Very cute location. Clean as well. It's a family business. The cashier was the daughter and mom the baker. I came in for a cinnamon roll and asked for extra icing, that was added no issue. This is one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. It's nice and flaky and buttery. Would get one every visit

Oh what a gem we have found! So overjoyed that we no longer have to go to downtown birmingham for pastries, or stand in line at Continental. We were cheerfully greeted as we stepped in to Hello Bakery; we picked the ham n cheese croissant, cheese danish , chocolate croissant and the rum cake just to try a variety of pastries. They have the BEST croissants - hands down! Buttery, flakey, does not have that commercialized bulk produced (think Panera) bland taste, AND they know how to bake pastries without burning them (if you've been to Last Call, you know). The ham is thick sliced (thank you!!) so you don't just bite into a mouthful of croissant and cheese. Cheese danish was absolutely perfect, the choc croissant had a good amount of chocolate in it and the rum cake (this was different) was moist and gooey, but certainly an acquired taste. No seating in here, just to go orders. The staff were attentive and our cashier was polite and gracious. I wish this business tremendous growth, because they deserve it. Quality and taste is all there, excellent service.

Great for breakfast or a treat after school. Peach Nutmeg Crumble ice cream, wow! It's 50% Alabama peaches, he said! So delicious. Love the crunch of the crumble and nutmeg spice was in perfect proportion. The cookies and croissants looked amazing, too!

Always looking for the perfect croissant and having read about Hello Bakery I decided to stop after an early morning dental procedure--to surprise Mom. I got two plain croissants and two unique cinnamon rolls. Both are huge. The croissants are super flaky with a rich buttery flavor. My raised in France mother hasn't stopped talking about them. When I gave her a half of the cinnamon roll, she looked at it like "WTH". First bite "YUM" came out of her mouth between chews. OMG! The flakiest buttery tasting croissants. Could not believe how close to home. Of course, it could be a dangerous combination. I love the location of this place. Talk about a neighborhood bakery. Situated smack dab in the heart of a neighborhood. Along with other eateries. I got there a few minutes after they opened. I was welcomed by the most alluring aroma. The owner and staff are so welcoming and friendly. They appear to have a steady stream of customers. What a wonderful place to have a bakery. When your French-raised mother raves about food, you get 5-stars. No ifs ands it buts.

Amazing local bakery! We love walking here on Saturday mornings. Haven't tried their afternoon ice cream yet but I'm sure it's amazing! These croissants and coffee are some of the best we've had, and for a great price. 25$ tip included for 2 pastries & 2 coffees. Super friendly workers too! Very quick service

Excellent pastries, etc. and they wake up a lot earlier than I do! Also easy to park there in the mornings.

No joke the chocolate croissants were the best I've ever had. All the pastries we got were awesome (and we got a lot bc we couldn't decide!)

There wasn't line when we got there but the crowd usually follows us for some reason so by the time we left there was standing room only and a line out the door. The bakery items were very fresh and tasty. I loved the Swedish gingerbread cookies - light and crisp. The lemon bar was delicious. They also have sandwiches that liked really good. Coffee - I got a vanilla latte extra sweet (no lavender) and my daughter said it was one of the best. I thought it was pretty good. I would go again when back in Birmingham!

The flavor was definitely there, which I appreciated, but the crust was a little tough. I also grabbed a couple of brownies. They were good, but I was disappointed by the presentation, tightly wrapped and squeezed into plastic wrap. I came to Alabama expecting Southern bakery quality, Southern prices, and Southern hospitality. Instead, the brownies gave me a middle of the road presentation at Jersey prices. Would I go back? Now that's the question. I would give the pecan pie another chance, but hopefully with a crust that is a little more cooperative.

I ordered an iced americano given it was a hot day around noon. I got my drink and went to add creamer and sweetener like I always do. And bam that's when I noticed this place was one of those we are going to force you to have what we believe is healthier for you. What do I mean. No Splenda no equal just that nasty truvia. I'm diabetic so I don't use sugar and truvia is just nasty. It tastes horrible and makes your drink taste horrible. Now mind you they will use all kinds of syrups with dyes and additives and sugars but nope not Splenda. That's bad for you. The 50 grams of sugar in a single vanilla latte is totally fine. We're ok with that even though that alone is over the recommended amount. But Splenda no we can't allow that. Will never be back.

They take absolute care and pride in everything--even the eggs were extra tasty and their breakfast sandwiches....yum. Most of the pastries are made with sourdough (except danishes, cookies, muffins). And they are top notch. Tender, buttery, flavorful, no skimping on anything. Just plain delicious. Bought more to save for afternoon coffee. The Friday offerings of challah, rye, and bagels are not sourdough but made with great care--even the bagels are made using tangzhong and cold proofed for 48 hours. The space itself is beautiful--clean, intentional, and unique--with visual nods to milling and baking traditions. You can see elements of the mill and wheat motifs in the background, which adds a quiet sense of craftsmanship and history without feeling staged. The pastries are exceptional. The baguette is crisp on the outside, tender inside--everything you want it to be. Every item feels carefully made, never rushed. What stands out most is the consistency and care.
