I just had a very disappointing experience at the Methuen (Merrimack St) location. I first went to the drive thru where I waited for 5 minutes and was not greeted. I then went inside to order my coffee and found an employee talking about how she's done and wants to quit. She then meandered to the back of the counter where she asked for my order. I ordered a pumpkin spice iced coffee. Immediately after, she laughed. She then went on a rant. To who, I'm not sure. But it was quite a long- winded rant insulting my coffee of choice. She went on to complain about how it isn't even fall yet and all she is hearing is "pumpkin pumpkin pumpkin", and by the time October rolls around, everyone is going to be talking about Christmas. I have never had a coffee or food of choice insulted by an employee of the establishment selling it to me, right in front of me! What has happened to your customer service, Heav'nly? Needless to say I will not be returning to this location for some time, even though it is a stone's throw from my front door. read more

Always rude. Whenever they mess up and you mention it they make you feel like a jerk for even complaining. Usually only get coffee cause it's good coffee. They filled it 3 quarters of the way up. The egg sandwich was a mess. I payed with my debit and then another girl comes to the window and tries charging me again,when I say I've payed she asks me for a receipt instead of asking her co worker. HD reminds me of old school, mom and pop, from scratch coffee shop and it is wonderful to see the owner George Saragas, who is so sweet and has been a kind, caring neighbor in the Methuen community for over 35 years. The bagels, donuts and muffins are always fresh, the staff is friendly, and they work quickly to make sure they provide great service, and make your order the way you like it. The breakfast sandwiches are awesome, they use real eggs, ham and cheese and they cook it, not microwave it (like rubber). I love their egg bagels but they run out fast so you have to be there early, and the lattes and coffee rolls are fabulous. I am a picky coffee drinker and I know they serve New England Coffee which I do not like, but that is picky preference, their espresso drinks are great. I like that you can still sit and have coffee and conversation and not feel rushed (there is too much rushing everywhere) and the Heav'nly coffee shops are warm, welcoming havens from the frenetic chaos outside. I haven't reviewed anything in a while, but I'm going to start here because I read some ridiculous review someone wrote about this place. It's not about the coffee... some people will stand by their DD coffee, but I think Heav'nly coffee is just as good. It's definitely about the food... breakfast sandwiches, pastries, donuts, etc. - Heav'nly Donuts BLOWS DD AWAY - no contest! DD sandwiches taste like cardboard, rubber and chemicals! I've tried Heavenly multiple times over the years and I'm never satisfied with their coffee. I can't taste the beans or expresso. Even with just skim milk it ALWAYS tastes watered down. This is the best donut around!!! For those who remember Mike's Donut in Everett this is comparable... Coffee Rolls are awesome. For those in the Methuen area, alot of people go to Heav'nly for the donuts and then to Dunkin Donuts for the coffee. I think the coffee is decent as it's supplied by New England Coffee in Malden and supposedly a special blend just for Heav'nly Donuts. These donuts are always a hit when I bring it for work meetings, family get togethers, tailgating, etc. read more

They didn't have my favorite coffee ready one day a few weeks ago so I tried their pumpkin spice coffee. I loved it. A few days later I tried their pecan pie flavor. I thought it was good but it didn't taste as much of pecan pie as I thought it would. But I still liked it anyway. read more

I go here a few times every several months or so. I usually go on Saturday mornings, after my karate practice. Around this time, it tends to be super busy. During my visit yesterday, my sister and I both got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, which were delicious. We also each got a smoothie. Horrible customer service!! I went in one morning for a sandwich, they got the order wrong. I went back to complain because not only was the order wrong, the ham in the sandwhich looked like dog meat. They gave me a bullshit excuse about ham looking that way when heated in the microwave. I said I was all set with the sandwhich and asked for my money back. The manager proceeded to argue with me until finally she gave me my money back. I have ALWAYS been a fan of Heav'nly Donuts especially this location! They always have the freshest donuts and the coffee has been deliciously made to order each time ~ accurately. So in that regard I would have graded them as 5 Stars! However, I am shocked and sad to say that I don't feel comfortable buying their donuts again after witnessing how they transport the donuts to the other locations. My friend and I saw a man pull up outside with his own personal car, place a sheet/rack of donuts on the back of his car with no plastic wrapping or protective covering at all. The donuts were exposed to the air and outdoor, as well as to his shirt and bare arms as he managed to catch them in time from falling from the trunk door while he was attempting to open it with the donuts on top. We were even more alarmed when we saw him continue to open the trunk and place the uncovered donuts into his trunk!!! Isn't a trunk where people put dirty things like tires, oil, trash if you go to a dump, etc. etc.??? We know from catering, that you can't transport food like that and this is for Retail! I wish I caught which location(s) they were going to drive these to but in the big picture...it really doesn't matter. I road trip was required in the search for the very best donut. Heavenly donuts are, well, heavenly. The chocolate donut with coconut was perfection. All of their donuts are oversized and delicious. I have coffee the first time I visited here and it didn't suit my tastes. The next time of opted for the local organic chocolate milk that they stock in their drink cooler, that was the perfect compliment to their donuts.
