Plumb forgot her name twice now The portions are so generous that the hubby and I have started a "share everything" policy just so we can sample more of the menu. The Lamb Chops are sizeable, perfectly seasoned, and actually taste like they would in Greece. The Hummus. It's rustic, flavorful, and took me straight back to the streets of Greece. Pair that with their juicy Greek Meatballs, and you're in possible food coma! They also boast an all-Greek wine list, which is a nice authentic touch. While they have a great patio, it's been a bit too chilly for us lately, but the indoor vibe is just as lovely. I love Hellenic Greek Kitchen. Today was the third time I come here, and the food and service were as good as the previous times.  This restaurant is located on South End, one of the hottest areas in Charlotte. It is centrally located with other business around within walking distance. There are paid and affordable street parking spots nearby.  The menu offers a good variety of options. In addition to the regular menu, they offer a lunch menu with two combo options. That is exactly what I went for today. I got the Spicy Dip & Pita and the Chicken Pita. I also got an Arold Palmer to drink. Everything was delicious! I mean, it was really delicious.    The price was pretty affordable, the service was professional and friendly, all common areas, including the restrooms, were clean. We had a great experience at Hellenic Greek Kitchen! There was plenty of street parking available, although you'll need to pay using a parking app. The restaurant was clean. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive - my youngest who is a non-adventurous eater, asked for a big plate of fries and he delivered a BIG plate of fries . I loved my Santorini cocktail. My kids each ordered the non-alcoholic Aegean cocktail. One daughter thought it was a little too sweet, but still ended up drinking the whole thing. My daughters are vegetarian so it was nice to see some meat-free options. The absolute showstopper was the saganaki appetizer (flaming halloumi cheese)--it was delicious and so much fun to watch! We also enjoyed Greek salads with salmon, spicy feta with pita, fries, yellow rice, and gigantes. Everything was fresh and flavorful. All in all, it was nice to try something a little different, and Hellenic Greek Kitchen did it really well. Zucchini chips were lightly fried and had a combination of a crunch w/softness in the middle. They weren't oily and the tzatziki was delightfully light and refreshing. The portion size seemed much smaller than all the other pictures. The salad dressing is very strong mustard flavor. It was okay mixing the vegetables and the lamb. The gyro meat was well seasoned. Some of mine was grisly and concerned me that i had bit into something that was like a rock. The french fries are not made in house. The crisp on them was like the zucchini chips very light but still crunchy. Both the fries and chips could have used salt. They didn't have any. It's a very clean, white kitchen style interior. The bench height at the table is high esp in comparison to the table. The service was quick and very helpful. Really enjoyed our visit. read more

What an incredible Greek kitchen! I finally had the chance to visit last night with my friend, who's a regular along with her partner. They live in the apartments above and always rave about how convenient it is to have such a gem right downstairs--and now I totally get why. We ordered a little "girl dinner" spread and shared three dips, the crispy zucchini chips, and (not pictured) the chicken and pesto couscous main. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was just as lovely--we sat outside, enjoyed the warm evening, and had the best time catching up over great food. But honestly, what stood out just as much as the food was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly sweet, attentive, and genuinely kind. Best Greek food I've ever had, hands down! WOW is all I can say to properly express my delight with Hellenic. We came in for lunch on a late Saturday afternoon and honestly we expected it to be packed. But it wasn't! The restaurant is beautiful and conveniently located on the corner. There's also patio seating but we opted for the bar. Of course, we started out with a drink. My friend had the Athena and I the Baklava Old Fashioned. Delicious! We adored our bartender Hailey and she told us the Athena was quite sweet, which we're not a fan of, so she doubled the lemon and it was perfect. Food - Oh man my mouth is watering in reflection as I write this! I ordered the Chicken Pita with Greek fries, and my friend the Lemon Chicken platter. I've never had Tzatziki THIS delicious. There's a level of spice to it that's unmatched. And the consistency is more like an aioli. I could put this on everything. The portions are huge! I cannot believe how reasonable their prices are, too. We were tempted to have dessert but were too full to do so, but they looked divine. An absolute GEM! Visited on a Friday at 12pm with coworkers and we were BLOWN away! Firstly, the hostess and waitress were very friendly and efficient. Our waitress gave great recommendations. Nice cute Greek kitchen located in South End. The food was phenomenal! We started off with the Geeek fries. They were crispped to perfection and seasoned perfectly with Feta. If your not a feta person I would not recommend the Greek fries. Next we sampled the Taziki, hummus and spicy feta. DELICIOUS! It came with a selection of cucumbers and pita bread. Our favorites were the hummus and taziki. It was all very tasteful. I ordered the Mediterranean bowl. I switched the arugula with romaine lettuce and added the quinoa. It was very delicious. Very fresh and I did not even need to add the dressing to it. It was not dry at all and the added chicken blended everything together! Such