An awesome find inside a restaurant this Speakeasy bar. Went with a friend had an overall very good experience. Reasonably priced food. We ordered mussels and fries and fried calamari's. Two of their drinks . Spicy Margarita and Another one . Both were very good . Loved their small plates .Coming bank soon with a big group .

Like Trios, but even better. Get ready for a bunch of superlatives... This place has some similarities to Trios in Merrifield. Both Heirloom and Trios are attached to--and share a kitchen with--a Roadhouse Grill, and all of them are owned by the same parent company. However, Heirloom is much smaller, which I suspect makes it easier to control quality. Based on my experiences--one visit here and many visits to Trios over the years--the quality of just about everything is better at Heirloom. My meal consisted of their Smoked Manhattan, the Burrata salad, and the Heirloom Burger. (The burger was so good that they named the restaurant after it!) The Manhattan was one of the best Manhattans I've ever had. It had a wonderfully mellow, balanced flavor that edged toward sweet, despite being made with rye. Maybe it was the aroma--and eventual taste--of the large toasted marshmallow suspended over my glass where the cherry would normally go? I guess, to be sure, I'll have to go back and order another. The Burrata did what all great burratas do: each bite felt like a mouthful of sunshine. The cheese, tomatoes, arugula, and balsamic vinaigrette combined to create pure culinary happiness. The only better burrata I can recall was at Mikrolimano in Athens. However, once you factor in travel time and parking, Heirloom is definitely the better value. The Heirloom Burger was absolutely delicious. This past week I've been waxing poetic about burgers because one of the Hackney's restaurants back home is closing after 70 years, so emotionally, I'm not prepared to bestow any new burger honors just yet. However, check back in a few weeks, and you may very well see this review updated to say that the Heirloom Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Other logistics... The service was OUTSTANDING. We were seated right at our reservation time, greeted warmly by several staff members, and waited on nearly hand and foot by Alex. She explained the menu, helped us select our beverages, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the meal. It was attentive service without ever feeling intrusive. Parking is free after 5 and on weekends in a multi-story garage about half a block away. Happy hour is 5-7. They call Heirloom a speakeasy, but it feels more like a small restaurant with an eight-stool bar and a few high-tops. It's intimate compared with the Roadhouse, but not exactly speakeasy-intimate. And, finally, Heirloom is inside Roadhouse. You walk down a hallway, turn left into a very short hallway, open an unmarked door, and then go through a second door marked only by a red rose on the handle. I suspect the obscure entrance is their justification for calling it a speakeasy. But with food and service this good, they can call it whatever they like.

Cocktails were good, service was great but my meal was very oily I did tell the waiter who explained it was the "butter" in the pasta They did offer a replacement I personally wouldn't return. The menu wasn't my taste. The burger sounded good but most of the options weren't for me Very small menu Sorbet was delicious The restaurant itself was casual and trendy

Great service and delicious food. The burrata was fresh and amazing and the papa bravas were crispy. The pork was a bit dry. The tuna had a nice sear with nice crisped rice and crunchy vegetables. The sautéed garlic spinach and potatoes were good. The toffee pudding was warm with vanilla ice cream and was a nice finisher. A bit pricey but worth it for a nice night out.

Heirloom was a fantastic 5-star cocktail experience and such a cool surprise inside Open Road Distillery. We loved the speakeasy vibe and the unmarked door entrance that made the whole experience feel unique and elevated from the start. We originally came to the distillery for food and drinks, but after hearing about Heirloom, we decided to make reservations for cocktails afterward -- and we're so glad we did. The atmosphere was elegant, intimate, and beautifully designed, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy expertly crafted cocktails after dinner. Even though we only came for drinks this time, the experience completely exceeded expectations. We'll definitely be back again and next time hope to try some of the food menu as well.

Yummm. Decided last minute to hit up Heirloom for date night. Made it for happy hour and tried (almost) the full menu. Food was delicious. And drinks were stellar. Sam, the GM came to check in on us which is always appreciated as an attentive customer. Staff were very kind and friendly. Would love to return!

