My boyfriend and I have been going there a couple times for breakfast and every time it is delicious. I always order the New York Steak with egg whites and my boyfriend likes to change it up a bit. Steak is marinated good and cook it as you want. To finish off a meal we order crepes and they are amazing! I can't really say which one is my favorite because they're delicious! We were planning on going to Adele's but found out it was closed!!! We saw Heidi's across the street and thought we would give it a try. I am sorry but when I see Corned beef hash on the menu (shame on me for not asking!) for $4.95 I expect it to be homemade, not straight from the can. Yecht. Had to send back my husband's biscuit as it was still doughy inside (I know it happens). His scrambled eggs with mushrooms, ham and tomatoes were fine but potatoes were dried out and tasteless. "Biscuits and Sausage Gravy - flaky, buttery and fluffy buttermilk biscuits smothered in creamy and spicy sausage gravy made with sausage, a roux, milk and a dash of creole seasoning." The above is what I expect when you say that you make homemade biscuits and gravy. What I just ate was sweet (??), watery and certainly had no flavor of sausage or pepper or anything, Very disappointed. My husband friend invited us to breakfast. I'm personally not a breakfast fan but I tagged along to visit and I gotta day I'm extremely happy I did! Best eggs Benedict I've ever had!! Ate here wanting to support a local restaurant. I am very picky with food given my history, schooling and experience in cooking. With that said I feel that all local restaurants should always step up their game to be better than those corporate chains. I ordered a chicken fried steak with 2 poached eggs and their home fries and a blueberry muffin. The chicken fried steak: was ok, you can tell it was not pre packaged at least, the gravy was thick and bland which took away from the steak. My recommendation is to get on point with the gravy this will make the steak more enjoyable. Also pounding out the meat more will make it more tender so it's not so chewy. But really work on that gravy! Home fries: were not special, almost tasted like they were O' Brian style potatoes from a pre frozen bag and the potatoes looked uniformly the same size which confirmed my first thought. They don't offer hash browns either. my recommendation is offer a homemade hash brown and homemade home fries and that will bring the quality up with the dish. The poached eggs: were a little over cooked but I usually come across this a lot with places. The muffin: straight up Jiffy mix with some blueberry tossed in. Should have went with the toast. Recommendations: come up with a good recipe a make it an epic item with the breakfast dish. Overall it's ok but honestly IHOP would have been better for the cost we paid. This is why it's so important for local restaurants to step up their game when their are multiple "chains" out there. Give us a reason to come back to local places to eat guys. read more

If you're looking for one of the best breakfasts around visit Heidi's Carson City. I used to love the Reno Heidi's by the old Shopper's Square it was delicious, Framer Brother's Coffee(better than Starbucks ever will be), great service never had a problem at this now closed Reno location, of course Tahoe and now Carson where I love to go. Favorite on the menu the Crepes. I love their plain crepes. Powdered sugar and butter and super thick crepes. Plus one of the few places to serve Smuckers Peanut Butter. Their lunch I've had the American Cristo similar to a Monte Cristo and absolutely delicious. I hope the Carson City location stays open for a long time. The parking lot is small and during Covid make a reservation we did and waited in our car it was only fifteen minutes. They also have a punch card and a waitress was nice enough to give extra punches and my next meal I think is half off. My husband loves Heidi's too and asked me not to used that card until he gets a Sunday off because he loves their huge waffles. He loves Belgium Waffles and Chicken an Waffles especially here. I told him no problem so hopefully in the next few weeks we are going back and I believe the punch card no exp. date. I recommend and will continue to do so. Never once have a had a complaint about this place even the pricing is reasonable. When I give an angry review it takes a lot to push me to that point. I'm from Long Beach California... city of the hit and miss breakfast spots. I'm well qualified to assure you that Heidi's is a HIT. I had the country fried steak breakfast special with biscuits and gravy. It was delicious. A good part of the reason I love Heidi's is the fact I've been coming here since I was kid. I remember coming her with my dad way back when, passing through Carson on a camping trip or vacation, then going to Heidi's as college student for a hungover breakfast. I used to go to the Reno location as much as I did the Carson one, but sadly it moved then closed down. BUMMER Nostalgia aside, Heidi's still has it. Spunky waitresses, great breakfasts and old school charm. The best item on the menu in my humble opinion are the waffles. Best damn waffles this side of anywhere. We came in for some lunch and initially the service was fine. As I was trying to decide what to order I asked the waitress if they make their hollandaise and she informed me that it was canned (No thanks!). I ended up ordering a waffle and my brother ordered FILLED crepes. What was strange about the crepes is they weren't crepes at all! They were very obviously made from pancake batter and then folded. All of the "fillings" were on them and not in them. Additionally, after we had recieved our food we couldn't seem to find our waitress anywhere. So, over all I'd say it just wasn't a very satisfying experience. They claim that they use fresh ingredients (which would justify the price) but from what I experienced that doesn't seem to be the case. Ho-hum. read more

