The facility was very clean and they did not only take care of my mom's needs for her healing, they went way above and beyond our expectations. My mom could not express enough of her gratitude towards the staff members and its administrator, he's doing an excellent job running that facility. My mom almost didn't want to leave that place. She and my father-in-law spent six of those years together in the same assisted living apartment. The staff and management knew them well. We believed she was part of a community. We trusted that she was cared for. After my father-in-law passed in 2017, everything changed. With new ownership and management came a noticeable decline -- fewer gatherings, fewer thoughtful touches, and a clear shift away from the residents who had built that community. The warmth disappeared. The effort disappeared. The food declined significantly. We dined with her often and eventually began taking her out because meals there were so poor. Over the past year, she lost 35-40 pounds. She was not able to tell us about the food because she had a stroke many years before and could not speak. We later learned she wasn't eating -- and no one alerted us. No one noticed. Or if they did, they failed to act. That is inexcusable. After 15 years in the same apartment, her unit was never properly updated. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom cabinetry was falling apart. The space looked worn down and neglected. For two years, we were repeatedly told renovations were coming. They never happened. Then, after Christmas, she became ill and passed away 20 days later. She spent her final three days on hospice in the very place she had called home for a decade and a half. In those last days, only three staff or management members came to see her. Three. After 15 years. We did hear one staff member comment that she was sad she would no longer get clothes from my MIL (who was always very generous). After her passing, there was no card from the Regency management. No condolences. No acknowledgment to my husband, who had just lost his mother. They once posted notices honoring residents who passed. This time -- nothing. We did everything we could to give her a life filled with dignity and love. We trusted Regency to do the same within their walls. They did not. This is more than disappointment. It is heartbreak -- and a profound sense of betrayal.

Please this is a serious warning, I just removed my mother from this run-down facility on May 8, 2025, after the RN in charge took it upon herself to allow a complete stranger in the facility at 11pm on May 7, 2025, to visit my mom who she did not know. The RN did not require the stranger to sign in nor did she have a family member at the facility. The RN told me she let the strange women crying hysterically in the center because she claims to have lost her mother and wanted to visit anyone at the facility. The RN then brought the hysterical woman to my mom's bedside and stated, "you have a visitor" !!!! What RN does such a thing? The strange Women had access to my mom's cell phone and called my mom's sister crying hysterically. She told my mom's sister she was her neighbor/friend visiting her and said how much she loved my mom! The stranger obviously was not in a clear mental state, and she was insistent on feeding my mom. My mother kept telling her she was not hungry. The strange woman then told my mom that she was my mom's niece, my mom responded, "You are not my niece." The stranger then probed my mom for person information about her family, which my mom provided being vulnerable in the medical state that she is in, after several strokes and very weak. This went on for a bit until my mom's roommate told the charge nurse to remove this stranger from the room, because my mom did not know her. (Thank God for her roommate) This RN put my mother's life in danger as well as the other patients there. The medical staff are not adequate and make horrible decisions there, and there needs to be a serious investigation regarding this matter! These so-called professionals will be reported as well by me to make sure they don't hurt other vulnerable patients. We filed a report with the local police department in Baldwin Park CA. and with the proper authorities for example Public Health, and other entities. If anyone wants to ask me questions, please feel free to message me, I will be very honest about our experience and those of other friends at the facility. I will also note that the staff is very unprofessional and require serious training. The only good thing I can say about the facility is that 2 of the CNAs Frederico & Hambee took good care of my mom when they were on duty only, otherwise my mom had a difficult time with other staff who were unprofessional, rude to her. (This enter is more like a nightmare, don't let their pre-recorded message on the phone system fool you !!!!!) The loving caring model is all fake!!!!! The decision to abruptly remove my mom indirect response to the breach of safety protocols was Absolutely necessary; I could not allow my mother to remain in an environment where her well-being is at risk. The facility has never called to apologize for this horrid incident nor tried to explain the negligence that took place at the facility. I know that other patients were upset, including concerned family members as well. This facility should be under an extensive investigation for such negligence. Additionally, my mom had fell a couple a weeks ago and she is on a blood thinner medication and a different RN fail to call 911 which is standard procedure when my mom was not feeling well per the treating physician at the hospital ER the doctor recommended to report the facilities poor judgement and lack of knowledge by the RN at Victoria Care Center. They are patient, caring, and treat every resident like family. They have gently encouraged him to join in on activities, and now he is actually excited to participate. He has been going to the morning exercise classes, art sessions, and even the wine and cheese socials. He loves the movie nights and scenic drives too, things we never imagined he would do again. The community is beautiful, spotless, and full of warmth. What really stands out is the energy here because everyone seems happy and engaged. She could not give a reason for the delay nor a definite date nor an apology. This is without a doubt, poor business practice. The other staff members seem pleasant enough. *Update* Gina called to say that the check was ready. Surprised to us because we were told that checks are only written on Thursday (someone misled). Worse, yet they made the check out to the wrong person. They wrote it out to my mother. She did not leave the deposit. She did not provide financial information and we had specifically asked who will the check be written out to? We were told whoever provided the deposit. We confirmed the name. It should be written out to the person acknowledged. Obviously accounting or billing do not know what they're doing. They are not paying attention to the details. They are not paying attention to instruction.

I am delightfully and surprisingly impressed with Ramona Nursing & Rehab. It is such a relief to know my father is with trusted and caring professionals. Almost everyone, even people in different stations, know my father by name. They staff will smile, greet you, and tend to your request quickly. They have a great team of healers including PT, OT, Speech therapy. And the administration is friendly as well. They are proactive and patient. The facility is clean and organized. Though the building is old and dated, you can see the effort they put in to keep it as comfortable as possible. Parking lot is always full weekdays. Weekends are much better, less staff at the facility, so more time for visitations.
