Took my dog for some summer dining at McDougals and it didn't disappoint! Ordered the chicken fingers and fries - and it came with so many sauces I lost count! The chicken fingers were very good - crispy, juicy and cooked just right. The fries had some great seasoning and were crispy, not soggy! The staff was incredible and the outside patio area was such a great spot to hang out and enjoy dinner and a high noon!

A good place to get quality chicken especially if you are into more than just hot chicken. The staff is always nice and the choice between sitting inside or outside is always plus. The honey bee flavor is my go to here. Their tea is also good as well!

Gotta get chicken when in Nashville! McDougal's is a local favorite- chicken can be grilled or fried! Lots of dips available as well so take your pick! My fried chicken sandwich on Tennessee toast was perfect esp loved the pickles and fries in my meal. Don't forget the sweet tea as well! Service was friendly & good and restaurant was clean - loved the patio with red umbrellas as well!

Walked to this lil place from our air bnb. Great food, delicious sauces, epic service. Manager went out of his way to take great care of us. Worth a stop for any local or visitor. Cool interior as well. Kids age 6 to adults age 40 loved it!

I've been McDooging it for a long time, and I just want to say, they've always been consistent with the W. Recently their fries have become more gasoline that honeybee sauce sure has rocked my world a lot of times. I put the leftovers in the fridge

Last time I went to McDougals was at their OG location years ago. This location makes it just as good as I remember. Gold sauce is still 100% my fav dipping sauce, and the chicken tenders are as juicy and crispy as always. I love that there's an outdoor seating area in addition to the spacious indoor seats. Food came out fast and fresh.

At the time of this writing, the original McDougal's on Belcourt was recovering from fire damage, the Brentwood McDougal's was still under construction, and the other stores that once extended deep into Williamson County were long closed. So this was the only extant member of the franchise at which I could get my fix of those incredible McDougal's chicken tenders! And it was not disappointing in the least! There is something this Nashville icon does perfectly that nobody else can replicate. It's the batter! Super crispy, but thin and crumbly, you'll watch flakes of beautiful batter drop onto your plate as you sink your teeth into the most tender, juicy chicken you could ever imagine. These are unequivocally the best chicken fingers in the Nashville metropolitan area! The fries are fresh cut daily and delicious, although a little soggy. The multitude of sauces are always freshly made. This is the only location that does not offer free ice cream, but that's okay. The patio they're currently renovating is going to beat all ground-level outdoor spaces in the city!

Nothing fancy, but great/friendly service. Food was fresh, and reasonably priced. It was a nice day, so we sat outside.

They're closed through January 2nd. Update your hours so customers aren't inconvenienced. Your tenders are damn good...I'm so mad.

They seated us on the 4th floor, next to a large open window, where we had an excellent view of the street below. My wife and I decided to split the waffle sliders: Omelet Style Eggs, Cheddar Cheese, and Bacon sandwiched between 2 pieces of Belgian Waffles. There were 2 'sliders' - which were huge! Everything was cooked to perfection. And the combination of flavors were unbelievable. We both thought they were delicious. I can't wait to try making this at home! The decor was great. The staff couldn't have been better. Service was quick and efficient. We're so glad we decided to eat here!

It was also pretty cool that there's different floors to eat on. We were on the 6th floor so the view was great. Our server was knowledgeable about Nashville so that was a great conversation with her. The food was mediocre - I had the avocado toast that did not have a lot of avocado but it was ok. I wanted an over easy egg but they only have scrambled eggs. My husband had scrambled eggs, potato's and bacon...again nothing special. Go for the view from the 6th floor!

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is a chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

On one visit with only a few of us there our bartender disappeared for a good 20 minutes. Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

It was our first time visiting, and we weren't sure where to go. The security guard at the main door was very helpful and pointed us in the right direction. However, when we got upstairs, it was a different story. There was no one there to give us any direction, and we didn't see a sign stating whether we could seat ourselves. The place was a bit busy, but there was a section with about six empty tables. We chose to sit there so we could be near the fan since it was very humid yesterday. No one acknowledged that we had been seated, so when a waiter walked by to clear a table, I asked if it was okay for us to seat ourselves. He said yes, handed us menus, and walked away. No problem--I could tell it was busy and that he was running around, so I took no offense to him walking off. We waited about 10-15 minutes. No one offered us water or came over to greet us. The same waiter I had spoken to returned to our table carrying an empty pitcher, and I greeted him. In response, I got, "You know what you want?" I repeated my greeting, and he repeated his question. Mind you, he never introduced himself, so I have no clue what his name is. The only conversation we had before that was when he confirmed that we could seat ourselves. While I understand being overwhelmed or tired, I can't understand being met with such a rude disposition when I had done nothing to warrant that response. Needless to say, I didn't want someone who found greeting me to be an impossible task handling my food, so we left. He couldn't have cared less that we were leaving. He grabbed his pitcher and walked away before we did. They could have really good food and drinks, but I'll never know. My hope is that this was a one-off situation, but something tells me it's not. There's a bar on the first and fourth floors. The first floor is pretty open with minimal seating, so I'm assuming it's meant for dancing. They also have a live band set up on that floor. Lastly, thank you to the security guard. He was a tall guy with braids, and despite our brief interaction, he was the only person who made us feel welcome. Outside of that interaction, this place was disappointing.