I hadn't been to Heidi's in many many years and was delighted to be able to visit with my MIL who was in town. After looking at the impressive breakfast menu, I chose some hot chocolate which came with a generous mountain of whipped cream and the Alaskan omelette. Filled with crab, shrimp and cheese, this was a hearty meal fit for a king. The hollandaise sauce was the perfect accompaniment and went well with the crispy potatoes served as a side. Skip the chain restaurants and try Heidi's next time you are in town. read more

Heidi's has great, fresh food with great staff. It's hard to find a good Monte Cristo, and they have one that they call the American Cristo. Staff will do their best to accommodate you if you are gluten free, but you'll need to give them some instructions. read more

Update! Surprise! The last time I went to Heidi's with my kids I didn't get oranges with my breakfast - I got a giant strawberry instead! So one more star for the strawberry rather than the do-it-your-self-unpeeled oranges. The coffee seemed a bit better too, but maybe that was because it was still warm because I didn't have to peel all of those oranges. Here's the original review: Heidi's is an okay breakfast establishment, but I have a serious gripe. When I go out for a meal, the LAST thing I want to do is peel an orange, especially four oranges, when I'm out to breakfast with my kids. Really? You don't have someone in the kitchen who can peel the oranges? By the time I'm done peeling all those oranges, the sticky juice is dripping to my elbows and my breakfast is cold, my coffee is cold, and I'm not feeling like leaving a tip, much less coming back at all. I want my side in a dish, or at least peeled, and ready to eat. Don't you have some melon? Strawberries? A banana? (I could handle peeling a banana.) I don't think a waffle and an orange - unpeeled - is worth the $9. Add coffee (meh) and it's over $11 for breakfast. My Husband and I have been coming here almost every weekend for breakfast, for years. The staff are friendly and quick, the breakfast is awesome. I usually switch it up depending on my mood, between the fresh fruit breakfast and their big delicious waffles, I am never dissapointed. My husband gets their country breakfast almost every time. The coffee is good, and I love their bisuits as well! We are big breakfast eaters and Heidi's is as good as it gets for a hearty delicious breakfast. Went and enjoyed a very clean welcoming restaurant with a very pleasant waitress who offered her assistance with any questions and did not rush us at all as we browsed the long extensive yummy menu. Great experience on a Friday morning about 7 AM. I had not been inside this particular Heidi's since the 80s, and I think I will probably return way before I'm 30 years older!! We specifically went there because my mother was craving eggs Benedict, and she was amazed at how many different types of eggs Benedict they offered. I had the biscuits and gravy and was pleasantly surprised to find the biscuits homemade and AS WELL AS THE gravy. It did not disappoint. I will definitely be back! We drive 25+ miles from Reno to eat here and it is worth it! The benedicts and omelets are so delicious and are a great value for what you get. I love the Oscar Benedict, which is filet mignon and blue crab - yummy! It's a casual, friendly feel inside. Very small, hometown kind of restaurant. Servers have always been friendly and warm. Don't be too disappointed, but they don't serve alcohol -so no mimosas or bloody Mary's here. But the food more than makes up for it! read more

I hadn't been to Heidi's for several years. I used to attend an annual Reno golf tournament and would have breakfast here when in Carson City. I moved to Minden last year and I had not returned to Heidi's until this morning for breakfast. What a pleasant surprise. The restaurant had been remodeled since my last visit and it is now clean and has a comfortable atmosphere. We were served by a friendly and attentive waitress. I had the Heidi Classic Breakfast Burrito and enjoyed it very much. My companion had an omelette and also enjoyed it. I am returning for breakfast tomorrow morning with my wife and plan to try one of the several Benedict selections from their extensive breakfast items. A very good first time experience. read more

This is a popular breakfast restaurant which seems to please everyone with its typical breakfast fare. It is open until 2PM and today I made the mistake of going to Heidi's at 1PM and ordering a salad--the Santa Fe salad. When the salad arrived it was a pile--a near-perfect pyramid of chopped and broken bits of things topped with a generous glob of sour cream. As I investigated (a huge mistake--I should have rejected it and left) I found OLD everything. I'm perfectly serious. Everything that might have been left over from other concoction, Celery ends? in Sothwestern cuisine? Beets or something beet-like? Preposterous. I had gone in expecting something competent and edible as the German/Swiss name would suggest--I was in a good mood. The "grilled" chicken may have been grilled...last week. Disgusting and insulting are the only words I can find. Heidi's will survive one bad review, but this is who they truly are. read more
