Maybe it's my misunderstanding, but my idea of butternut is the small crunchy yellow "crumbs" like at Dunkin - should be called a coconut donut? (but I guess it's different at each donut place.) I apologize for comparing this place to DD! All tolled, I'd give it a 4 (if I could it'd be a 4.5) and would like to try other items in the future.

We decided to accept them as opposed to sending them back again, and the taste was off, with a slight sour hint. I mentioned this to the owner/chef who checked on us and he was surprised and told us he would check the sauce. We never saw or heard from him again. The corned beef hash was shredded corned beef mixed with hash brown potatoes, with the potatoes dominating. It lacked flavor. One of my eggs was over cooked, with a hard yolk. The accompanying homefries were nice, maybe the highlight of the meal. On the plus side, our server, who told us up front she was new, was very good. We may give it another try as maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen.

They're pretty expensive at $3.50 a donut, with some costing a bit more, but if you order half a dozen or a full dozen, you get them for cheaper. I also recommend going there within the first hour of them opening, because it seems they can sell out of donuts pretty fast. The second time I went an hour after opening, they were already sold out of the vanilla cream donuts and tiger tails. It's not the biggest place, but they still have some tables for people looking to eat there.

I ordered a hot, house blend coffee with milk, so easy and quick. They also offer a dark roast if that's your preference. The coffee was a bit bitter, but not too much (as compared to another recent take away coffee I had) so that's a win with a nice amount of milk. The drive-thru lane took a couple of minutes. Nothing crazy. As the order and pick-up windows are only a car length apart, the order is made just before you receive it, so if someone has a large order, the line would move a little bit slower. It wasn't a busy time of the day and we were only the 4th car in line so it was a pretty quick visit. If we find ourselves in need of caffeine while in the area, I would try this Aroma Joe's again.
