I recently had the pleasure of working with Emily and Melody, the Sales Directors at Park View…read morePlace Assisted Living, and I cannot express enough how truly wonderful they are. Their compassion, kindness, and gentle approach shines through in everything they do. When they tours families considering a move into the community, they listen with genuine care and make what can often be a difficult decision feel comforting and reassuring. Their ability to connect with people and guide them with patience and empathy is extraordinary. I also want to acknowledge LeAnne, the Executive Director of Park View Place. She is an outstanding leader--hands-on, approachable, and deeply empathetic. LeAnne oversees the community with a warmth and dedication that makes residents and families feel like they are in the very best hands. Together, they create an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and truly centered on the well-being of every resident. Park View Place Assisted Living is lucky to have such passionate and caring leaders, and any family would be fortunate to choose this wonderful community.

I had a very disappointing experience at Parkview Place Assisted Living & Memory Care in Covina…read more While on shift, I witnessed extremely unprofessional behavior from a nurse on the memory care unit. She loudly used profanity What was most concerning is that the administrator was present and did nothing to correct or address the behavior. In a healthcare setting, especially one caring for vulnerable memory care residents, professionalism, respect, and accountability are essential. Unfortunately, none of that was demonstrated. This experience raised serious concerns about staff culture, leadership, and how issues are handled internally. Based on what I witnessed, I would not recommend this facility and will not be returning.

I am beyond furious with the Regency Grand at West Covina…read more My mother-in-law lived there for 15 years. Fifteen years. She and my father-in-law spent six of those years together in the same assisted living apartment. The staff and management knew them well. We believed she was part of a community. We trusted that she was cared for. After my father-in-law passed in 2017, everything changed. With new ownership and management came a noticeable decline -- fewer gatherings, fewer thoughtful touches, and a clear shift away from the residents who had built that community. The warmth disappeared. The effort disappeared. The food declined significantly. We dined with her often and eventually began taking her out because meals there were so poor. Over the past year, she lost 35-40 pounds. She was not able to tell us about the food because she had a stroke many years before and could not speak. We later learned she wasn't eating -- and no one alerted us. No one noticed. Or if they did, they failed to act. That is inexcusable. After 15 years in the same apartment, her unit was never properly updated. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom cabinetry was falling apart. The space looked worn down and neglected. For two years, we were repeatedly told renovations were coming. They never happened. Then, after Christmas, she became ill and passed away 20 days later. She spent her final three days on hospice in the very place she had called home for a decade and a half. In those last days, only three staff or management members came to see her. Three. After 15 years. We did hear one staff member comment that she was sad she would no longer get clothes from my MIL (who was always very generous). After her passing, there was no card from the Regency management. No condolences. No acknowledgment to my husband, who had just lost his mother. They once posted notices honoring residents who passed. This time -- nothing. We did everything we could to give her a life filled with dignity and love. We trusted Regency to do the same within their walls. They did not. This is more than disappointment. It is heartbreak -- and a profound sense of betrayal.

That said if the facility cannot keep up with those basic items of maintenance, how would you expect them to care for someone whom you Love and hold near and dear to your heart. Upon review I've come to know that this place provides sincere care and what that means is the "certified nurse assistants" whom hustle and bustle up and down those halls to answer call lights, feed, change, read to their patients and so much more is what makes this facility worth writing about. It's not the registered nurses, or the dietician's or the LVN's those people you'll find sitting behind a desk somewhere hiding out I can only imagine because their lazy.
