My cat Latte had the most amazing experience with Hebron Cat Hospital. Her first visit was for labs and vaccines. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Her latest visit was a week ago. She had her spay surgery. Dr.Whissen is a rock star! Apparently Latte's ovaries were super small and very difficult to find, but Dr. Whissen did not give up until she located it. After care instructions were easy to follow. The hospital also called a few days later to make sure Latte was doing okay. Latte is now fully recovered and back to her spunky self! read more

Dr Wolff and the entire staff are worth the visit for all your feline concerns. Their number one priority is safety and well being of your pets, they provide a quality of care that is so hard to find these days. Dr. Whissen and her staff are incredibly kind and can be very helpful. They have done a great job with covid protocols and are very responsive most of the time to email and phone calls. However, we did not have a great experience over the course of the year we have spent with this cat hospital. Our cat had been to a vet previously who was very casual about his chronic issues. We came to Dr. Whissen since she specializes in cats hoping to get a more engaged and informative diagnosis. While initially that seemed to be where things were going, that level of engagement with his case dropped off pretty quickly. As his issues continued and even worsened we were told to keep giving him steroids and gabapentin and we were also told, by Dr. Whissen that she simply didn't know what was going on with some of his various issues. While that was the primary problem, not having a diagnosis for the entirety of our time working with this vet, the secondary problem was that as he gained additional symptoms (weight loss, hair and skin changes) it was apparent that something else was wrong. No additional tests were ordered to address these issues even after I pointed them out. After finally being referred to another vet to do more extensive testing, one of the simple initial tests revealed that he is now diabetic, explaining his new symptoms that were ignored by this vet. In sum, I completely get when a patient's issues tip over into being outside the experience of the practitioner, but it is unacceptable to let those issues that you cannot explain or diagnose, linger for a year until getting our kitty the help he actually needs. It is also unacceptable to be introduced to new symptoms and do no additional testing. He lost 4 lbs under her care (a third of his weight, a lot for a cat) and no additional testing was done to try to get to the bottom of this new and very common issue (diabetes.) We're working with another vet to get to the bottom of his more complex issues, but I will not be returning to this vet after the huge miss of not engaging with his new symptoms or helping with long term treatment plans. read more

I had higher hopes for this hospital. We chose it specifically because we were looking for cat experts, but we didn't find that in their weekend vet. (Apparently she isn't the full time vet, but they must be okay having her represent them) We were seeking advice about our cat who inappropriately urinates outside the box, which granted is a tricky issue. The vet's advice? Live with it- that's what she does!! She talked for 10 minutes about how her cat has destroyed her house and she's okay with it so...we should be too? Seriously? She also made her opinion of medication very clear. She kept referring to "mind-altering drugs" being a last resort, even though previous vets have suggested it. It's like she was trying to make us feel guilty for even considering the option. Her other advice was to let our cat go outside (not that he's shown interest in that or would possibly survive). I was SHOCKED. How outdated is your education if you're telling me to let my house cat wander around outside? There are numerous studies showing not only is it dangerous for the cat and almost certain to shorten their lifespan, it is also detrimental to wildlife. The real kicker? Going outside hasn't even helped HER cat stop peeing inside, so why recommend it for my cat when it clearly does nothing to solve the problem?? The staff, while friendly, needs to work on professionalism and communication. A tech pulled the vet out of our appointment to give discharge instructions to another client. As someone who has worked in multiple animal hospitals over the years, I know vets should only be pulled for emergencies. Anyone wanting to talk to the vet needs to wait until he/she leaves the appt room. We also stood at the counter waiting for our rabies tag for several minutes because the receptionist and tech didn't clearly communicate with each other. They also completely forgot to do our cats vaccines until after we had already paid and checked out, so they had to remove our cat from his carrier again, take him back into the room for the shots, adding unnecessary stress, and then have us make a second payment. This place has a lot to improve unfortunately. read more