a great restaurant and I recommend it. This is a super cute little restaurant that we visited for lunch on Father's Day. We actually had no fathers in the group but I did an online search for the best calamari in town and this restaurant popped up. Upon arrival we were promptly seated at a table against the wall. It wasn't too busy with two other tables dining inside, and one outside. There were a few tables that needed to be bussed but sat dirty for most of our meal which wasn't a huge deal but just kind of an eyesore seeing as it wasn't busy. There was one waitress working and a shift change as we saw some of the other staff members rotate. The food took a little time to come out. The calamari came first and the lemon chicken with Greek fries came shortly after. The calamari was great. Very fresh and flavorful and it was hot, hot,hot. The lemon chicken was also good. You could really taste the lemon. The fries, well, they weren't great. The first batch was cold and soggy. We asked for a new side and they too were cold. I think the lemon juice on top cools them off or something because the waitress swore they had just come out the fryer. I'd probably skip ordering those next time. Anyways, our waitress was great. She was knowledge of the menu and had an upbeat and inviting personality. Minus the fries, the food was an overall hit and the restaurant is someplace I would come back to in the future. We made a last minute reservation to sit outside since we were in the area and needed to grab a late lunch in between events. We were promptly and nicely greeting and attend to. The outdoor area is small but comfortable, and it was a perfect day for outdoor dining. We ordered the Mediterranean bowl, Gyro Platter, Lamb Burger, and shrimp skewers (not pictured). The bowl was beautiful and the chicken flavorful. It was missing the mint and did not come with EVOO/vinegar as stated. Instead the server brought out a lemon vinaigrette that was more mustard than lemon. While the bowl was fresh and satisfying, it would have been so much more flavorful with the missing mint and EVOO/vinegar. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his lamb burger. Fries that accompanied the burger were also very good. The gyro platter was large, and well presented. My son very much enjoyed the shrimp skewers, but not the flavor of the veggies over rice. Incredible! I found out about this restaurant from TikTok. The food here perfectly cooked, excellent seasoned, and satisfying down to its core. The service here was top-notch! Personable, friendly, and knowledgeable, you couldn't ask for better service. The restaurant is not large, but it is beautifully decorated and intimate. An important note on parking, they have parking in the garage behind the restaurant that is shared with an apartment complex, just to make sure that you park in a spot that is indicated for restaurant use. I can't wait to come back and try something new. On this visit, I had the lamb pita, which was like eating a heavenly Greek cloud of meat, veg, tzatziki sauce, wrapped in an airy pita. My friend had the lemon chicken orzo, which I nabbed a spoonful and found incredibly flavorful and comforting. The zucchini chips was an excellent appetizer, and the loukamades was a phenomenal dessert. Great experience! We came on a Sat night and elected to sit outside on the patio (covered...which is a plus in case it's sunny or raining). They also had a nice interior dining area. They had a nice selection of beers including local draft options. We started with the Spicy Feta ($7), and it was outstanding! The pita bread was so fresh. What cute place! You walk in and are instantly transported out of the country and into a bright, warm locale. They have BYO mojitos and I loved the passion fruit one. We started with the honey feta and it was excellent. I would like to try more of the dips next time. I got the lemon feta orzo as my meal and it was a perfect portion plus some. The service here is always on point. Never asked for a refill and my order has always been correct. The zucchini chips are a great way to start, and I love the kebabs. You can mix and match proteins on the kebab plates, the pork is my favorite. The menu shares a lot of common items with their sister restaurant, Ilios. Hellenic is a great yet often overlooked gem in Charlotte. The food and drinks are spectacular. They're a business competing in a very popular and growing neighborhood and can be missed on the corner they occupy right off of South Boulevard. Folks, go see them. There is FREE parking in the MAA lot attached to the building behind the restaurant. Sometimes, they get slammed and they are short staffed so have some patience. The staff are friendly and courteous at all times. I like that the restaurant is open. The large dining room makes it feel communal and like you're eating among friends. I also enjoy the small outside patio in the spring. Right now it's summer so please put me inside! Whew! The grape leaves are one of my fave appetizers and the Greek meatballs don't miss. On my recent visit, I tried the pesto couscous and chicken and it was a great, filling yet light dinner. Definitely order a Santorini cocktail. read more

I saw on a Yelp newsletter/email that Hellenic was offering $5 dips, Monday-Friday, 2-5 pm. They are usually $7 each but mentioning Yelp they were $5. I got Spicy feta and tzatziki dip with half pita and half cucumbers for each dip. Both dips were great and I loved the spice in the feta dip. Such a beautiful family restaurant. I did not know it was a family owned restaurant until our sweet server explained the story behind it. So happy I got to walk in and dine here. The food was amazing and the portions were pretty fulling. There was only two staff members and they were killing it. They waited on all the tables and treated us so well.