What a cute, speakeasy with excellent customer service and delicious food! So, we came here Sunday and had a great time. The music was good and befitting for the day. The ambiance was cozy and intimate. The waiter was also super great! She very observant and timely with her dish deliveries and water refills. We decided to start with two small plates which were an excellent start to our experience. The Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly was absolutely delicious. From the sauces that were included on the dish to the perfectly cooked and seasoned potatoes... I definitely would recommend this dish to everyone that decides to visit Heirloom. Then the Oysters Rockefeller.... simply put, so much flavor! I then opted to get the Heirloom Burger. All the items that came on the burger added to the taste experience, however, my only wish was that the patty should have been seasoned a tad more. Despite that, my additions of bbq sauce and mayo added to the burger, where the seasoning kind of lacked. Overall, great experience. I will be back!

Okay, so I had to come back and try this burger... and it's the best tasting burger I have ever eaten in my life. I had a bite last time I was here... and it blew me away. This is the one... great flavor combinations and a crispy juicy burger. The onion straws and mushrooms went so well that I will probably be back on a 350+ mile drive, just to get this burger. Enjoy! Service was still top notch in this sleek upscale speakeasy.

It's discovering places like this that I feel compelled to write reviews for Yelp. My husband and I were picking up our son at Dulles and wanted a nice restaurant to try since we had to make the drive from Richmond. This was number one on the list when I searched best restaurants in Reston and it did not disappoint! Heirloom is tucked away in the distillery and has a cozy speakeasy feel with green velvet booths and an eclectic seafood forward menu. Cocktails : Manhattan - top notch My sweet side piece - fun presentation with table side bubbles! Feels a bit like a fall drink. Warm spice. Very tasty and too easy to drink fast lol Apps: We got the baked shrimp and the beef carpaccio. Both outstanding and so flavorful. Just needed some bread to soak up the sauce in the baked shrimp. The lemon rind in the shrimp was a perfect compliment to the sauce and the carpaccio was perfectly seasoned and the thinnest slices I have ever had which made it delicate and delicious. Entrees: We got the sea bass and the short rib bolognese. Blown away by how good both of these were and so very different. The short rib bolognese had a rich but not heavy flavor with fresh pasta and a delightful velvety spiciness - not heat though. The sea bass was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked with a carrot ginger puree that was sublime with the spinach and fish. We loved both of these entrees. Really wanted dessert but sadly not more room which was better for our stomachs and our wallets. It's not a cheap endeavor here but worth the cost for a fabulous meal out and a very cool vibe.

I have been wanting to try this cute speakeasy in Open Road Distillery. It's behind a nondescript door near the bathrooms. Food (5/5): I could not believe that this cute speakeasy had a $10 drink and $10 food menu from 4-6pm on weekdays. it's definitely one of the best deals in the NOVA area for Happy Hour! The best part is that you can get the happy hour menu anywhere at the tables not just the bar! This is amazing!!! https://heirloomreston.com/hh/ $10 Happy Hour food: CRISPY CALAMARI parmesan, vodka sauce, pesto aioli - this was amazing.. really good calamari that melts in your mouth! WAGYU MEATBALLS marinara, garlic bread - these were really hearty and delicious BELGIAN STYLE MOULES FRITES applewood smoked bacon, leeks, fines herbes - these were great - they came with a big side of fries and the mussels were really good. SHORT RIB AND CHEESE SLIDERS pickled pepper relish, mornay sauce - these were my least favorite of the HH food - the short rib was was a bit mealy in texture and you could't really taste the cheese. There was only 2 sliders per order. We also tried the burrata ($19) which was not on the happy hour menu, but it was delicious. The flavors were complex and it was a balanced dish and totally worth it. Drink: Gold rush ($10) was a fabulous drink. We were celebrating a birthday and at the end of the meal they brought out half glasses of prosecco for us. it was a great way to end the meal! Service (5/5): We had a great server. One of my friends had been there before and knew one of the sommeliers and he sent over a free focaccia. This was great, although the bread was more like a thick wheat bread rather than a traditional focaccia. Ambiance (5/5): The private velvet booths were great. I really enjoyed the quietness of the restaurant

Heirloom is tucked inside Open Road Distillery. As LOUD and raucous as Open Road is, Heirloom is quiet and relaxing and luxurious. The service was excellent. Our waiter Grant was very attentive and sweet. My friend asked questions about wine, and they brought her 2 sample pours with recommendations for a 3rd wine to consider - and the offer of a sample pour of that as well. She enjoyed the recommended vintage. We started with the herb focaccia. It came with 3 delicious spreads but the whipped ricotta was my fav. My friend had the beef bolognese and really enjoyed it. I didn't taste any but it smelled divine. I had the cioppino which was full of seafood in a rich tomato-based broth - super yummy. We shared the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The food was great as was the service. We'll definitely return.