Dr. Dee and her entire staff were amazing to work with, we had to bring one of our cats in for GI issues and she needed several extractions, so it was a really pricey procedure. Dr Deanne Whissen and her team are wonderful. We relo'd here and Stitch, 14 years old, ended up with a number of issues that we had never experienced previously. After our move, she was highly allergic - she was pulling her hair out, her face was bloody and her skin was raw. She was miserable. With Dr. Dee's care, Stitch was soon back to normal within a couple of months. Fast forward to Covid...we had to return to our home state to take care of family - she started losing weight and was hungry all the time. Her vet back home diagnosed hyper-thyrodism. We were applying medication to Stitch's ear twice daily because we struggled with pilling her. When we returned to Texas, we took her into see Dr. Dee again and they recommended a product to help her "ingest" the pills. She takes her hyper-thyroid pill once a day and loves it. It has been stress-free ever since. Dr. Dee and her staff are very caring, responsive, and professional. I would highly recommend taking your cat here if you are looking for a good Vet for your cat. I actually drive from Noth Dallas to take mine here. Dr. Durham is very caring, friendly and extremely knowledgable about feline care. I do believe that she saved my cat from certain death. Before taking my cat to Dr. Durham, I had been taking my cat to another vet who had misdiagnosed my cats illness repeatedly. She figured out what was going on, called me on a Sunday to bring him in since his condition was dire, and nursed him back to health. Now my cat is happy and healthy. The office is very nice as well. It has a very relaxed environment since it is not full of other animals. I also board my cat there when I go on vacation and the boarding facilities are excellent. They have special kitty luxury suites with different vacation themes where cats have tons of room to play. If the luxury suites are out of your price range , then they have the kitty studio apartments. Each one has either a window or a fake fish tank to entertain your cat and they have an upper sleeping level and a lower level for the litter box. Thanks Dr. Durham and staff. My 15 yr old kitty started having 'issues' (foaming mouth, vomit, need I say more?). After making the call to Hebron Cat Hospital, I was offered an appt right away. Julie (assistant) and Dr. Whissen quickly got us into the exam room, took extra care to make my old babe comfortable. Yup, it was nothing but a tooth infection gone bad! Knowing this, I did feel better... And so does my old babe kitty! Absolutely atrocious! I have seen this place for years, but had never gone there because I have several cats, and presumed the pricing would be prohibitive. Instead, I would go to the Animal Clinic of Farmers Branch, a low-cost clinic. Well, I have an older cat that has several problems, most recently a mobility issue with his right front paw. I called the Hebron Cat Hospital and asked if they did x-rays on Saturdays, and how late were they open. The receptionist said they can do x-rays on Saturdays, and they would be open until 1pm. I told her I would get there as quick as possible, and she said please hurry, as she (the receptionist) was hungry and wanted to go to Fuzzy's. I showed up at 12:50, about 20 minutes after I had spoken to her on the phone, and a woman in scrubs informed me then that it was too late for my cat to be seen. She then asked about my cat, and I spent the next 10 minutes discussing his medical history with her. I was under the impression that the person I was speaking to was the vet herself. However, the woman I was speaking with, the receptionist, technician, or whatever she was, then said something that alerted me to the fact that she was not the vet. I then saw the vet in the back, and asked why she could not have at least examined my poor cat that cannot walk right now without falling down on his face. The exam itself could have been handled during the time that this other woman was discussing the case with me, an interaction that in no way was beneficial to my cat. The woman said that the vet, whom I saw in a back room, had a personal appointment at 1pm, and could not see my cat no matter what. She then went back and spoke to the vet, and came back and said that for an additional $100 emergency fee, she would see my cat now. This was ridiculous. Did she "stall" me for 10 minutes just to make another $100? How important was this personal appointment if she was willing to forego it or be late for a Benjamin? The rest of my point is this. There were no cars in the parking lot when I showed up, and the vet makes plans for the second the clinic closes. In other words, an injured, struggling cat, isn't worth her time to see, during business hours, especially if she can push that customer off a bit and then make an extra $100 out of it. Obviously, make your own decision about this vet. It seems like a nice facility inside, but with only a single veterinarian, and one that puts profits ahead of care, I think I will choose to find another vet that cares more about the animals. On a sidenote, with 5 cats in my household, had they agreed to see my cat as previously agreed upon, without the extortion, and had they provided a high quality of care, they would have made far more than their $100 fee when getting the business caring for my other pets. read more

