Let me start by saying I had a horrible expedience with another company years ago and when it came time to move items out of storage to my home, I hired helix and was very satisfied with their professionalism and meticulous way they moved every thing in. Fast forward to now needing my next move (with full packing service) and they showed up for me yet again with great overall service. Peter at the helix office helped me with my estimate both times, he has clearly been doing this a long time and he was spot on with exactly how long it would take and the number of movers to send. The day before my move someone called me to check in, see if I had any questions, and tell me exactly what to expect the next day. That morning my lead mover called and told me exactly what time he would be arriving. He walked the property and introduced everyone, asked if I had any questions and explained my insurance options before they got started. He assigned tasks to everyone and they where off to the races putting every thing in my 2500 sq foot 3 story townhome in boxes and on the truck. The guys asked questions as they had them and I felt very comfortable that they where listening to my needs. Overall it was a great experience. Peter even checked on me the day after to see if I was satisfied. If you want to work with movers who are honest with their timing, will answer as many questions as you may possibly have along the way, and value your feedback - this is the place. I initially gave a high rating because I was pleased with my move. The movers were friendly and efficient, and I was overall pleased with their work. However, as I've begun to unpack things I feel that, unfortunately, I need to add an update to my previous review. Ever since my move was completed, my bed has felt weird. Last night, half the mattress rose up off the frame like the mattress was about to tip over and then it fell toward the floor. When I took the sheets off to wash them today, I decided to also move the mattress and check the bed frame. What I found was disappointing. The metal slats that are supposed to support the mattress (and me) weren't secured in the bedframe. If I hadn't checked today, not only would continued use of it like that have bent the metal slats beyond repair, the bed wasn't properly secured creating a danger for me. I also noticed they damaged my headboard which is disappointing because the bedroom set wasn't even a month old when I moved. The metal framing doesn't even require tools to put together. The slats literally just needed to be slid into the grooves to be properly secured. Once again, the movers were nice and from most of what I've seen, my things made it to my new place undamaged. I'm just very disappointed to find out they did such a poor job putting my bed back together after having had an otherwise pleasant experience. read more

Right before the move, my apartment dropped a last-minute bombshell that we might not be able to reserve the elevator. I was stressed, but Mia was so helpful and immediately got us an updated quote to reflect the change so we knew exactly what to expect. On moving day, Fabricio, Elby, and Bryan were an absolute dream team. They arrived right on time and gave us a 30-minute heads-up before they pulled up. They were super flexible and understanding of our situation, and they honestly went above and beyond to get everything moved. They were incredibly careful with our stuff, professional, and very courteous. Plus, they were fast--they finished well within the estimated time. I also really appreciated that they were completely upfront about additional costs (like the TV wrapping) so there were no surprises at the end. This is my 4th time hiring Helix and they are the only moving company I would choose and recommend in the DMV area. Price is reasonable compared to other companies. Customer service on the phone was good but what keeps me to keep hiring Helix for moves is because of the moving crew. They are amazing and impress me every time. Crew members on this job were Jonis, Eliud, and Eduardo. They were very professional, punctual, efficient, and detail oriented. Their teamwork was great and they make a fantastic team together! They even finished the job earlier than the quoted time. I really appreciated how they wrapped my furniture. Other companies I've hired just wrapped my furniture with plastic wrap twice and once I unwrapped it, the furniture was damaged. But the Helix crew wrapped my furniture with blankets and plastic wrapped numerous times to make sure everything was well protected. I can't stop talking about moving using Helix Movers. The team showed up on time and communicated with me over the week prior to moving to make sure there were no last minute changes. The day of the move the team contacted me to give me status updates, in reference to their time of arrival. They arrived on time and went right to work after I explained the logistics. They were professional, quick, very knowledgeable of how to wrap items and worked together to complete the move in a timely manner. They were very efficient and the payment process following the move was seamless. I will always use their service and they also had a great price and worked with me. I had to change my move 3 times due to unforseen circumstances. They were still patient and courteous. They are worth the price and I had no worries or concerns. These moves are paid by the hour and these 2 didn't waste a minute. Everything was packed and moved with care. They disassembled and reassembled the furniture. They were careful to note where the boxes came from (kitchen, living room) to be sure everything was moved appropriately. They took a tour at both houses to be sure they knew what I wanted packed and where I wanted the furniture set up. The front office answered all my questions quickly, followed up when needed. I worked with Helix Transfer and Storage in June 2022 and they were amazing. They moved me from a basement apartment to a storage facility with careful, thoughtful, and efficient work. Both guys were so nice and made sure everything was packed and sealed for a safe journey and stay in my storage unit. I picked Helix after a lengthy review of DC area companies tgen based my decision off a combination of eating (their google and Angie's List ratings are much better than yelp) and cost. Leo, Elon's and Carlos showed up right on time at the earliest estimated arrival. they moved quickly but weapped everything with either plastic, blankets, cardboard or combination the 3. they packed up my flat screens and mirrors at no extra cost for supplies. At our new location they had to go up 2 flights of steps in a narrow staircase but did so without bumping and scratching up our stuff or the walls. even after I paid and they weren't able to get more time on the bill they still offered to help nove things around for us. great positive service at a price that was reasonable. read more

