I can't say enough about New Era Heating and Cooling! This past Friday, I came home from work to find the thermostat reading 61 degrees and the weather prediction calling for record freezing temperatures all weekend. My husband reached out to New Era and reported the problem - it was after 5:00 pm and the woman he spoke to took his number and said she'd get back to him. We had little faith that we'd hear anything back, but were surprised to receive a call back within the half hour with the news that John would be over within the next 20 minutes. John was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond. Our furnace was beyond repair (It was 20+ years old), but he somehow got it to partially operate to get us through the weekend. He also assisted in getting our fireplace going so that we would have adequate heat. We made arrangements to purchase a new furnace (at a price that was considerably lower than what we had been quoted by T-Mark a few months earlier) and promised that he would be back first thing Monday morning. He wouldn't accept payment for the service call that night. On Sunday evening we received a phone call from Bev who was calling to check on us, and to confirm that John would be over at 9:00 am on Monday. We had about a foot of snow that fell overnight and my husband and boys were out shoveling at about 8:00 am when John arrived. Rather than leave and come back an hour later, or sit in his warm truck, he asked if they had an extra shovel and helped them clear the driveway! John got quickly to work removing our old furnace and installing the new one - he also replaced the humidifier filter and made sure that everything was operating correctly. While i pray that we won't have another heating issue anytime soon, I intend to contact New Era again in the spring to replace our AC unit. I would also wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone else with an HVAC need! read more

We called them Friday morning after our furnace stopped working Thursday night in feburuary. Came right out Friday ordered the part we needed and was there Monday morning at 9 am. It took longer than they expected but got it fixed and running! Same price as estimated, thank goodness it was fixable and not the whole furnace. The very fact that Jerry responded to my no-heat call within the hour, speaks for their service for the customers. It's what happened during the service that's forced me to take three stars away. Jerry did fix the furnace, but he also replaced the hot surface igniter that did not need replacing. It was clear that the igniter did not look very different than the new one even after 15 years. Jerry kept telling me about the rust on it and said that it'd potentially break soon. For that, I got charged $85/-. While leaving, he asked me if I am gonna celebrate Ramadan. I told him gently, that I am not Muslim, so I don't celebrate Ramadan. It's shame I am gonna have to call somebody else next time. From first conversation to install, John was super. Honest, informative, insightful. Walked you through the whole process, including rebates. Would have liked a tad better post-job cleanup but it's a quibble. Probably the only one. The system works great and replaced a 20-year-old unit with both a new AC and furnace. read more

My A/C went out just as the weather started warming up. Given that it was close the end of the day (around 5 PM) I wasn't too sure I'd get anyone to come the same day. Lucky for me I found New Era on Yelp and gave them a call. I was told that Jerry would be coming out to take a look the same day. A few hours later Jerry showed up, reviewed the issues, promptly mitigated the problem and my A/C was fully operational (turns out that there was a dead timer in the compressor/fan unit that needed to be disengaged to work with my digital thermostat). He was kind enough to take a look at some other potential work and made the whole process smooth and simple. I expect I'll be calling New Era for a few more jobs that I had on the back burner. Price of the work is what I would expect but the turn around time is what really makes them worth hiring. read more

New Era did a great job replacing my old air conditioner. I had quotes from several places and New Era had the best. Plus, they didn't try to hustle me to buy an over-the-top system that I didn't need which saved us thousands over other quotes. They made sure that the system we got was the right size for our house and worked with the existing furnace which is in great condition. They installed the new AC right the first time and I have made zero service calls since (installed June 2018). It works flawlessly and the house has never been so cold in the summer. A/C unit went down overnight, gave New Era a call just after 6:30am and John arrived just before 11am, I had no expectation of same day service so this was amazing! Their site indicates they are a 24-hour shop and taking my call at that hour was impressive to say the least. John was extremely thorough, took the time to explain the issue and resolved everything needed until full completion, it was greatly appreciated and I would recommend them to anyone in need of service. Cannot say enough good things about this company. AC stopped working and John came out within 5 hours of when I first called. Tried calling every several other companies but they were all backlogged. Even with their busy schedule they still came out. Very reasonably priced, professional and explained everything that was wrong and how they were repairing it. They are great for fixing small things that can cost some money. But in general if you want them to do a big job they may just keep delaying you for weeks/months. Eventually we used another company. read more

I had an issue with the hot water pressure in all faucets in the home. I figured it was an early sign of water heater failure. Made numerous calls for a "ballpark" new install..as my unit was just about 12 years in. I had a friend refer New Era. Brief call describing the symptom resulted in site visit to quickly confirm issue. Team arrived at promised 11AM time. I planned for a lengthy install - however they were done before The Price Is Right was over. The owner was very knowledgeable and professional. His assistant was polite and had a delightful sense of humor. The job was clean, the price very competitive - and the unit they installed is a better fit and overall performance is terrific. I highly recommend these guys. No nonsense ...fun guys. Did a great job. I'm looking to have them back for another project in the spring. read more

Called and scheduled an appointment for a quote on a new furnace and a/c unit to be installed. After coming out they said they would email me a quote in a few days. After over a week passed I called and asked where the quote was and I was told someone will call me right back. That was now 5 days ago and no email or call with that quote. Furnace stopped working on Monday. Called a few places that are all over TV - one put me on hold for 10 minutes, another couldn't get to my house until Tuesday. Called New Era - they answered the phone immediately and had someone out to my house within the hour. John was extremely professional and within a few minutes diagnosed the issue with my furnace (and also showed me exactly what was wrong). Unfortunately, the furnace needed major work. John gave me both repair and replacement options along with pricing. Ultimately, it made more sense to replace. John made some adjustments to keep the old furnace safely running for a couple more days, and by Thursday, they were back. John arrived in the morning ahead of schedule, and what was promised as a 7 hour job was done a just a little bit after noon. The installation was clean and pricing was extremely fair and reasonable considering the work that needed to be done, along with the new furnace itself. More than happy to have given New Era my business, and equally happy to be able to give a positive review for a job well done. read more