Heirloom is where my partner and I got dinner after we got married/eloped. Our server on Sept 5 made it feel special for us, and we're really grateful for him! We caught the tail end of happy hour and ordered everything on the menu to start. It was filling so we didn't end up ordering additional food. However, everything was delicious. If we had to choose, the french onion dip was probably our least favorite of the selection. We also enjoyed the "FRESH Out" mocktail and the "Sunset in Reston" cocktail. The tiramisu was an interesting take on the classic dessert. They also brought out a little extra sweet for us and glasses of champagne. I can't wait to go back! I love the ambiance.

    Michelle Y.

Heirloom never disappoints! The food is always fresh (I could eat their mussels every day)! Our server was fantastic. I never had to ask for a refill and she checked in on us frequently (it was a friend's bday and she brought us all champagne). The ambiance is moody - it's honestly pretty dark - we all have to bring out of our phones to read the menu but worth it, and it's unique in that way. The entrance can be tricky, as it's literally inside Open Road - and through two black doors (thought it was for employees only). There's ample parking in the garages too!

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

But, overall enjoyed it! They give you gloves and a bib so you can dig in without worrying getting too messy. One special thing they have on the menu is their ramen side. I've never seen this at other crab boils. The ramen is so tasty in the garlic butter sauce. It was my favorite part and I kept going back for more! We were unfortunately served the branzino topped with only the Chilean garlic sauce and not the lemon caper sauce at all. The server wasn't seeming to know what to do with our dissatisfied reaction, so we decided to salvage the fish and ordered the lemon caper on the side, it tasted bland at best. Fish was fine, but unfortunately there was nothing worth mentioning positively about it for its $37 price point. *Neither sauce was worth ordering and unfortunately neither tasted how they were described, more like plain aioli. In our ignorance, we didn't realize branzino meant the whole fish would be served versus a filet. It would have been nice to have been able to read that fact on the menu prior to ordering. We ordered the truffle fries, which had probably zero amounts of truffle on them. Overcooked. We ordered the tropical mojito mocktail, and it was either poorly made or the recipe could use a complete reset. The crab stuffed mushrooms and sauce, amazing. Server, kind. We were asking quite a few questions of him, trying to decide between the Chilean with lobster or the branzino, which showed our ignorance in the fish choices, I believe. A good server would have picked up on this, and went into a much more detailed explanation of both dishes to educate and inform us on making the right decision. So I think it's pretty accurate to say that a good majority of the problems we had could have been salvaged had he been a little more seasoned at reading the individual needs of his customers. Although, with ordering either of these entrees or the truffle fries, we would have been disappointed as the flavor was just not there. Being out of towners used to seafood from California, we were excited to try a new place on the east coast. I read multiple positive reviews from other customers, and unfortunately we are leaving disappointed in the $80 spent. We joked that perhaps the usual chef called in sick and the bus boy took his place. Underwhelming. Overcooked. Bland. But, they had pretty tables.

Come on, that's an instant five stars in my book. We ended up talking wine with him for a good part of the afternoon. He had us sample a few different pours before we landed on a Nebbiolo we loved. Later, after another conversation about wine, he brought over a taste of a white we'd never even heard of because he thought we'd enjoy trying it. It never felt like an upsell. It just felt like talking with someone who genuinely enjoys wine and likes sharing it with people. Relaxing patio, great food, excellent cocktails, and genuinely memorable service. We'll definitely be back, and Onyx probably will too.

I ordered to go and food was ready on arrival. I wasn't greeted by anyone upfront though, just grabbed and left. Casual but very pretty restaurant.
