their service back then that when I had another break down a couple years later, I called Heath's right away. They are very knowledgeable and honest on their work. Now they aren't the cheapest place, but if you want to shop around to find a cheaper price, your going to get cheap work too. We have been more than satisfied with Heath's quality of work that we have taken a third trip for a new to us vehicle we purchased recently. They were able to fix the issue with a reasonable fix that worked out in our favor, so much so we were able to get 5 new tires all the way around. Did you know they sell tires too? We got a great deal and love the way the tires look and handle. We will gladly use them in the future when ever a need arises. Highly recommend Heath's.