Hired Helix T&S to help unload our POD after a long distance move. Jose and Marco did a great job helping us unload our POD into a two story row home in Bloomingdale. They worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done. Only thing keeping this from five stars was that they moved so quickly, sometimes they didn't always take the best care, hitting doors and corners. Jose seemed to be very experienced and know what he was doing, Marco was good, but didn't always know how to handle angles with large pieces of furniture. That being said, we had two very large pieces that needed to go upstairs on a steep turn at the top of the stairwell, and eventually they were able to get it up. Overall would recommend! read more

I had a great experience with Helix doing my move. Making the reservation was easy and Peter was very professional and easy to communicate with. I had compared quotes and Helix was significantly cheaper than another area company, so I was happy about that. The moving team was Mario (Rolando), Carlos, and Junior, with a moving coordinator who communicated with me by phone on the day of the move. They were all extremely punctual and professional. The movers were polite and so efficient. They were very patient as well. Nothing was damaged and they successfully moved a piano. Just wanted to say big thanks to Daniel and Fernando for a professional moving service. Furniture and pre-packed boxes were unassembled/assembled, wrapped/unwrapped and carefully moved to our new house in the specified rooms. They worked non stop and moved fast. I would recommend using these two guys for your move from Helix. They would have gotten a 5 stars review from me. I gave 4 stars because the job duration wasn't on-point and we paid more than expected. It was humanly impossible to move faster than these guys. My move with Helix was exceptionally well done. Daniel's crew arrived on time, did an amazing job wrapping delicate items, busted a hump all day in brutal heat and humidity, drove 100 miles to the new destination, and carried a lot of stuff up a steep and narrow stairway, all without complaining once. In fact, these guys were probably the most cheerful and professional movers I've ever hired. Nothing broken, no problems of any kind. And the final bill was spot on for the totally reasonable estimate, with zero extra charges. Peter in the office is a straight shooter and delivers on his word, and they hire only first-rate people. We just completed a move from Washington, DC to Tennessee, and after much fretting about the horror stories I've heard from friends and family about the pitfalls of working with long-distance moving companies, I have to say that we were very pleased with Helix. Its initial quote was competitive with the six other companies we contacted, it were willing to beat the most competitive offer that came in, Peter performed an accurate inventory (so no surprises in the final bill), and Jorge led the packing, loading, and unloading process in an efficient manner. I had a short window to set up a move and didn't have the time to do my research so I went with the first mover who gave me a quote - and I won't even mention their name here - because that would put them on the same level with Helix! What a big mistake! It was embarrassing. A total scam! A bazillion steps behind Helix for sure. I cancelled that mover and reached out to Helix again.
