Well, let me start off my story by saying I am not a knowledge painter. So, this all started when I painted my classroom desk in Latex Paint. Well, most people will tell you that Latex Paint is not good for furniture. The Latex will remain sticky for the rest of time. Somehow, I have missed this life long lesson. Now my choices, do I sand off all the paint and then paint again with oil? Umm, no. Do I buy a new desk? Umm no. Ah-ha! I need a glass top so I am able to use my desk.... After taking measurements, I called many glass company's in the Houston area. Heights Glass had the lowest quote by a little more then 10 dollars. As we know, I am not that knowledge in this whole venture and now I need to make decisions. How thick does the glass need to be? Tempered? Beveled edge? Luckily Doug was able to save the day. He told me that I do not need tempered glass, it should be this thick, and all the edges are steamed or something (which means no sharp edges). Doug told me the glass would be ready in 3 hours. I can even get my hair done in 3 hours. This is awesome. I picked up the glass, I had a very nice gentleman carried it to my car and I was on my way to save my desk before the beginning of the school year. read more

It's the second rock chip since I moved to Houston. It says sth about the city roads. Anyway, it's what it is and I just need to deal with it. The first one I didn't do anything and ended up replacing my windshield. Not gonna let that happen again. I chose this place because of the price. I called a lot of places in the area and all wants $40+. One place has a special for $30 but you need to purchase a voucher and make appointment 24 hours in advance. Didn't have that kind of energy. I just wanted it done ASAP before it spreads. The process was quick and easy. I pulled in and go out of the car. Somebody came and talk to me and took my key and told me to wait in the front. He was nice. The lady in the front was nice too. It took about 15 minutes to fix it. The guy said you could still see the crack (of course I didn't expect it to be as good as new!) but it won't spread and it's guaranteed. It's $35 all inclusive. The crack was about the size of a quarter. I gave 5 stars for this visit because there really was nothing to pick on. I will see how this repair holds up and hopefully don't have to write an update. read more

Called again the next day and she gave me a quote but then said we should have someone come out to take a cook at my coffee table for a better quote and told me she needed to look at his schedule.. never called me back. Called AGAIN the next day finally got someone to come out and he was not able to give me a quote in person and at this point I assumed they would never call me back and sure enough they didn't. I had really good and helpful service a while back when I had a pane of glass replaced in a door (I took the pane in to the shop) so I decided to try them for a repair to a window at my home. I have been less than impressed this time. I called to try to make an appointment but the guy who answered the phone told me that I needed to call back first thing in the morning to make an appointment and he gets there at 7am. I work an off hours job and I am not up at 7am so I emailed them. Fortunately they were able to make an appointment via email. At my appointment, the repairman was half an hour late. The window pane itself seems to have been repaired just fine but when I inspected it, the window frame was not closing correctly and the lock clasp had broken off. Fortunately I was able to catch the guy before he drove out of the driveway but this seems like something that he should have pointed out to me, not just left me to find on my own. Additionally, I had to put my dogs up while he was in the yard working on the window. When I went to let them back out, I noticed he had left several pieces of glass under the window where the dogs could have been hurt. They were pretty noticeable too, not an oversight if anyone had checked. read more

I have used heights glass for years and have been very pleased with their work until today. I had a chip in my windshield due to the terrible Houston roads. I have had chips fixed at Heights with excellent results but today was the exception. I wish they had told me it was going to look worse when they repaired it. When I called and asked if they could cut a custom piece of glass not only were they super quick giving me a quote, they cut it and had it ready for me the moment I walked in! I can buy a pane of glass that size at C&D hardware for $10, so I'm pretty sure it's their labor costs, not the glass, that is so outrageous. I needed a smallish bathroom mirror cut to size. A couple of weeks later the contractor decided it should be an inch and a half smaller. When I took it back I was expecting them to take my name and phone number to let me know when to come back to pick it up. I was starting to become impatient, waiting for them to take down my information after they took it in the back, when the gentleman returned the mirror to me on the spot, already cut and polished! beware all prospective buyers of shower doors. Since ordering my shower door some three months ago I have been tortured by the incompetence of Euroview and Heights Glass. Quite simply they telephone to make appointments and then do not appear ( on five occasions) they promise to call back and do not (too many to count) and they take money for the final expensive payment which should be divided between my Home depot card and my credit card and they take it all from my credit card!!!!!!!!! to finish off they eventually turn up to install the shower doors and we find there is a leak from under the door flooding the floor in our bathroom. Let me be more clear... Every time I called Heights Glass I spoke with someone different and everyone seemed clueless. I had to call them 3 times to try to get someone to come and measure the window because they wouldn't call me back with a time. The guy that came out to measure the window was supposed to be at my house at 8:30 am. I had to call Heights Glass at 9am to see if anyone was actually going to come. Yes it was a crazy weather day but good customer service would have been them calling me and informing me that they were still coming however they were running late. Instead I got "oh sure... we can send someone now". As if they forgot they had an 8:30am appointment with me. Yes I called around to compare companies because this company seemed shady. When I did decide to get the window from them I asked for a Friday deadline and they kept skirting around the idea on if they could do it. When I did call at 3:30 they took my credit card and told me they would call me to follow up if they could make the deadline. Guess what.... no call. So the next afternoon... I had to call to find out if they ordered the glass. The answer was no. Again... why did I have to call?? They had my credit card info I thought we were moving forward and good customer service would have been them calling me the next morning to get the order going. Lastly- the gentleman that answers the phone is rude and unorganized. I'm going to stick to my one star vote... do not use this company unless you want a huge headache and terrible customer service! read more
