LOVE LOVE LOVE Hella Clean & Dennis! We've been using them for 2-3 years, started at our apartment and then moved with us to our new place. I've used multiple cleaning services both in and out of Oakland, and Hella Clean is the best. Amazing attention to detail, they don't cut corners, super reliable, really responsive communication and they bring all the cleaning supplies with them. It's such a treat to come home to a clean house and their pricing is really reasonable (esp for the Bay Area) so go ahead and treat yourself!! I'd sooner give up my morning coffee than give up my Hella Clean! :) Also, I just read the negative review below. It's truly appalling and my experience with Hella Clean, Dennis & all of their staff couldn't be more different. I've only had wonderful experiences (and I don't leave a review unless somewhere is super stellar!). I can't help but think that review is incredibly biased (dare I say racially biased?). Coordinating and scheduling a time with Alison was simple and easy. They use an application that promotes local businesses (Schedulicity). Dennis was very profession. He showed up early. He wore a mask and was respectful of social distancing which is important during Covid times. Dennis cleaned the house very thoroughly. We added a deep clean of our stove and it looks great! We have a 1300 sq ft townhouse (2 bed, 2.5 bath) and he did everything by himself in 2.5 hours. Which was pretty quick. Especially how thorough he was. No wasted time! read more

Horrific Experience AND UNSAFE ~ BEWARE read to the end. #1 sent me a cleaner who was here and cleaning as I worked in my office... I checked on him twice to see if he needed anything or wanted water... Didn't have the supplies needed. Had the nastiest vacuum that I didn't want used on my wood floors or really in my house... It was full and very dirty... unsanitary.... He Broke my broom... Came to me less than half way through cleaning my house and said that he ran out of time and had to leave for his next appt. I had asked for two people and said to charge me for it to make sure that it got done... they sent one the second time too.... My house IS NOT really even dirty. I just like to keep it cleaned every two weeks... #2 They didn't charge me for #1 and sent me #2. She was an hour late. Called and left me a message after she was 30 minutes late saying that she would be late. I was working and left the front door open. I got a call saying that she left because no one answered the door... ummm... 4 of us here and the door was wide open... The owner called her and asked her to come back to my house. SUPER nice to her because at this point I just really needed my house cleaned... Late or not. My house is 3 bedrooms and ONE bath. I am the only one that lives here. There is some construction that was going on so some rooms have closed doors and not even expected to be cleaned. (no active construction) She spent 3 hours upstairs in my tiny bedroom and master bath. I WAS working so I checked on her a couple times just to make sure that she didn't need anything. I have two pieces of furniture in my master bedroom that were NOT dusted?? The area rug was raked... But, she never took her vacuum upstairs. She was supposed to be there at 1:00. She got there at 2:00. Started cleaning about 2:30. At 6:00 I finally told her that she needed to wrap up because I had a date.... She had done my tiny bedroom, bath and part of the kitchen. NEVER entered my office, living room, laundry room or touched the entryway. She asked me to check what she did do. I went into the bathroom and asked if she had cleaned the bathtub. It's a soaking tub. She said that she had tried to do it with a brush and did the best that she could... It still had bubble bath in it around the water line???? I just said thank you because at 6:30 PM.... I just wanted her to leave. THE NEXT MORNING... I messaged the owner and let them know that there were scratches in my shower and sent pics. I use a squeegee every time I shower. I know that they were not there before. ****HERE is the MOST IMPORTANT THING**** Dennis the husband part of the ownership showed up to look at the damage. He had an attitude. Hostile & argumentative from the time I opened the door. When I took him upstairs to see the shower he stood at the door, did not enter the bathroom and said, "I don't see any scratches." I said the light was not good from that angle and that he needed to enter the bathroom to see it. He said no. There were no scratches. I assured him that he could see them from the shower side. He finally came in and said, "YOU ARE MAKING THIS UP. THIS ISN'T EVEN THE SAME GLASS AS IN THE PICTURES'. Me.... "What?" total shock? "You think that I would do that?" "Who does that?" "I would never do that." He is a BIG guy and he moved toward me so that he was standing over me. I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. He had serious anger issues. I know how to diffuse a situation. I got very calm as soon as he said that. I replied that this was not going well and that I thought that it best that he leave. He elevated. He started telling me that I was making things up, that I was making a bigger deal out of it than needed to be, that the pictures were fake, that I needed to stop making his wife upset..." He moved toward me more and I stepped back... I let go of the shower and he started yelling at me that I was slamming the door... I got even quieter and all I kept slowly saying over and over, quietly was that I thought it best that he leave, please leave, I don't want to discuss this anymore... please go. I stayed very calm because he was scary angry. I called his wife and was told that no one had ever complained about him or anyone else.... I know that's not true and that it was me. I was also told that I was condescending. I had two people here that would tell me if I were... I wasn't. I was working & not paying attention to anyone but my clients. I had the glass looked at by a professional glass company that said that the scratches were vandalism NOT an accident. There were letters etched in the glass..... I had people here each time... The consensus was that I was very gracious because I needed my house cleaned and that there was a culture of victimization in the company and then aggression. VERY SCARY SITUATION. Hella Clean is consistent, efficient and affordable. They have the best rates I've encountered, always leave my place spotless, and are get the job done faster than any other service I've used. They're also really reliable - responsive when you need to make an appointment, and show up when they're supposed to (which is surprisingly not true of a lot of other services. Just had our first house cleaning experience ever with Hella Clean. Called them after doing a bunch of Yelp and FB research as well as having them recommended by several coworkers. We scheduled a deep clean as our place (with two dogs) has been in need of a close vacuuming and mopping. Dennis and his assistant were prompt, friendly, professional and detailed. Since we're not in the habit of getting professional cleaners, we weren't really sure what to expect. But our beds have never been made so nicely, toilet paper folded into crisp triangles; felt like I was coming back to a freshly cleaned hotel room. Floors sparkled and the place smelled great. Hella Clean is a life saver. With the amount of hours I work per week, it really leaves me limited time for myself. I was given a recommendation to use Hella Clean from a coworker. The prices were extremely reasonable so I gave it a chance and I have no regrets, only that I wish I would have started using the cleaning services sooner. I used the services for a year until moved to New York. Dennis would come to my home weekly. I had a set appointment time. He was always on time and have always done an excellent job with cleaning my home. Sometimes I would be home for the cleanings, other times I would not. I trust Dennis cleaning my house. I've never had any problems or complaints with him. He's very pleasant, we would chit chat at times during basketball season, he's a crazy warriors fan, which makes me like him even more. And soccer season, you know he's all the way for Costa Rica. I was sadden when I suddenly had to moved New York, having to leave was hard, but Dennis totally help me in the process by cleaning when I moved out. I was able to get my full deposit back because of it. I have never felt unsafe in any way, being a single female living alone. I actually felt protected when he was at my home cleaning. Hella Clean is Hella Good and that is no joke. I really like Dennis. Efficient. Thorough. Great sense of humor. Very reasonable rates. I know that I am a picky house keeper; I have been told that on more than one occasion. My house is a multi level home (4 split levels) that has heavy foot traffic between two German Shedders and two trail runners and lots of company. I have always worked with Dennis in cleaning the house only because that was an arrangement that worked for me. While he did the heavier work, I could focus on weekly spot areas. Please do not think I was policing. Not even remotely. I trust Dennis and his wife completely with my dogs and my home.
