The first fell off 2 days after the service. I do not live in nyc so I contacted the salon after my second nail fell off. I sent pictures to prove they fell off but was refused a refund. Went in to fix a broken nail and paid for a full new fill and broken nail. 2 nails broke off the next day. Would never recommend this salon Edit: Julia (the salon manager): I came in the night of February 5th. You are on the second floor of the building on Steinway, correct? Your salon is too unique to be confused for another. Avoiding accountability in all your negative reviews just to have them removed is a terrible business practice and just proves my point. I will add a photo of my nails to help jog your memory. I told your tech I was coming in to fix my nails so late because I was going on vacation the next day, which is why I couldn't come back to fix them. I also paid $100 WITH tip just to fix my original broken nail so why would I return again to pay so much for a terrible job? Your tech said you do hard gel all the time, but when I asked her to fix 2 nails that looked like they were lifting from underneath I was told "yes of course" just for her to leave the air under neath and not fix anything. I was also told that square nails would look better on me after years of having almond/oval. I said I didn't think so but was told it would. The nail tech who was in charge and speaking to me was Latina & the actual nail tech who did my nails never spoke a word to me as the other translated ri her. Not sure if that helps you remember. I wanted to treat myself to a relaxing spa pedicure, and saw Heavenly Nails recommended on the Astoria reddit group. I was the only one in the salon on a weeknight. The location is upstairs on Steinway street, and the salon is large, spacious and clean. I asked if they had time for a pedicure, they said yes. About half way into my service, they started packing things up, and asked if they could give me flip flops since they were closing. This was unfortunate since I had really, really wanted a relaxing pedicure experience. I had asked if they had time upfront, but now I felt rushed. The pedicure itself was enjoyable and the polish lasted a while, but I do wish they would've been upfront with me about their closing time and the fact that I wouldn't be able to dry. It was particularly cold that night so walking home in flip flops (though I do live nearby) wasn't ideal, plus I had wanted to dry to ensure I didn't mess them up. If I came back here I'd be sure to come earlier in the day. read more

lol I called first to see what was going on. I misheard the prices even after clarifying twice over the phone (which I found out after the service) due to a thick accent. That's fine. I chose a bottle that was $3 more since it was "the twisty bottle". I didn't know that- there was no sign nor did the lady tell me. I would've still picked it, but would've appreciated the transparency. The lady that did my regular pedicure had calls and kept stopping and texting. She was nice, though, just preoccupied. She nicked my toes 3-4 times with the nipper and it burned when she used acetone. When she filed my nails, she used a nail bit (the thing you put at the end of the nail filer) that wasn't clean and was even re-used after another customer had walked in. They were nice, though, and had Latin music playing. Would not come again. Would just go to the place next door. EDIT: ah so you DO remember me calling. Because when I tried to clarify that I spoke to your staff over the phone, they said that I never called- Even though they knew what I asked for the moment I walked in. I've been here 3/4 times and there seems to be only 1 good technician. The last time I went, the technician kept filing my nails even when I told her that it's not the gel anymore and she's filing my nails. She said that it's still the gel. Well... it started to hurt. And she just applied the gel over it. Even with the gel, my nails were very bendy and weak. The UV light hurt because my nails had lost most of their thickness. It's been over 3 months since then and my nails are still paper thin and extremely damaged. When the technician asked about the shape of my nails, I did ask her to fix it multiple times because she kept making it crooked. It felt like she did this to my nails on purpose because I asked her to fix the shape. It's extremely unprofessional and I wish I could fix my nails but anything I do now just causes more issues. Had a wonderful experience at this place today. Made an appointment for me and a friend for 3pm pedicure. They were ready and welcoming to greet and see us when we arrived- despite being 6 minutes late. Both nail techs did a great job and were super nice. They left our feet feeling relaxed and looking great. There was only one other person when we were there, and a few other people showed up as we were leaving. But didn't seem crowded at any point. Awesome nail salon! It's a clean, large space which was not crowded when I went in. There is plenty of seating for both manicures and pedicures. The pedicure station has massage chairs which is great. The woman who worked on my nails really took her time which I really appreciated - I feel that most people rush through the process. At the end, I was given a very nice and long complimentary massage - several minutes long, as opposed to the usual ~30 second massage you get. Pedicure is $20 which is standard for the area, if not a little cheaper. The only downfall was that it was quite warm due to the AC not being on/not working. Overall, really great place and I will definitely be coming back! read more