$35 to take a very cooperative cats blood pressure. Wanted to charge for two x-rays because the xray she purchased is small like most cats, not our cat. She is big on doing tons of labs, we prefer a vet who relies more on diagnostic ability and experience. Sorry nice vet but just not impressed enough to go back. read more

I called and made an appointment the same day, receptionist was very professional on the phone. The vet assistant visited and took notes along with getting a wt and temp. I bring my 3 cats here. One of crew, is an orange tabby, a little overweight but very good boy. The other 2 girls are long hair and I will get the lion shave. They usually come home spunky after their hair dos. They have always been so gentle with my cats. The doctors here are great and so is the staff. The nurses do a great job and are very professional. The vet nurses are excellent and my cats do very well with them. I never feel rushed in this place and the doctor spends time with me. The doctor will always recommend the best to keep everyone safe and I value that. This place is clean and there are no dogs smells. AWESOME place, love it!!!! read more

I took my cat here a few years ago when he was in a lot of pain and had crystals. They got me in right away, and were very patient and understanding with my cat who doesn't like new situations or people and can be difficult. He got everything he needed, relief from his pain right away, they put him on a special food, and it's been over 3 years and he is healthy as can be. I was actually expecting to pay a lot more for everything they did that day, and was surprised with my reasonably priced bill. read more

I have reviewed the reviews for Hebron Cat Hospital and have found no current ones, hence I'll give my report. Recently moved to Tx from Va & was concerned that I'd not be able to find as good a Vet as we had. Did some research and found HCH. The facility is absolutely pristine, easy to make an appointment and not crowded. I have seen 2 staff members in addition to the doctor. One staff member appears to be learning the system and the other is helpful and good @ working with my cat. I have been there 3 times = ear infection, dental cleaning w/ tooth extraction & rabies shot. All 3 times we were treated with respect and the greatest of professional care. Dr. Dee listened to my concerns and explained all the procedures. My cat seems to be comfortable in this setting, something I can't say happens at other pet hospitals. I like the fact that lab work can be done in house and I get results quickly. I am totally pleased w/ HCH and would recommend this facility too anyone who needs medical care for their fur babies. read more

IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAT, AVOID THIS PLACE. If you're like me, your cat is more than just an animal you keep in your back yard. She's your baby. Know that the doctor does not perform general tasks like draw blood. She has her techs/ assistants do it and calls them her "vampires" because they are better at it than she is. Does not sound right. The doc should be the best one there at anything. Even that would've been fine if the tech knew what she was doing. This particular one accidentally ended up jabbing my cat in the wind pipe when she squirmed while she was about to draw blood from the scruff of her neck. I was watching the whole thing. While attempting to get the needle in just under the fatty area tucked under her neck, she squirmed unexpectedly and the needle ended up going all the way in through the front of her neck just under her chin, where it was not meant to go. My cat was NOT properly held down (firmly, by two people). All they did was put an e-collar on her to protect themselves from a possible self-defensive bite. I was alarmed, and they (doc and tech) looked surprised as well. But made no apology or tried to assure me that she was okay. I had to police the whole situation by asking questions, which made it worse. I never went back again. Some time later, I learned from a neighbor that her cat was spayed at this same place. My neighbor claims that after the spay, her cat started having problems with urinating, and had blood in her urine. She had to resort to alternative veterinary medicine to help alleviate symptoms for damage that couldn't be undone. That's when I decided to write this long-overdue review. read more
